i do love animals very much, but i love eating meat too >.>; i dunno, i guess it's because meat gets served everywhere, its delicious, lots of people eat it (friends and family) and i don't know that many vegans or vegetarians.....i don't think there's anything wrong with eating meat
i mean animals eat meat too and its part of a healthy diet. plus becoming vegetarian, you have to worry about proteins and calories and stuff, very unhealthy

OMNOMNOM. MEAT.

I'm an O blood type, so it's actually easier for me to digest proteins and meats rather than grains and vegetables. So...I lose weight by eating a big fat juicy steak. How can you argue with that?

I do eat meat, and I've tried to turn into a vegetarian, but my mom would always tempt me with a delicious meal.. ;-;
My mom thinks I'm still too young to cut a food group out of my system for health purposes, but she will allow me to become a vegetarian when I'm older.
There are days that my family would go without eating meat.

Well, as of right now I do eat meat. <3
But just poultry(chicken, turkey ect.) and seafood.

But, for about two or three years I was a vegetarian so I guess I can see both sides of the issue.

I never really did it because of the treatment of the animals in a certain sense, to be honest. I didn't like some of the genertic engineering and homornes and such given to the animals because if it is given to them and we ingest it it affects us as well. Though I mainly did it because I just didn't like it and it made me sick.

One of the main reasons I personally went back to meat was because I didn't do things properly, and I became sick and had to deal with anemia and other such ailments.

But in the end, it's up to choice. And being omnivores we are supposed to eat meat, so unless we find other sources of iron/protien and similar things it can be very unhealthy but if done right (taking vitamin pills ect.) it can be almost as healthy as not eating meat.

I'm a meat eater. I really don't care what vegetarians and/or vegans do, it's their body, not mine. ^^;

I do eat meat.
-Meat eaters, how do deal with vegetarians/vegans?
Honestly? I feel that it is their choice to not eat meat, so it really does not bother or affect me much at all.
-Meat eaters, do you agree/disagree, like/dislike non-meat eaters?
I personally don't agree, but I will not say anything to non-meat eaters.

I eat meat.

I feel bad for the animals, but humans are meant to eat meat and we can't do anything about that.

I try to get organic meats, and I know what I eat at my dad's is fresh and treated well, but my mom shops at Shop-Rite. Blech.

I do eat meat.

I respect vegetarians and vegans choices for not eating meat and/or dairy etc.
(I have friends who are vegetarians)

I prefer white meat like chicken to red meat.

I dont eat meat for various reasons:

1. as the first guy said i think its horrible how badly the animals are treated (i think this is the main reason to be vegan too i try to eat free range eggs and milk from ethical companies but i cant give it all up yet)
2. I have nothing against animals eating other animals (i mean obviously lions cant not eat meat? they have completely evolved to do so) and in societies where it is necessary to eat meat for nutrition. But i think in a 1st world country it is completely unnecessary and in fact o unhealthy to eat meat. So the way i see it if you eat meat it is because you are so selfish that you would kill things just because you think it tastes a little better.

My family eats very little meat,
usually only one meal with fish.
Sometimes, on special occasions,
we have duck or veal. >_____>
Vegetarians? No. Strange? Yes.

I eat meat. I have no problem with people who don't eat meat. Whatever people eat, as long as they're staying healthy or whatever, it's all good in the end.

I eat meat, but I only like to eat a few animals like cows, chickens and turkeys. I don't eat piggies.

I don't pay vegetarians/vegans any mind, unless they're annoying me about my choice to eat things. Your morals/values are not my own and anyone who tries to force theirs on me if not appreciated and will be told to do impolite things in another location.

Vegetarians or Vegans can eat whatever they please, but I don't necessarily agree with the reasons thrown at me about cruelty and immorality and such. Humans are animals. Animals eat animals. End of story.

I am attempting to stop eating meat but I've noticed it's quite hard. I know that I'm limitiing myself to what I will eat (such as I will NOT eat lamb, horse, or other thing.)

Quote:

Ethical and taste reasons.

Quote:
Meat eaters, how do deal with vegetarians/vegans?
I don't know many vegetarians but one that I did know loudly complained about how there was no food at a restaurant we were at (this was in junior high and my parents were with us.) It was kind of embarrassing so I've lost a lot of respect for vegetarians because of that one person. I do respect them when they don't advertise it.

Quote:

I agree and disagree. We were given teeth that are made to grin up meat so why not eat it? In addition if it's because they think that killing the animal is inhumane then why don't we just kill off all the predators because they're pretty brutal. I know lions suffocate their pray. I'd rather get my throat slashed or my head cut off. I don't dislike non-meat eaters though, they're people and shouldn't be judged just by their diet.

I eat meat, but I really don't know why. My best guess is that I am used to the taste and I like it.

