So yeah, I'm having a majorly hard time getting to sleep. Y'see, my sleep schedule is totally messed up, and so tonight I was happy when I got tired around 10 or so. I figured I could go to bed and get up early. That didn't happen. I slept until 1 or so, and have been up since. I'm trying to get tired again, but I just can't seem to >_> Someone hypnotize me!
Do any of you ever find it *really* hard to get to sleep? Maybe it's because I'm trying too hard. I dunno. *shrugs* I *feel* tired, but I just can't go to sleep.

I do that often I get all giddy and can not get to sleep. Tonight is not one I am yawning as I type so I am about to turn in. Sometimes it helps to lay in your bed. I know when I do I am out like a light it is so cozy especially with the covers pulled up and hugging a pillow or a stuffed animal.
You could always try reading... it normally puts me to sleep.

*waves* Hi James!
Yes, there are plenty of times I've had trouble sleeping!
The problem is my husband works night shifts, so my sleeping schedule is backwards from what it should be. We usually go to bed around 3 or 4 am, sometimes I go later, and get up around 1pm or so, so that we can get him sent off to work... and then I go to avi forums!
But now I'm gonna have to fix that! Starting April 22 I have 4 weeks of classes -two weeks in class, two weeks clinicals- for my CNA certification, and it starts at 9am in a city that's about 30 min away from me. So I'll have to go to bed early so I can get up early!
This is going to be hard on me ><

Ohh, are you a nurse/going to be a nurse? If so, that's cool! My mom's getting ready to graduate nursing school in just over a week. Good luck with your sleeping habbits! :3
Living Dead: Cuddling up to a pillow sounds nice, I'll try that soon. I'm getting even more tired.

I tend to take naps and catch sleep when I can, cause I know that sooner or later I will get another run of a week or so when I can't sleep properly... it all balances out in the end.

Thanks James!
I'm going to be a nurse. I'm starting out as a CNA, which is a nursing assistant, then later on I'll go for my RN, which is probably the degree your mom has/is getting, so that I may fly with LifeFlight XD

I wish you all the luck in the world, Sisely! My mom is going for her RN, and she's really excited. Just today she got a job at a hospital nearby and she's *really* excited, since she doesn't like the hospital she's currently at. The hospital she got a job at today has really nice people, so she's really happy.
The road to becoming a nurse is a long one, and hard (And I'm not even her XD) So once again, good luck! I'm sure you'll do great. You have the right attitude, by the sound of you.
Look at me rambling on x3

That's great that she is getting a job. I hope she likes it better then the hospital she is at now. It's horrible to have to work at a place you don't want to be. So she's working while she goes to school? I bet that's hard. If you don't mind me asking, what is she doing at the hospital now? Is she an LPN upgrading to an RN?
I went to college and earned an Associates degree for a Administrative Medical Assistant, glorified secretary.
Unfortunately, the offices here aren't looking for secretaries, but I see ads in the paper all the time looking for nurses- RN's, LPN's and CNA's. So when I saw they were holding CNA classes I signed up!
I use to work in a hospital before I moved out of state. I was the Unit Secretary in the ER. Saw all kinds of...interesting..things. It gets pretty crazy in there at times!

Forgive me, I don't know all these codename type...Things XD She's a Tech, if that helps? XD Sorry I couldn't tell you more. But yeah, I do believe she'll be upgrading to RN in May, which is when she'll start working. She has to go through orientation for a few weeks, and after that she'll be able to start working overtime.
The pay is going to be a *lot* nicer, too. She gets around...Err, 13$ an hour (I'm probably way off) where she is now. In her new job she'll be making 20$ an hour. And she actually only works part time now, because school is just taking all of her time.
What sort of thing did you do at the hospital? I'm not sure what all of these titles are. You'd think I would, seeing as my mom's been in nursing school for the past year XD
And she always has some horror stories (Which are actually extremely funny) from the ER. An old lady once fought them XD That story was hilarious.

I got to call all the different departments like the lab to come draw blood on the patients or the x-ray department to let them know they could come get a patient to take them over to their department for an x-ray. I also got to answer the phone, and call people for the ER doctors, such as the family doctors of a patient our ER doctor was seeing, or other hospitals to work on transferring a patient who needed care, like sending them to a burn hospital or trauma center.
Good for her! Pay raises are always awesome! XD
Yes, stories are good. Lemme see.. the one that comes to mind is a patient that came in after being hit by a train. >< I know we got StatMedEvac to fly him to Pittsburgh to their trauma center

that happens to me too occasionally, but that's when i have something in my mind, or a worry, or too much stress >.>;
just try to forget about everything, get into your bed, lay still for about ten minutes without opening your eyes, turn on the radio to the classic channel.....then drift to sleep
if it doesn't work....i've got nothin else to say ^w^;

I usually have trouble sleeping when I have too much I am worrying about. Also if I am very excited about something, I will stay awake thinking about it all night. I wish I had a solution to it but I have not found one yet. XD

The pillows normally work for me. The lavender things never really did for me but they work for my daughter lol.
Some say warm baths or exercising or reading... the baths I would enjoy but when I get out and get cold I am going to be awake lol.

work out a bit before going to bed, lots of physical activity makes the body tired, which is perfect for a nice long sleep. That and sleepy pills.
<.<
Hypnotizing doesn't work on me  too cynical.

Yeah. Working on some boring thing makes me sleep. People say spritz lavender on your pillow works. Read the latest edition of readers digest xD They have a big section on it.

I find a sachet of fresh lavender slipped into your pillow case works better than a spray. Also Chamomile tea - it's a relaxant, but without several teaspoons of honey in it it tastes foul, and the sugar content of honey kind of defeats the purpose of the tea. Warm milk works for some people, so does reading the dictionary, and others swear by relaxation music playing softly in the background.

I feel like that all the time.

It takes hours of listening to music for me to finally feel even remotely sleepy.
It's really irritating!
Hypnotism is sounding good right now.
