Words can't describe

I didn't see that anyone had made a post about this, and it's something that has really upset me, so I thought I would.
http://www.informationweek.com/news/...leID=207100417

Has anyone heard about this?
A 16 year old girl was lured to the home of a former friend and was then ganged up on by six girls who held her in the house against her will and took turns beating on her.

This severely disturbs me. I've already made one ridiculously long blog about it tonight so I won't do that here. But I was just wondering if anyone else has heard about it and what your thoughts on it are.

Oh, I'm not very good at putting in internet links so I hope I did right.

Jennifer 04-10-2008 08:40 AM

I heard about this somewhere. d;
Anyways, just looking over that article and seeing a capture of the beating...I cried. I mean, I SERIOUSLY cried. I get really emotional when I think of others getting hurt and nobody there to save them.

havenmasters 04-10-2008 08:46 AM

My sister and I are literally sick over this. Six girls just because they didn't like something she said on myspace.
I hope they all get tried as adults(or at least as many as can be)and I hope they all go to jail.

Estrella 04-10-2008 09:22 AM

This actually does nothing more than send me into a fit of rage. I HATE how pathetic teenagers are becoming and how petty their fights are. No one deserves to be ganged up on like that, no matter what has been said about who. And you're right it is sickening and nothing's going to change. Unlike most people I would never blame media/television/internet for this sort of violence all this kind of violence is is sheer stupidity. Everyone of those kids deserves what they did to that girl being done back onto them. I know that may sound harsh but that's the only way they'll ever get any sense of what they really did. They won't be tried as adults because of their age. Maybe if they were close to turning eighteen yes, but otherwise their going to get sent to some juvenile detention center where a pathetic third-rate counselor attempts to make them "understand their anger." Aside from that, the only people who will actually get into trouble are those who threw the punches.

I think the only way to solve this problem is to beat some sense into the little twats. It really irritates me that the teenage population has degraded so much. Recently there was a video in a town not far from where I live of a fight and some kid had a friggin' gun. I regret ever bringing a child into the world where this could very well be her in the future.

The main difference is, though, I'd crack some little skulls if they tried to beat my daughter like that.

UGH. This also reminds me of a movie I saw where a group of "athletes" in a small town basically got away with raping a mentally-challenged girl with a broom, bat and something else just because of who they were. It's disgusting to know this kind of stuff can happen and no one can really think of a good way to get it under control.

-fumes- I'm too irritated to even look for typos.

I totally agree with you. Especially about the movie :blanches: That just makes me want to throw up. You here so many stories about violence among teenagers today, and there are so many reason why, in my opinion.

First, they're exposed to this stuff from a very early age. I'm not blaming the media, but when practically all there is on TV has some sort of sexual or violent undertones, it causes problems.

Second, is the degredation of the family unit. Kids are doing things unmonitored because they're parents are mostly too busy to deal with them.

Third is the rediculous amount of freedom kids are allowed nowadays. When i was a little kid, we had something called ::chores:: and ::rules::, and we respected them.

Fourth, not to sound like a threapist, but young kids today just don't know how to deal with their issues n a reational, constructive manner. The swo site of the argument on myspace should have been able to work it out without resorting to any sort of violence.

:sigh: sorry about the wall of text.

I have no hope for the future if this is any indication.

Arkeyla 04-10-2008 09:46 AM

*sighs* Teenagers today (not all, of course, but there are sadly many like the girls who administered the beating - geez, that sounds clinical) often put me in mind of a pack of wild beasts. I have to apologise to any beasts reading this for that comment! Society has really slipped when things like this happen and are embarrassingly for the human race becoming more and more prevalent. I raise my daughter to have respect for others and to be a compassionate person, which really frightens me when I realise that not all parents do that, and that I am bringing her up in a savage world. My heart goes out to the poor victim and her family in their time of need.

D-Yoop 04-10-2008 10:02 AM

Whoah, I didnt hear of it before so I read the article and looked up some news reports on youtube.. That is so fucking horrible.. O_O

HappySlip 04-10-2008 10:54 AM

thats the dumbest thing a person can do xD shit.

Fabby 04-10-2008 11:16 AM

That is just so ridiculous and petty! To beat a girl senseless because they didn't like what she said on the internet!? It's awful. Teenagers these days... I shouldn't talk, I am a teenager today, but I'm disgusted by this. It's awful to think how often they beat the living shit out of each other for no good reason. If I had a dime every time two stupid kids were in a fight at my school...
Whatever happened to conflict resolution by spreading reputation-ruining rumors? Now we just kick each other's asses? That is so much less effective.

havenmasters 04-10-2008 11:50 AM

Estrella-yeah, I learned of it hours ago and I'm still going off about it.

Arkeyla-that is actually how the cop described it, something about a pact like beast mentality.

Did you guys catch the part about how they actually knocked her unconscious, moved her to the couch in the other room(there was more room to beat on her in there), WAITED for her to wake up, and started beating on her all over again.
Oh, and who caught the part about the mom defending her daughter and the others because the girl(the one beaten)should take some blame for writing crap on myspace. She even says something along the lines of 'you shouldn't say something if you can't back it up."

The girls actually thought it was a fair fight because only one of them would beat on her at a time. I'm sorry, but there is nothing fair about being beaten on by more than one person, even if it is only one at a time.
...my heart goes out to that girl. She didn't even try to fight back, she just wanted to leave. I get not wanting to fight, I'm not a fighter. But survival instincts would have kicked in when I realized they weren't going to let me out of that house.