I've never given much thought to becoming a vegetarian, but I do have friends that are vegetarian. It doesn't really phase me all that much, and I don't have to do anything extra in my life unless I am playing host to them at my house.

As long as people don't look down on me for eating meat, I don't really care.

-Who doesn't eat meat? I remember back in my last year of middle school I tried to stop eating meat. It was all because of one of my favorite musicians actually. But regardless there are a lot of people that don't eat meat. I admire them really. I tried to not eat meat, but I couldn't do it. I lasted the most a week. I was so weak because I wasn't getting enough protein and other nutrients provided by meat that... I felt so bad. D: My mom made me stop the whole not eating meat charade, and there went that.

-Who is vegan? I don't know any vegans personally. But a lot of my favorite artists and actors are actually vegan. One of them is Daniel Johns from Silverchair. He's been a vegan for as long as I can remember. xD

-If you don't, then why? As I mentioned before I tried, but it is not as easy as it seems. When you've been eating meat all your life it tends to become rather difficult. xD

-How do you deal with meat eaters?;
-Meat eaters, how do deal with vegetarians/vegans? I respect them very much. Although there is an overabundance of people/animals as it is. If everyone were a vegan/vegetarian the world would be even more populated. ( No I don't mean in order for the world to be less populated by humans that we go all Hannibal Lector on everyone's asses. ) That's such a horrible way of putting it, but that's the way it is. Even from the beginning of time there were meat eaters and plant eaters. Haha, too much Land Before Time for me! xD But it's true! No matter what this world will always have both types.
But I still respect vegans/vegetarians very much for taking that extra step for our furry friends. I'm an animal lover to the extreme. The fact that I eat animals doesn't make me any kind of hypocrite. Because animals eat other animals to survive as well.

-Meat eaters, do you agree/disagree, like/dislike non-meat eaters? Well, basically my answer to this question is more or less above. Hehe.

Funny, as soon as I read the title of this thread I knew it was a vegetarian that wrote it.

Quote:
-Who doesn't eat meat?
Not me, but I wonder if there are any fruitarians on this site. They're very rare.
Quote:
-Who is vegan?
I'm not
Quote:
-If you don't, then why?
I do eat meat and I do so mainly for the taste and the nutrients.
Quote:
-How do you deal with meat eaters?
I am one, so I just join them in their meat eating.
Quote:
-Meat eaters, how do deal with vegetarians/vegans?
If I had to cook for one, I'd like to know that they're vegetarian/vegan or fruitarian beforehand so I can cater to their needs. Otherwise I don't think there's any need to deal with them, I just let them do as they please, I respect their wishes not to eat meat for whatever reason.
Quote:
-Meat eaters, do you agree/disagree, like/dislike non-meat eaters?
I once knew a vegetarian who was one simply because she didn't like the taste. I think that's probably the best reason for becoming a vegetarian. In my opinion, there's no point in refusing to eat meat for animal rights because they're still going to be killed and eaten by the majority.

For some people, not eating meat is an animal welfare concern. They will eat meat, just not factory farmed meat. That is they are not opposed to eating meat on principle, just opposed to how the animal were raised/slaughtered. Often this does result in them becoming vegetarian simply because it's easier then finding out the source of the meat they would buy or because humanely raised animals cost more then they can afford.

As for refusing to eat meat due to animal rights, this also makes sense since each purchase is like a vote. They don't want to contribute so it makes sense. Something that doesn't make sense to me is people who'd be strict vegans and then buy meat for their companion animals.

I suppose if people went to some event and the meat was already there bought for a group as opposed to them directly purchasing it, then it wouldn't matter so much.

I eat meat, not that I dont care what happens to the animals. But theres the point of that once they're killed they finally have peace. Not many people will agree to this statement but I think I stick by it.

I love eating meat. Atleast most not all. And I agree with someone that said killing an animal other than for their meat is wrong, like for their fur or something. Some places are really bad, I've seen videos and such things and it's really unhuman how some treat those animals just because their going to kill them. But others aren't that bad.

I don't eat meat every day, I can go without eating meat for a while but eventually end up eating it because it goes with something I want to eat.

As for vegans and vegetarians, I don't mind them. I respect their choice of not eating meat. It's their way of beeing, I'm not going to bug them or anything about it, like I wouldnt want to be bugged about eating meat. There are people like that and it's just childish.

And I will not like or dislike someone because of what they eat, that is just silly. That doesnt make the person or makes me like them or not.

Ok.....so you are saying cruel slaughter methods don't matter such as animals being killed in boiling water or being cut up while still alive?....These things happen on todays' slaughterhouses.
It's a shame really since we have the technology to make killing animals for meat more humane and yet people continue to be cruel.
Not to mention the countless animals that die on the way to the slaughter house in situations such as freezing to the sides of trucks.
