Is it a myth that no matter what you wear if a guy likes you he will like you with pajamas or your worst outfit just after you got up from bed because it is not related to look but pheromons and body chemical stuff?
Do you dress up for you I mean for the pleasure you get feeling well with the clothes you like or you dress for the guys/girls or people to look at you/accept you /think good of you?
Did you ever feel without some make up you are not well enough to go face the day?
Do you feel uncomfortable when your clothes didn't dry and you need to wear something you don't like much?
when you dress for a date, is it to gain confidence on yourself...? so you are putting your confidence in an exterior factor....should this be this way? I dont think so but that is just my opinion.
It’s no surprise that our fashion choices can have an effect on this development; fashion is one of the most straightforward forms of self-expression, and what we think while getting dressed says something about who we are and how we see ourselves. I think that there are three types of dressers: those who dress for the same sex, those who dress for the opposite sex and those who dress for themselves. While each type has its benefits and drawbacks, I would argue that we should all strive to be the third. From relationship issues to friend drama to the stresses of school and other activities, we’ve got enough to worry about without thinking about what others think of our outfits.

I dress up cause it makes me have more confidence and feel better about myself, but also it's a fashion thing. Our whole school is fashionalble. =o I didn't know that was possible until I went there. Probably the guy wouldn't like the girl if she was wearing pajamas instead of some cute halter top. ._.

Well, I think it is. I mean, 'cmon..If he like's you for you and not your body then he probably won't give a damn about what your wearing..Unless your wearing a clown suit to a fancy restaurant, then he might care. xD

I usually don't dress up unless i'm going out with the family too dinner or something, but I would most likely dress up if i'm going to dinner/meeting the guy I love/like. xD

Well, I don't really wear make-up..Maybe some eyeliner and eyeshadow, but that's about it..I'm not the type to care what people think of me. But I wasn't always like that. x]

I can honestly say that when I dress up (or preen or generally make myself look better than normal) it's because I want to look better. I like looking good. When I go out in public, I like to maintain a certain amount of aesthetic courtesy if people are required to see me. :)

I look good for me.
It's just a confidence booster for me to dress up, look good, and feel good with it.
It makes me sad when people "dress to impress" others. If you only dress up to make other people happy then I don't see the point. Do it because you like it.

Actually my husband usually compliments me more when I am wear a tank top and sweats than when I am all fancy. I don't know why that is. I guess he likes the real me under all the stuff women tend to put on.
However I like to dress up, or just dress fun. I do it for myself not for anyone else. I think clothes create a mood and I either want to match my mood or change it so I dress accordingly.

I dress for myself.
Sure, I do enjoy it when others compliment me on my clothing, but my priority is me.
If I am comfy and feel good, then to hell with anyone else's negative opinions. :p
I'm not saying that I dress like a bum or something. Haha. I always try to make myself look as good as is possible. But the point of it is that it makes me feel more confident and better, not to impress so-and-so in the soup aisle. xD
Now, I wouldn't wear my Winnie the Pooh PJ shorts to the mall or anything, just cause I'm comfortable in them, but I think you get my point.
I do have a make-up issue though. I don't look good to myself without at least some eyeliner on. Go figure. :?

Mostly for myself, but if others think it's great, then I'm satisfied. I don't put a lot of emphasis on tons of makeup or loads of jewelry, I like my jeans and tees and hoodies just fine. I won't wear it if it looks uncomforable, no matter how good it looks.

I guess I dress for myself. ^ w^ I mean, if other people think what I'm wearing looks good then I'm happy but... I've been known to wear some pretty odd outfits, just because I like them. Who cares if some random chav thinks it's funny to insult me from across the street? The point is, I'm comfortable with what I'm wearing. ^ w^
I don't like dressing for expectations - like, for a formal occasion or when I went to my prom. If I'm not completely happy with the clothes I'm wearing because I'd rather be wearing something else, it shows.
As for make up though... I don't wear any at all. ^ u^;; I found that I was terrible at putting it on, and I've never gotten anyone to teach me how to do it better. Plus I've found it difficult to find things like foundation, powder or concealer to match my skin tone - I'm super-pale. X3

When I feel like dressing up I do it, so it's definitely something I do for myself. But I do love it when the hubby notices and says something, it makes me feel even better. He's so oblivious most of the time so it makes me feel really good when I can grab his attention without saying a word. 8)

I'm pretty content dressing for myself. If I dress up it is usually either because I want to, or because I want to make my darling so horny that he'll throw me on the bed when we get home. So, uh, I guess I am a little bit dressing up for him. But I do what I feel comfortable in and only when I actually feel like it.
I like looking nice for him, anyways. Even though he finds me attractive no matter what I'm wearing. I mean hell, this guy started dating me when my hair was cut so short I looked like a boy and I wore baggy, form-hiding clothing. He loved me then, he loves me now :)

I love dressing up even if I'm just going out to go grocery shopping or something lame like that. :'D Makes me feel prettiesss. LOL @ what Kinmotsu said about "maintaining a certain amount of aesthetic courtesy if people are required to see me." Great way to put it.
I don't dress up for the opposite sex unless it's someone I like. C; Then it's cute when they're like *drooool* hahaha.
& I'd dress up accordingly for job interviews, special events, etc because it's just professionalism. :)

I only look alright for myself- unless I'm at a formal event, I always wear a t-shirt/sweater(depending on the season), and a pair of jeans or regular pants. As long as the clothes are comfortable, and match, I'm happy with it. However, when I DO feel like looking good for a formal occasion(such as at a concert, or at a formal dinner), I tend to go over the top. Not clothing wise- I generally wear a nice dress, or a nice set of dress clothes- but accessory wise. I always pick earrings that match, put necklaces or bracelets on, and even occasionally put perfume on. The strange thing is, no one at the places I go to really care. ^^;. Maybe when I get a boyfriend, I'll start dressing nicely for him on occasion. But right now, I dress how I want, and I plan to keep doing that. :).

If I go out with friends I'll put makeup on and all that.

in my personal experience, cause this can't be said for everyone..
i.. never wear make up. it's just how i am. i've also been with men that really don't care how i look - so if i'm sitting around in pj's or wearing sweats or i'm all dressed up, they've loved me and treated me the same way. most men don't really care. sure, it's nice to `dress up` once and a while, i just don't see the point in it.
and by dress up, i mean provide a uniform and coordinated look with my clothing and my make up.. but that's like.. once a year, if that.

I dress for meeeeeeeeh~ :D
I do wear lolita and sailor stuff outside in the middle of Russia, where not even one lolita exists. Srsly.
There's nothing wrong with people wanting to dress for others though, but depending too much on other people's opinions to even make it your worth is...a bit too much > 3>!~

I'm not sure.
See, I always want to look good. But on days where I actually leave the house, I dress even better. I wear my favorite shirts, pants that actually fit me, I pick out a necklace or a bracelet, I straighten my hair, and put on mascara.
I'm not trying to get like, attention or anything. But when you're just going to be home all day, I don't see the point in putting on something nice. It feels like a waste, y'know?
But on the other hand, I don't really dress in what I feel is exactly the norm. But I also don't dress in a way that I feel I really stand out.
