I remember once upon a time ago (last summer), that one of the lifeguards at my old pool used to follow me around and bug me, with the stupidest little whatever you want to call it. Every time I'd get mad at him about something, or every time I was mean to him, he'd go,"Pyoh!" Or (Pee-yawe) as it is pronounced.

I hated it so much, and to further rack on the annoyance, he used to do this little arm motion with it.

Like you know how when kids in the old days were like, "Oh darn!" That kind of arm gesture.

I'll put up a illustration or something later.

Discuss;

Annoying Sayings,
Catch Phrases,
Body gestures.

I hate it when people say "I don't mean to be rude..." and then proceed to be rude. If you don't mean to be rude, don't be rude.

Oh my God, that one is a big one!
I hate that too.
There all, "Well I don't mean to be rude, but-"
Or another one is, "It's nothing personal."
And then it tends to be something personal. :/
Rawr!!
Ebil people..

There's also people who say stuff like "Baka, kawaii, desu," or something when they don't even know the language OR how to pronounce it >.<

People who can't just use proper sentences are annoying >.<

As for body gestures... I can't stand the middle finger, because people just really don't know what they're saying... >.< nor do they want to... >.>

It bugs me when people say "It could be worse". At the time they say it you feel like things couldnt be worse and you want to end their lives. I also get angry when people say "Are you grumpy/in a bad mood" or anything related. Im not untill they ask me. Then I am a compleet *****.

haha - I hate when you get hurt or you're sick and someone goes "are you alright?" lmao - of course not - I just stubbed my toe moron! lol
and then also - when someone asks "May I borrow a piece of paper?" or "May I borrow a tissue?" I know they're trying to be nice - but you can HAVE a piece of paper or you can HAVE a tissue - I don't want it back - so don't say borrow lmao

Along with "I don't mean to be rude.." I've noticed a lot of people saying "I'm not racist but..." and then go on to say a comment that some would think is racist ¬_¬

Personally, I'm sick of hearing Little Britain and Catherine Tate catchphrases repeated when there's just no need. It's a little annoying when you're trying to make a serious point and someone keeps saying "Am I bovvered?" over and over again. I think the shows are funny, but when people overuse those lines it makes me think worse of them.

I use I don't mean to be rude or it isn't personal
because everybody takes things differently.

If I wanted to ask someone about their sexuality
I will say I don't mean to be rude but can I ask
what is your sexuality?

It should be a compliment sometimes especially if
you follow up with something like "Oh your gay, too
bad. I was really interested in you."

You know the "Can I borrow a piece of paper?"
Isn't a hundered percent not possible because
a week later if you need paper you would take some
possibly from the same person that borrowed
paper originally from you then you know they repaid
you the paper.

Not that that's been said to me but it's an example

Haha, some of these are hilarious.

Another thing is when you ask someone for gum or paper, and they have a piece of gum in their mouth and you say,"Hey (whoever), do you have any gum?"
And they're like,"Nope."

I absolutely hate it when I'm in a store and I ask if they have an item I want, and they say "Oh, we sure don't." I don't know, it just sounds kind of awkward to me. Why not just "No, sorry" or something? I always expect that they'll say "We sure do, it's down aisle ten" or something.

Morwen: What about when you go into a store and
you ask for an item and they say they don't have it
and you continue to search around the store because
you don't want to leave just then and you find that
item?

Has that ever happened to any one?

@Intoxicating Envy: Unfortunately, I haven't had that happen. Which is probably a good thing, because I'd want to take it up to whoever "We sure don't"-ed me (especially if they called me "ma'am" which I also HATE, I don't think women should be called ma'am until they are at least 40 and I'm nowhere near 40) and show it to them, and be all "What does this look like to you?"

...I can be kinda bitchy sometimes. D: Or at least I think the bitchy things even if I don't act on them. But that's off topic.

I've done that many times.
I think okay, "Well I'll look so I don't seem rude..."
And then I find it and I'm like,"LIARSSS!"

After the movie Clueless, the phrase "my bad!" got wore out to death. Also "run Forrest, run!" after Forrest Gump. So many movie phrases start out as funny but get annoying real quick when worn out to death by everyone and their brother.

I'm also not a big fan of "CAN I HAS MOAR CHEEZEBURGER TIEM NAO?" stuff. Macros are fun but people have worn out those silly phrases and spellings making things like LOL Cats less entertaining and more annoying.

I hate when people say "I know how you feel" NO YOU BLOODY DON'T! No two experiances, or two people, are the same, so unless you're somehow me and in my head you don't know how I feel, you know how you'd feel in a similar situation.

I know how it feels doesn't irritate me, but I know how you feel, makes me want to smash peoples skulls in.

Hahaha that annoys me too. I mean, you're not going to return the paper after you've written on it, and I certainly dcn't want your used tissue back.

I don't like "no offense" either.
