clothes sizes

Dont you hate it when you see a a nice pair of jeans, shoes, shirt...ect. and the shop dont have it in your size.

Tell me your opinion on the queston.
you can P.M. if wana

Avalai 04-20-2008 01:13 PM

yah, and then you end up getting some other stupid shirt that you'll probably never wear because it looks aweful, but it was the only one that actually was stocked in your size.
I especially hate it when that's a bathing suit. I always end up getting some weird brown one, because the nice blue and red ones are always too big or too small.

Conforming-Is-Suicide 04-20-2008 01:14 PM

I don't think I know what size I am anyway...I wear like UK 8, 10 and 12?

Annoys me when shops put things on hangers that say the wrong size! I bought a hoody, said 10 on the hanger, but it was 18 and makes me look pregnant :[

Have trouble with shoes, they always seem to be outta my size

Maichanz 04-20-2008 01:24 PM

Usually, for me, I have a problem with finding pants that will fit. Sometime I find jeans that are size 00 and 0 or 5+..I'm a size 1-3 and I can sometime never find them >.< And when I do..the jeans might be super long! I went to Stitches yesterday and found this really nice pair of jeans and they fit perfectly at the waist..unbtil i looked down and I saw how long they ended up. I'm 5"3-5"4 ish..not exactly THAT short but a lot of Stitches' jeans look like they're made for ppl that are 5"7!

I find alot of places I like like Stitches and Garage have the same problem...my mom would sometimes buy and alter the jeans for me but even that's hard since some jeans don't look as nice when the bottom part is cut so I have to look for jeans carefully to find the 'perfect' pair.>.<

My mom is 5"7 and I envy her...but even she said the jeans were slightly too long wehn she tried a pair from Garage>.<

icandiee 04-20-2008 01:26 PM

Yeaaah, like some don't carry even or odd numbers >___<
Or they ran out D:

Maichanz 04-20-2008 01:28 PM

@Conforming-Is-Suicide

Sometime I have that problem with shoes too..and sometimes I'd be a size 7 and next minute I'd be a size 5 and a half U.S. so I never know what to ask the people for..

I usually just ask for a 6 or 7 and if it's too big or too small, which sometimes they were, I'd get a different pair.

Erathene 04-20-2008 02:41 PM

I always get that problem with shoes >.>;;
It seems that UK size 6 is the most popular size.
All across the shelves are sizes 3,4,5,7,8,9, but never any size 6 :/
It gets on my nerves.

critternator 04-20-2008 04:53 PM

Oh my, I hate that! Yeah, that happens to me all of the time. Like I see a nice pair of shoes! But then they don't have my size! Pisses me off... And then shirts and stuff! They're all too big for me, because I'm like skinny...

Cherry Who? 04-20-2008 04:58 PM

I had that problem. Since stores always skip a size (3, 5, 7, 9, etc) when I was an 8, that really sucked. Seven was too small, and 9 was too big.
But since I've lost weight, I'm finally a size that is not only common to have (so it's easy to find), it's also an odd number, so most stores have it. XD Hooray for 5!
My shoe size is 8. Which is really common, so they always have plenty of it. ^^
But I have liked things and they were out of my size before. It's always so disappointing. Because by the time that you're looking for your size, normally you've already decided that you want it. DX

Purdy Possum Pie 04-20-2008 05:03 PM

Yes that happens to me a lot I think there a lot of others with my size and taste lol there are always clothes for a size smaller or bigger but never one that I actually can use.

ishtar163 04-20-2008 05:35 PM

I never as much of a problem with size as length. I'm only 5'2", so it seems like every pair of pants in every store is way too long. If stores have something in a specifically short length, though, it seems to be a bit TOO short. I guess I should be grateful that I live in a warm climate so I can always wear skirts and capris. Then I don't have to worry about it so much. :D

Mioko 04-20-2008 05:52 PM

It's hard..

