I use to hate shots, so much in fact that I would hide under desks back in elementary school on flu shot day. XD I still don't exactly like them, but if I need one I don't make as much as a fuss anymore. Also, even if I wanted to give blood they won't take mine. Not enough iron or something.

A shot gives you a taste of the virus, and it will help your body react quicker when you come in contact with the real virus.
The reason flu shots don't work well is because influenza is constantly changing. So you may be safe from Flu A, but you won't be safe from Flu B.

I always thought it was funny how they'd give you a dose of Last Year's flu virus, even if it's completely different from the current year.
February of this year, my city was practically quarantined because EVERYONE had the flu, but no one could do anything about it. It was the worst flu in ages. x_x I still find it funny how my best friend and boyfriend, both of whom were all over me while I was sick, never got it.

*giggles and pats on head* It's ok!
Shots: Can you handle them?
Yes. I give myself one shot a week. It used to be 3/week. Now I switched meds, and get 1 a week, and another that's 1 a month. ;3
Do you give blood?
nope, I can't. I'm on immuno-suppressant medicines. :3 (and have 2 auto-immune diseases)
Do needles scare you?
They used to really badly. But after having to deal with them on a regular basis for almost 10 years, nah. ;3
But I very much understand the fear.

I had all my shots as a kid and never minded it. In fact, I never understood why there were so many children screaming and crying. The one time I was actually a bit uncomfortable was when I was sixteen and there was an outbreak of meningitis so every kid had to get a shot. We were all supposed to go to this soccer/football building where the field was divided up in 'booths' with curtains. It felt almost like a shot factory and kids of all ages were mixed up in there. The general atmosphere was unpleasant but since getting meningitis would be a bit worse I went ahead and got my shot.
And then there was the time I had to get bloodwork done because of a weird allergic reaction. The nurse told me to look away since I was just a lil' one. I watched the whole way, was kinda cool watching that vial fill up the way it did.

I'm not afraid of needles, so I can take shots.
I was going to donate blood in high school, but they said my veins were too thin. Oops.

I'm not bothered by them at all. Side affects are the worst part. Last time i had one in each arm and both were so painful for like 3 days, i couldnt lift them highter than my waist!
I really want to give blood, i went to do it but i couldn't because i had just got back from Africa! You have to wait like 8months (maybe more) after visiting there before giving blood to make sure you are not carrying any hidden diseases!
Scary prospect that eh!

I'm pretty sure I've taken all the required immunization shots, but I had really really bad allergies as a kid, and would go to a special allergy clinic to take vaccine shots.
I think it was like, twice a week..Wednesdays and Saturdays, that I would go and get three shots. Two on my left arm, and one on my right. Needless to say, Ive gotten kind of used to the needles. xDDD!

Usually that's due to having dehydrated veins. owo Drinking lots and lots of water should help them fill out more. X3

Needles don't scare me at all. I'm used to being stabbed since I went to vet school and I would poke myself with needles accidentally when I practiced injections. Luckily, there wasn't anything in the syringes. I don't find needles to be painful to begin with though, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance.

I'm a baby around needles. >_>; They kind of freak me out. xD I think I've only had one shot that actually really hurt. Got the one for meningitis before I went to college...I don't know if it's the immunization or if it was administered badly. x_x
I can't even donate blood. Two reasons - I don't weigh enough and the blood banks turn away people who lived more than six months in certain countries. I was in Europe for almost a year? >_> *sighs*

UGH I hate needles. I don't like the idea of things puncturing/cutting my skin for some reason.
One thing I hate about getting shots is that I'm skinny so there's no meat on my arms for the needle to go in so they automatically end up hitting my bone and it really hurts. Not to mention when I get shots in my arm the whole entire arm goes weak and numb for the entire day except for the spot I got the shot at, it just hurts like crazy.
I've never had blood taken from me but I'm going to have to do it when I get married so they can run tests to make sure I'm healthy or something like that, but since I've never had this done before, my fiance, whose trained in this field in the airforce, wants to do it. (Every time I went to the doctors, its always for shots, earaches, and one time when I fractured my ankle)
I'm sure by the time all this is over he's going to have to carry me out because I won't want to move lol

If I have to have one, I have one simple as for me.
Although I get all hyped up like 2 mins before I'm called in to see my nurse
I start thinking that I will fainnnnt ot something or puke up...
But then I just think of this one time when I was in primary school and our whole class was having injections.. -Goes into story mode-
It was this boys turn and he was fairly obese  anyhowss he sat on the chair and you know was injected by ze' needle of doom and he fainted and the chair kinda collapsed.. I couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes..
It sounds mean that I was laughing doesn't it..
Ahh well! >_>
Makes me laugh again and then I just go into the room, shooot in the arm and then back out :3

We haven't had a measles outbreak in quite awhile, so we can't really know if it's working, can we?

