Which do you like better, reading or writing? Which do you find easier?

If you had to choose between not knowing how to read, but being able to write as well as you can now (I guess you wouldn't be able to read what you wrote. Or maybe you could only read things that you wrote, and not anything else), or being able to read as well as you can now, but not being able to write, which would you choose?

Reading I findd better ofcorse thats just me! I find it better cause I never get readers block! But I do get writters block. I can write well and everything but I dont like to most days. My favorite books are twilight a mixture of romance and fiction. -sigh-
Plus, I would rather want to know how to write because if I cant read I cant write so HA

That is really hard. The thing is, I only enjoy writing if it's fantasy or fiction, or free verse poetry. Books that catch my eyes are books about magic. I love them so much. But I do find reading easier. I'm not the best author. xP And for your third question, I have no clue.

._.

I would definitely choose to not be able to write, because I doubt I would be any different than I am now. I already am pretty horrible at writing, and I hate everything about it. And it might be a good thing, because then I wouldn't have to feel like my hand is about to fall off every time I go to write something. I went through all of elementary and middle school trying to come up with ways to get out of writing things, and not that I'm in high school, I still try to avoid writing, and will give short answers on tests, but at least I do it.

What would you do if you had to choose between reading really well, and being bad at writing, or writing really well, but not being very good at reading?

I love both. I love to write stories then read them back to myself just because. lol I have a lot of work out right now, but I always read everyone else's work.

BUT if I really had to chose I love reading more then anything. <33

I'm a reader and a writer, I read for the creativity and fantasy...the magic of books and I write for expression and joy. I enjoy reading other peoples work; to know it is possible to write great things. Reading and writing are kinds of art.

If I could read but couldn't write, there's voice-to-text software I could use to make up for it. So I'd have to go with not being able to write, if it came down to it.

But if you mean completely losing my ability to write stories or songs, then...I'd rather lose my ability to read. For that, I can just have someone else (or even a computer program) read to me. That's what I'd do if I ever went blind or something (which I hope to god never happens).

It's funny...I'm in the middle of something that's making me realize just how much more difficult it is to write than read. I've been doing both in my native language since I was 2...so I couldn't exactly remember how that whole thing went too clearly.

Now I'm learning Japanese. I can read...roughly 500 kanji so far. Of those, I can easily write about 100. Being able to recognize a word when you see it is one thing...but being able to recreate it is completely another. I'm realizing this now more than ever.

Personally I would choose to be able to read, but not write.

Like others have said, I love to lose myself in stories, and there are many to lose myself in, so I wouldn't mind not being able to write new stories for myself to read. I could just make them up and daydream about them other than write.

Although it might put a bit of a damper on my college education...

I would personally choose to be able to read better than I can write. Mainly because then you could still have a decent vocabulary and also if you can't write then you can just dictate for some one else and then read what they have writen. Though I think if you are able to read you would be able to write what you have read. They really do just go hand in hand.

You know, I really couldn't pick.

I love writing but at the same time I really love reading. It's a lose lose situation. :(

I think I would go for reading, because even if I couldn't write it out, I could still have stories in my head and still think of poems and whatnot.

I do not normally like to read. But I like reading better then writing. I am just not good at writing. I normally lurk around but that is about it.

I have become a poster on here but I could never write more then a few entries. But I could never write a story or anything like that.

By reading and writing, I don't mean the actual physical process. Reading means more of understanding things you read, and having a large vocabulary. Not understanding that letters stand for words. Writing isn't moving your hand, writing is being able to come up with ideas and put them into words.

I would rather read then write. I have never been good at spelling words. Some I am fire fox rarely lights up for me, so I am better then I think lol. But I still have the impression that I am not that good. I always get a knot in my stomach when I would have to write something in school. Especially when you had to read it out loud... I was freaking out in my head and normally would mess up.

Well now, I probably couldn't chose between reading and writing. On one side I love to read books of all types, but on the other side I love to write as well, and seeing as how I want to be a writer I would need to be able to read what I wrote so I knew if it made sense and flowed well enough for a good story.

I suck and fail at writing. Its something I just cannot do. I prefer reading, but I do not mind writing.

But I prefer drawing more than both those. Thats... a topic for another... topic (?) though, so I won't mention that.

^Above: Writing Fail.

I find reading easier, both in my native language and other languages. I'm more of a drawing than writing person

On one hand I have bookshelves and bookshelves jammed with as many books as they'll fit.
But on the other hand I have two laptops and a computer full of stories I've typed up.
D:
Not to mention lined bookes and notepads...

I don't know which I like better.
Hard to chooe!

Reading.
More interesting..you don't actually have to think as much, unlike writing. I do like writing at times though.
...
although, if drawing was a choice. I'd pick that. :S

I would choose reading over writing...it is a very tough decision though. It would be hard to get by in society without being able to read and write, but I think not being able to read would be worse. Things like driving would be dangerous without knowing how to read.

I love to read and probably do it more than I write, but I'd miss writing in my journal.

I would die if I couldn't read or write. I mean, if I could only write then I wouldn't be able to read over what I just wrote to make sure it sounded okay and that would bug me. I also would hate just to be able to read since I'm an author and HAVE to have my notebook to write with me at all times. I mean, it's like my lifeline pretty much.

Personally I think you couldn't do one without the other. You tend to find that good writers learn their lessons from reading a lot. Not copying storylines and styles but y'know what I mean ^^'