DustyDreamer 04-20-2008 07:25 PM

When I was younger I was a skinny tall girl. XD
Size 0 or 1 I would wear in pants...and mygod was it hard to find those things. -.-'
Now, Im turning 20 on thursday and since I grew into my self...my body. I find my sizes all the time...that its fun now to go shopping. XD

aonith 04-20-2008 07:28 PM

Well... I hate it more when you come into a shop find some clothes wich are your size, but when you try them on it seems like they are XL when they should be just an M size.
Well... i hope someone understood me >.<

Amo_Angelus 04-20-2008 07:39 PM

Actually, I'm more pissed off when you go to a shop and see clothes that are tagged as your size but when you get them home they're too big or too small because sizes don't actually matter and no two shops size up their clothes the same. Heck in some shops different styles are sized up differently.

Sagitar 04-20-2008 08:06 PM

luckily I am so average sized that I can find clothes easily.. besides, it's not too hard to shorten your jeans O.o

and the whole sizing thing, I don't trust. you have to put it on to see if it actually fits you. I usually take one my size and one bigger size and go see if one of them fits..

Bread Chan 04-20-2008 10:26 PM

Yeah. I hate it. -w-
But you know what I really wish they had in stock?
Like y'know how they have extra small, and extra large?

I want an extra medium shirt.

Amo_Angelus 04-20-2008 10:59 PM

Extra medium doesn't make sense...

I know. ^-^
That's the point.

...But I shall make one.. One day!

Rainy 04-20-2008 11:58 PM

Ugggh.
I usually find this beautiful shirt and find out that it's a smaller size then me, then I buy it cause it's too pretty. Or if I find a skirt that's too large for me ._.; I still buy it.

Blondheart 04-21-2008 12:01 AM

What I really hate is that they keep changing the sizes of stuff. Over the last decade I have gone up two sizes and I haven't gained a pound. :x

That's because you're shopping in the juniors section. To find a size eight you have to check in the ladies section. I'm not sure why they do sizes like that. Unfortunately, the clothes there are more for older people, but they do have some stuff for young women there as well if you look. But yay for getting down to a five. That's an easy size to find. I'm lucky enough that I usually fit within three or four sizes, four, five, six, and seven. I'm lucky I can shop in both juniors and ladies sections, though I prefer juniors, though I've found nice things in both places.

Jennifer 04-21-2008 08:50 PM

Cha! Especially when they're on clearance! I saw the cutest denim skirt at K-Mart one time. They had every size except mine! Needless to say, I was very upset. ;C The problem with shopping for pants is finding long ones. I have long legs, so yeah... I'll find a nice pair of jeans and find they're basically highwaters on me or just pass my ankle by a little bit. I like the hem of my pants to touch the floor, mmmk. As for shirts, I don't usually have a problem with them.

The even numbers have more shape to them, so if you have more of a curve to your body, even if you are say a size 9, you should try a size 8 or 10 depending on how tight the pants are on you.
They are odd numbered in the junior's section, because young women are expected to have less shape to them than grown women. So my suggestion is, if you have hips and ass, go for the even numbers, if you are slim, go for the odd numbers.

Sonarius 04-21-2008 09:43 PM

It's pretty easy to find tops for myself unless I'm going for business dressy (I'm a girl). I have 'birthing hips' so all these shirts and dresses out now with the Empire waist... well, I just look like I'm hiding a pregnancy that does not exhist. Not very flatering.

Pants... are a whole other world. I baisically mark of a day or two as 'pants shopping days'. Then, I go in and tyr on anything that catches my eye and might remotly fit (size I should be and grab a size down and a size up at the same time if I can find them).

Along with my hips, I have a fitting darier, which is good, as if I didn't, I'd look incredibly flat and blah. My curves make all the boys come to the yard 8) To bad my front door is locked and the windows are shatter proof! But the booty ruins the effect of a lot of pants as they'll fit everywhere... but bag out in the back 'casue thier meant for someone that looks like they sat in a small square mold for all of their lives. BLEH.

So out of two days, I'll maybe come out with one or *gasp* TWO pairs of pants!

and I HATE shopping... or more specifically, shopping malls. So I am always lacking in seasonal clothing. Always.