My boyfriend is studying law and he thinks that there is a good chance that they will all get off. I guess Florida is a really horrible state to live in law-wise. I think they should all be punished, if it is to different degrees. They have permanently effected this girl's life and they should be held accountable.
I know this sound horrible-I am not a violent person-but I hope that girls gang up on them in jail(or juvy, where ever they are)and show them how it feels every single day that they are in there.

juniper_silver 04-10-2008 03:22 PM

That's terrible. I can't understand why people would want to do that...and I certainly can't understand why they'd want to show other people. That's just showing people what monsters they are. If I did something like that(which I wouldn't) I'd be ashamed and wouldn't want anyone to ever know.

The idea was that they were going to put the video on myspace and youtube. It was a ploy to humiliate the girl. I don't know how they thought they could beat her up, record the beating and then display it online, and somehow didn't think they would get into any trouble for it. It's not like they were playing pranks or hazing like they do for college sororities/fraternities; they did physical damage to her and it was serious, permanent damage. The only thing accomplished by recording it is that now it is being used as evidence against them.

Purdy Possum Pie 04-11-2008 06:03 AM

I had heard about this before it is really horrible. I can not believe such things could go on.

Kite 04-11-2008 06:37 AM

Wow.. That's pretty messed up.

kattie_manic 04-11-2008 06:52 AM

I think its complete crap that someone would do that just because they could. Then procceed to post it online where other people are going to watch it and think its fake. But in reality some girl went through somuch for them to make that video. Just think this is the next generation of kids. But nobody wants to get old now. It just greatly saddens me that the next generation has lost its respect for one another. You see little six year olds cussing and flipping older people off. Saying all this cruel stuff. Its just really said that the youth today is so messed up. BTW THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ALL OF THE NEXT GENERATION. I am part of the next generation, but I still have respect where respect is do. And all the kids that have that same respect I give you major brownie points. Don't forget what good parents try to teach you.

FlyPanda 04-11-2008 06:11 PM

oh yeah i heard it from my mom who heard it from the news >.>; its horrible, didn't they do that to post a youtube vid or something? but anyway i bet those kids were on crack or smoking pot...

ToxicQuiddity 04-11-2008 06:14 PM

I don't understand why she couldn't just push her way out of the room
o.o

Living Dead 04-11-2008 06:21 PM

That is just terrible how they all would gang up on her like that. I do not see how people can do things like this to each other.

Chocolati 04-12-2008 12:02 AM

Whoa. That's just awful.
Why would people do stuff like that? It's just plain stupid. I hope they get put away. .__. For sure, I hope they go to jail for a long time. Hopefully, they'll be tried as an adult. Because frankly, if an adult did something like that, they would probably have to face AT LEAST 1 year. Probably more.
I agree, teenagers these days are way out of control. Even though I'm still a teenager, some of my classmates do the stupidest things. It makes me so mad. *fumes*

kimsasok 04-12-2008 01:10 AM

I heard about this yesterday by a friend. He told me that the girl was like talking crap to them on MySpace or whatever so the girls lured her into a house and ONLY two of them beat her up. I mean she got what she deserved I guess. You shouldn't talk crap to people if you can't back it up. It's just what happens these days. A lot of people go through it. I doubt that the girls took turns beating on her. If they did that is just cruel. But the girl shouldn't of been talking crap to them.

Amiiu 04-12-2008 01:48 AM

That's so ridiculous. Because she said on the internet that they didn't like they decide to beat her up, video tape it, and post it on the internet! Is that really what people choose to solves things? I mean the thing with the 3rd graders, they planned to KILL their teacher. And wasn't there this other case that I can't exactly remember right now? It's like all the students of today decide to solve everything by just beating so-and-so or killing them just because they did something that they didn't like! They shouldn't beat her up, sure, maybe mean talk her, fine, that happens to everyone, but beat her up to the point where she become unconscious only to beat her up some more? That's outrageous! What are people thinking these days? And seriously, there were two guys standing outside of the house while the girl is getting beat up to make sure no ones come and help her? That's just...how can they just let a girl get beat up to the point where it was critical and not do anything besides making sure that no one helps her! It's just ridiculous how far people would go just because of something so little as someone saying something upsetting to them.

S A R S 04-12-2008 01:55 AM

I saw a video clip of it, and found it terrible disturbing. Poor person, having to go through that. People really overreact over such small things, like posting bad things about each other on the internet.

Utterly ridiculous.

Risque 04-12-2008 02:00 AM

Disgusting. Absolutely fucking disgusting. I heard about this story and just wanted to vomit at the behaviors of these girls. Srsly, getting offended over stupid shit through MYSPACE? And that's how they go about solving their problems? Luring a girl into your house and taking turns in beating her up solves nothing and all you really do is scar that poor kid for life.

I'm glad that video was taken and put up. Now legal action can be taken against those little fuckers. I hope they rot in prison and have bad things done to them.

Living Dead 04-12-2008 06:17 AM

I really do hope they get some serious time out of this but normally kids just get a slap on the wrist for the things they do.

serafim_azriel 04-12-2008 06:44 AM

Something like that actually happened a few years ago as well, it too was recorded. It's all horrible. I have got to wonder what they were thinking, really.