I get allergy shots once a week. 2 in my left arm, 1 in my right arm. :3
& then, too, I have thyroid problems. So I have to get blood taken every...6 months? I think that's right XD
So yeah, they don't bother me. It would kind of suck if they did XD

I dislike needles. A lot. When I got my first shot that I remembered, my mom said it would only hurt a little bit, and when I got it, I screamed and cried, I was about four or five at the time, and she felt bad about it.
I'm supposed to be getting the second shot for the HPV vaccination like yesterday, but I've been putting it off, the first one hurt a lot, and made my entire right arm ache for two hours or so. One girl apparently fainted getting it.
I'm not allowed to give blood to the Red Cross, I'm on their no donor list because none of my veins are big enough to support the needle. I like telling people I'm on the no donor list, they get this horrified look like I have AIDS or something horrible. Then I tell them I have small veins and they snort.
Getting blood drawn sucks. The last time I did it, my mom wouldn't even let me have any water, so they contracted and it made it hard for the nurses to find a vein, they even stuck me in the hand! I got stabbed like six or seven times in different spots before I relaxed enough to let the blood flow.

I've had a lot of hsots, but they were all for immunization/travel reasons, I've onyl had to have blood tests a few times in my life jsut to check my hormone levels.
I feel no fear in getting shots, but up until I started odnating blood, having blood taken scared the shite out of me. You can put it in, but you can't take it out. Now neither of them bother me, as I'm donating to save/help someone else and that trumps my own fear.
Flu shots in my opinion are pretty useless though.. they are not proper imunizations as there are bajillions of different strains of the flu virus. But say you get immunized for Heppititis A and B, there aren't a bajillion strands of those, so the immunization process still fully works.
I even get my shots updated every 8-10 years as one should, just to be extra careful. I travel a lot, so it's easiest for me to just take care of the whole slew of things I need to protect myself best I can before I'm even asked to do so.
Tetinus shots always piss me off though DX my whole arm is sore for three days. Better then getting lockjaw though!
I've been donating blood since I became legal to do so in Canada (18), but I don't do it often enough, and I should. It's a good thing to do, and I consider it payback for the blood my mother needed when I was born anyway. <3 I kinda did a little number on her >_>

I've always been absolutely terrified of needles. Still am to a degree, but I'm getting better. I still get the usual cold sweat and butterflies reaction to any kind of needle. ;o; Even reading about needles and blood is kind of nerve-wracking. *shudders*
I haven't actually gotten a shot since 7th grade, so otherwise it's all been bloodwork.
Which. Is significantly worse. D= Since it's actually removing blood and all. If the nurse is skilled enough I won't even feel a thing, b-but that is pretty much different every time. =\ AND THEN AFTERWARDS I get super light-headed and nauseous, ugh.
Like at my last physical they tried both arms multiple times and could only get a little bit of blood and I still felt faint. And then the doctor comes in and it turns out I didn't even need to get my blood checked this visit! Ugh. xD;;
I don't think I could ever give blood if I wanted to. )= M-maybe someday...?

They had a blood drive at my school today. I wanted to give blood, but I'm way too scared to.
I mean, it probably hurts a lot. And they always seem to run into problems with everything. D:
((And I probably would have fainted anyway because I just got back at two in the morning from a weekend road trip. I haven't really eaten any food, and I got terrible sleep. Don't ask me why I went to school in the first place. ))

I stay far away from school/business blood drives. They are commonly overcrowded and with nurses in training. I find and schedual an appointment at an actual donation clinic, which is also easier for me to get to then all the pill mill scatter of insta clinics. Becasue I schedual, I commonly get a lefty chair to, which is good, since I prefer not having my right arm taken from since I use that constently all day while my left.. well that one doens't get used as much.
Also, I don't have to keep re-submitting my darn information, since the clinic already has me on a direct file.

I'm not particularly fond of being jabbed by sharp, pointy objects but I handle shots a lot better now than I used to. Getting blood drawn is another story entirely. I don't donate blood so I've only had blood drawn twice. Once when I was 5 when I had tubes put in my ears and my adenoids removed and once last summer. That 17 year gap made it an interesting experience. I was 22 and I made my mom come back with me and hold my hand. ^^; Luckily the nurse was really nice and didn't mind.

I can't give blood, because: a) too young, b) terrified of needles, and c) really rather anaemic.
As I mentioned, I'm terrified of needles. blood tests and injections scare the hell out of me. I go all wibbly at the mere sight of a needle. I never used to be scared of them, but we had to get them in school one time (don't ask, seriously) and the nurse who cave me mine was seriously incompetent. she missed the vein about 4 times. I had FIVE needles go into my arm. And they were bloody big ones too. Terrifying experience altogether.

You get used to shots after a while. It's just afterwards with certain ones your arm gets sore where they gave you the shot. I hate giving blood. My OBGYN told me I would be the perfect blood donor because I am 0-... the universal donor. I laughed and told her no I wouldn't! She shrugged her shoulders. I have very hard veins to find. I tried donating once and they turned me away because they were so hard to find. I've had veins blow on me and it's to the point they look at other parts of my body to draw blood when it needs to be done.(Hand, fingers, once from my leg...)
My one year old is really good with them. He got three in a row and didn't cry until the last one! Everytime he gets his shots the nurses are impressed with how he does so well with getting them. I didn't want him to have shots either due to reading a lot about ill effects, and being linked with Autism, but I was pretty much told he wouldn't be able to go to school and pretty much was 'convinced' by the doctors to give him his immunizations. That and the nurse gave me phamplets and assured me they don't use mercury based immunizations which was my main concern.
