I've heard a friend of mine say sometimes that she wished she had a brother who would stand up for her when she was younger. Kind of sounds like the perfect brother to any girl.

Now earlier today, when I found myself moping, and decided to stare out of the window, and my sister came downstairs. She asked me what I was doing, and I told her I was just staring out of the window because I really had no idea what to do. For a while there was silence, and in that silence I was thinking.. I would have loved to talk with her about all the things that bug me, and maybe get some advice from her.. But I did not. She is not one to talk about these sort of things. In fact, shes not one to talk with the family at all. I try to be as much as a supportive brother for her whenever it is needed, but that is not often. Usually to get rid of something that scares her. Most of the time she keeps distance from the family, doesnt talk about her problems at all. Unlike sisters of friends of mine.

So yeah, I try to be a nice supportive brother maybe perfect brother for her and all.. But she always keeps such distance, and I guess just recently it started to bother me, because I wished we could have a normal conversation for once.. And made me wonder.. What is a perfect sister like to a guy? I have no idea.

- The nicest thing a brother or sister did to you?

well if she keeps her distance from the family its because they either don't acknowldge her and her hobbies. i avoide my dad and sometimes my mom becasuse they don't exactly like the person i am and if someone can't except the person you are then why should you talk to them? and if you want to be closer to your sister then do things she likes to do watch her favorite tv shows and stuff like that. I hope my advice helps you , oh and my brother stands up for me or makes me feel better when someone puts me down:)

You know, I would really have no idea. I was born an only child and I'm afraid I don't have much experience or imagination on the subject.

I actually wouldn't want a brother who "stood up for me". I see that happen with girls who have older brothers a lot, where the brother tries to protect her and doesn't let guys get near her. It's stupid. Like they are trying to be her parent, or like they think because she is female she can't take care of herself and make her own decisions. It makes me glad I don't have a brother. I would rather my boyfriend stand up for me when people talk shit about me, but he's a big push over so I usually end up standing up for him more than he does for me. I used to want a sister when I was younger, so I would have someone to talk to. But now that I'm older, I'm glad I don't have either. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have one, but I think it would be annoying. I'd have to share my bathroom and I wouldn't like that. :o

I'd say the perfect brother or sister would be a cute one that doesn't be lame like my brother and try to make-out with all my pretty friends and doesn't punch me in the mouth when I annoy them. Currently my younger brother by a year does all that. T_T; I wish he was like my sister who's 7 and adorable and basically my favorite person in the world. I guess I'd also like a little brother or sister shares the same interests I have and believes in me.
The nicest thing my brother did for me was throw a box of pocky at my face because I asked for it? The nicest thing my sister has done is given me a birthday party when I was sick and couldn't go to the amusement park. e _ e It was quiet but cute.

I'm forced to be away from my home family since I go to school away from here, my mom does her best to visit me but I usually visit them at least once every other weekend.

I adore my brother to pieces, I look up to him because he's just so nice even though he's a choob and not the brightest cookie in the sock drawer. ;'D I adore my sister as well mostly because she's just been so successful with her life and all her goals she set for herself she's gotten. She's also the oldest between Taku and myself. I don't like little children so I don't think I'd like younger siblings. I'm extremely close to my whole family I love them and they're the closest things to me in the world. I'm so glad I have a good relationship with my family unlike some people. I'd hate it if my family just disowned me, I'd be so unhappy. D:

I don't have any other siblings, I'm the only one. That, though has made my bond with my parents strong. I can tell them anything and they give the best advice back.
I guess you can say I don't see them as so much as parents, but really good friends or a really good brother and sister; but when they have to play the parent role they won't hesitate to do so lol

I did not know this until I was older, but my older brother would warn the guys not to hurt me. He even warned my fiance. I thought that my brother did not worry about me. He was always picking on me and calling me names. But he really does care.

I only have a sister... no brother so I don't really know what this kind of relationship would be like. All I know is that I do not want a brother at all. ^^

My younger brother and I used to be the best of friends. We liked the same things, played video games, all kinds of stuff; we could talk to each other about practically anything. Last summer it all changed. It started with calling me "Noob" in real life. Then he didn't want me in his room. Now he acts like listening to me talk is the most excruciating waste of his time ever. ._. He stays in his room all the time too, playing video games alone (in the dark). He hates good advice. =\a

Oh. By the way, he's eighteen. Wtf "adult".

It's hard to understand. My older brother and sister I was never really close to; they probably annoyed me more often in that "normal" older/younger-sibling dynamic. =\

It's too difficult to recall something nice he did... it's been so damn long. He used to do nice things though. Sigh.

Me and my brother have a cool relationship.

I mean, I dunno, this is hard to explain.. We don't like... confide in eachother, that's stupid, but we're there for eachother in different ways. Despite him being broke and out of highschool, he bought a school newspaper because I was the editor. Despite me being paranoid about someone stealing my cds, I lend them to him all the time. He's 3 years older than me, but I'm actually really cool with where we're at. We used to beat on each other all the time, so I much prefer this. XD

I hate my sister. Annoying little cunt, she is.
She's 11. That's all I should really have to say.

I have three brothers, and no sisters, so I am, literaly, the only girl in my family. V_V Two of them are older than me, and on younger. When I was young, like, in kindergarden, we would go to the libary all the time and rent video game from there (yes, they used to do that, but not anymore unfortunatly. V_V). They would let me play any game I wanted (my brothers) and didn't discriminate me based off my age or gender. I really really liked that. Even though I was a girl, they didn't care. We all liked the same stuff, would play the same games, and talk about the same stuff. I see my brothers as 'friends', and not really your tipical sibling.

I think being able to talk with them about things that are troubling me, would be kinda strange, so we don't really do that, but we do occasionaly, if it has to do with school, or games. XD

Well I do not really know what a perfect brother/sister would be like to me, but I do wish that me and my sister had a closer age gap. My sister is quite a bit younger than me, so I feel like I can't talk about my problems with her because she won't understand them. I always imagine what it's like to have a sister closer to my age and sharing more common interests with each other.
Since my sister is small I get to tease her a lot and I really find it cute when she comes up to me and hugs me ^^

I absolutely despise my brother. He never did any good to or for me when I was younger.
