Anyone TV savvy enough to help?

So I was wondering if anyone was knowledgable enough with TV's to help me.
See, seeeeveral months ago, my electricity went out, and afterwards, my TV refused to come on. Well, many months later. Just recently, actually, it started working again. I have no idea why :/

And now today, the electricity went out, it won't come on again! It's really annoying D: I don't want to wait months for it to come back on again >_> Anyone know why this could be happening? Torchwood is gonna be coming on this saturday, and I'd really like to watch it ):

How old is your television? I don't know much about them, but when my tv last went wonky and refused to work it was discovered that I needed to replace the blown picture tube. COuld that be part of the problem? Sorry I can't be more help.

No, actually. It's not old at all. It was a year old this christmas, so about a year and 3 months.

Weird, I've never heard of that happening before. Some people can't get their tv to turn off when the power goes out. And these days TV's are more complicated.
I suggest you talk to your service provider or the power company.

Hmmm.. I have no experience with these problems at all.
Usually a nice strong bang works with out tv xD

I'm not TV savvy either, but I'm guessing that having the power suddenly cut from it didn't do it much good :/ You could try asking people at the store you got it from :) Maybe they could give you some better answers ;3

Sounds like its just an old T.V. and you need to get a new one mate.

I think talk to a television technician o.o isnt that what they are there for?

Check out the warranty and take it back! If the person who got it for you got it from a reputable shop, then you should be able to exchange it or get a refund. In my opinion, there is no point trying to figure out what is wrong. You might miss Torchwood be3cause it's in the shop being repaired. xD Just exchange it for one that works.

If it still doesn't work then it might be your cable or whatever that's gone wrong. D=

Unless it's old, I'd ask a service professional.

My thoughts are that perhaps the circuitry inside have been shorted out from electricity surges. If that's the case, you'll need to estimate how much it will cost to fix it and if it would be cheaper (and easier) to just get a new one. I don't think there are any switches on the outside that let you reset the settings, per se.

Haha I have no idea. I remember how my aunt's television works in the similar way. Sometimes it turns on, sometimes it doesn't. Maybe you should get it fixed by a repairman. That's the best way I could think of.
