I get to keep mine... but (as disgusting as this sounds) food gets stuck in them and can rot easily. It's hard to get a brush back there ::tries and starts gagging::

But I'm glad I don't have to go to surgery, and yet... ::growing pain starts and she falls over:: owowow...

Mendokuse 04-01-2008 10:43 PM

I think all four came in, none got removed.
xD I think. I'm not completely sure.

Aeisha 04-01-2008 10:59 PM

I am really lucky I won't need to get mine taken out, at the momment I have two wisdom teeth at the momment and neither of them have given me any trouble at all. THough I still don't trust the dentist each time he tells me that.

Nightshade1988 04-01-2008 11:28 PM

Wisdom teeth are teh evilz. My lower left tooth is coming through, and previously had not bothered me until about 4 in the morning earlier today when I woke with my gums being so sore and somewhat itchy in that spot. It still feels like I got poked there. >_> Now I know why toddlers are in such a crappy mood.

Arkeyla 04-01-2008 11:57 PM

I have had all four of mine removed - one was growing really close to a nerve, so they had to be very careful removing it, else the side of my face may have ended up with no feeling whatsoever. I had to go under general anaesthetic, as I warned that there was a good chance a lot of involuntary flinching would happen if I was aware of my surroundings. The worst part was that the only time I could get in to have the operation was three days before my birthday that year, so I spend what should have been a fun day looking like a chipmunk and feeling sorry for myself.

My are starting to.
A friend had to have his cut out.
He said even the the medicine, it still hurt like crap.
(not gonna use the word he actually said. ;D)

Evil Teeth

My dentist took X-rays recently of my wisdom teeth, they're coming in....sideways so I'm expecting to go through a very painful time soon, *tears*. I might just have to suffer then though because I *refuse* shots in my mouth or any sort of mind altering medication that they are wanting to give me for the operation. I shudder more at the thought of medication then the impending pain.

Resho 04-02-2008 02:47 AM

Mine haven't come in yet; now I'm scared. D:

tracy: Yea they put me to sleep...I can't believe it actually worked. They made me high but I did NOT like the feeling and especially said so before I fell asleep...the nitrous was causing me hard of breathing, believe it or not, so thankfully they switched to oxygen before i OD'd on gas. It's okay to have a tiny mouth! My best friend does *shrug* normal.

Uber-Kitten: That's what I'm worried about, food getting stuck and eventually rotting your teeth. My doctor did NOT give me a water syringe like he was supposed to so my friend's gonna give me his. I told him to sterilize it irst.

Mendokuse: Go to your dentist and have an x-ray done? I have 2 hidden ones found in my x-ray that are gonna have to be removed EVENTUALLY...so we'll repeat this process again ^^;;

Aeisha: Just as long as they're not causing you pain then you're okay.

Arkeyla: That suuuuuuuucks about your birthday :( *hugs*

[johnny]: It takes a looooooong time for the medicine to kick in. Seriously. I'm gonna end up taking mine in a couple of hours, like before I go to sleep.

VoltaireDomian: YEAAA that's how it was for my lower right tooth--sideways. You should take the medication though. I was completely knocked out and didn't know anything...they put me to sleep and half an hour later I was awake.

Resho: Be happy -- that puts off your operation even longer.

Living Dead 04-02-2008 07:14 AM

I hope you feel better soon wisdom teeth can be a pain. I think I started to get one before the accident but now I have no need to worry it will just rot out with the rest.

`Riddle 04-02-2008 08:23 AM

They start to come in when you're 18?
LIES! TREASON! [/end]
I think they're starting to come out even more early nowadays, thoughs.

I only turned 16 in February, and I got my wisdom teeth pulled out last year! x_x

Oh! You're another one who had surgery to get them out, like me. I thought it hurt, though. Not really, but kind of like a constant pain. >>; I suck at describing.

But I thought it felt really strange when I was eating, and stuff. x_x

Marguerite Blakeney 04-04-2008 12:54 AM

Yea I think you're right...my brother had his pulled out when he was 15...or 16 I can't remember coz he's a year older than me but we're in the same grade...anyway yea they do tend to come in earlier nowadays. I just hadn't had mine pulled out till now.

On the good side, my face didn't turn chipmunky/Pikachu-y!!!

Purdy Possum Pie 04-04-2008 01:01 AM

I had mine cut out when I was 15 or so I think. I had them all four cut out at once. I did not have room in my mouth for them to grow. It hurt so bad... I remember sleeping a lot.

Allura Minelle 04-04-2008 01:33 AM

Oh cute animal!!!

Heh. Some of my friends have already gotten theirs out and they're 16. My friend came in the next day looking extremely swollen. He called it the Quagmire face.

I don't have mine yet. I don't feel anything there either, but the gum is beginning to look like it is thinning out. It's turning white.

I had my wisdom teeth out 3 years ago when I was 16. I only had 3, but apparently the surgeon had to "dig out" some of the pieces of my teeth, so my experience may have been worse than others.
It was horrible. As I was leaving the building where I had surgery, I passed out in the middle of the parking lot. Once I got home I was still sick from the surgery. I threw up and it was super gross because I couldn't open my mouth very wide. (Sorry, that was yucky)
It definitely hurt the next few days, but my meds helped me sleep through it. I got really hungry because I couldn't fit any big pieces of food in my mouth or chew at all.
I had poofy cheeks for a little over 2 weeks. I looked pretty sweet.

side-note: my grandma had all 4 wisdom teeth removed when she was a teenager. Then another one grew in when she was ~65. Isn't that weird!?
