What kind of character would you be?

Hello, GD! I'd like to know what kind of character you think you'd be!
Book or cartoon, TV or play, I'd like to know what kind of character type would fit you.

It can be simple or complex, recurring or one time appearance.

For example, here's the type of cahracter I think I'd be:

+ Comic Relief Type: The character that brings humor to an intense or morbid situation, a break from a normally dark or serious plot. High chance of being the one that dies or gets into a situation even he/she can't see the brightside, and needs someone (a main character) to show them the way.

I'd come off as being a very shallow, 2-dimensional character unless I starred in a "very special episode" (an episode that addresses a recent tragedy or epidemic, such as AIDs, then continues down it's normal plotline) which showed myself in a new light.

The anti-hero.
Someone who gets shit done,
by their own (often quicker and more successful) methods,
which are often thought immortal by the main character/s.

Merrow 05-24-2008 11:27 PM

Anti-hero, huh? Sounds pretty intense. :O

Hmm, I guess I'm also like the annoyingly bookish character. The kid in class who always knows the answer, and always ends up having to answer because no one else cares. D:

I'm not sure lol What kind of characters are there? >w>

Sutebu 05-24-2008 11:31 PM

I'd be the character in the background that doesn't even have a face, he's so unimportant to the story.

Well, I wasn't really going by a specific guide... I was just thinking of the shows I've watched and the things you typically see there.

Like, for instance:

The Insecure Tough Guy/ Tomboy: The rebellious character who comes off as being antisocial and uninterested in the events going on around them, may act indifferent to failing tests or classes. In reality, they care very much, but act like they don't to mask emotions. Actually has a heart of gold and an honorcode they follow to a T.

May be a victim of abuse or abandonment.

lolbutteredtoast 05-25-2008 12:42 AM

Then I'd be the partner in crime. Me and my best friend are horrible XD So we'd be the dynamic duo in a show =)

KeiKei Shunu 05-25-2008 02:35 AM

Hmm. There are a few choices:

The "Loli" (or the "Cute, hyper, little one")
The "Magical Girl" (or "Mecha in disguise")

General Lee Outrageous 05-25-2008 02:39 AM

I'd probably the brainy, advice-giving type who's often the butt of jokes, but helps the other characters with sticky situations.

Ninzarel 05-25-2008 02:40 AM

I am my own character. XD I can't fathom being anyone else.

I think that's the point... what kind of character describes you.

I'm not really sure, though.

The unexpected Hero

If I had to say...I would be the unexpected hero. I would seem like the fool who can't get anything done, but when it comes down to it, I'm the one who saves the day. I'm usually underestimated until I show my true potential. It's sad how prejudgice is growing these days.:(

Ninzarel 05-25-2008 03:03 AM

Well, since I have to think about it...:sarcasm: I'd have to say: An independent, opinionated and philosophical dreamer with a bright outlook on life and the surrounding world.

Prejudice? Growing? It's been alive and well since the beginning of the human race.

iZombie 05-25-2008 03:17 AM

I could see myself as the side-kick.
I'm their for comic relief and am fairly pivotal to the plot but end up dying or having something tragic happen to them in the end so that they hero can grow as a person. ^^
Nah I kid, that was a little bit morbid. Dx
Or maybe an extra, you find out their first name they help advance the plot and then they sort of vanish for a while.

i would be in one of those old fashion type anime's that would have all of those crazy type characters like vampires or angels and stuff. I'd be a special release character that would only appear every so often and i would be a fallen angel with deep purple hair, bright almost pastell purple eyes and wearing black and dark purple gothic clothes (black cover-your-feet Tripp pants with deep purple body straps and silver chains, a black fishnet shirt and purple tank top under it with a black and silver spiked collar, polished black combat boots and black and silver spiked wrist bands with one nose piercing, 4 ear piercings on each ear, and one eye brow piercing with a lip ring to match (all studs and hoops/rings are silver)
and to top it all off, i would have a golden black-diamond engagement ring and a golden wedding band to match!!! =3

oh and i would have pure black, fluffy angel wings with silver tips

Ancasta 05-25-2008 06:44 AM

I'd be the villain, probably an evil adviser, the power behind the throne (because being on the throne makes you a target, you know. A king can be killed, but a good king-maker will survive to appoint another.) At the very least I'd be a neutral sort, probably a hermit.

Either way, I'd have good reasons for being the way I am, and likely make the hero (and readers/viewers) question their path. I might even get away.

Fullmetal Phantom 05-25-2008 07:04 AM

I'd be the lead character of a school-based farce. The only one one who sees that the situation around is going completely insane, and falling apart to a comical extent, and is desperately trying to fix it...but ends up tripping down a flight of stairs every time she even comes close.

I don't know, I just think that would be a good role for me. XD

Caroline 05-25-2008 08:14 AM

I would have to be an anime character, no doubt about it. :XD People always tell me I look like one.
Uhhhh I'd probably be in a tentacle hentai or something weird like that.

I've actually said before that in a movie i'd be the comic relief. I'm not the main focus of the story but i'm there to inject some much needed humor. Plus my inevitabe death gives the protagonist a sense of duty and direction. ... I said 'duty'.

The way I see it... You and me, we're dead weight in films. It's sitcoms where we shine. Our wit and sassy comebacks often overshadow the lead characters. People tune in by the millions to see what whacky thing we'll do next. Why we'll get so big that eventually we'll abandon our supporting roles for our own spinoff. ... Which will eventually fail and then we fade into obscurity.

...

:insane: ... :|

slickie 05-25-2008 09:17 AM

hmmm... I would be the person behind the cash register working every day. (introvert) Like from the movie anger management.
Then one day, I would snap and kill everybody.

Merrow 05-25-2008 12:13 PM

:3 Thanks for the replies, everyone! I thought for sure this thread would have died by the time I got back!

D: Or we'll end up appearing EVERYWHERE, overkilling with guest appearances and cooking i nthe celebrity spotlight. 75% chance we ruin ourselves, especially after starring in that terrible B-rate horror movie everyone hated.... 25% chance we'll slow down a bit, realize we're overexposing ourselves, and making the good decision to appear on a more serious show (probably a medical or law one, such as E.R.) and giving a great performance, showing we aren't just the comic actor and shooting ourselves into superstardom!

.....But, yeah, probably obscurity. D:

Kalliste 05-25-2008 12:16 PM

The villain definitely! The evil mastermind out plotting no good to ruin the heroes day... the very sexy villain as they always are :D
I always feel the villains are smarter, even though they usually lose for some unknown reason... why can't things not have a happy ending and the badguy win? Why? I wish! :)

I love villains though, I love how they're portrayed and how they think. I also like the villain that show's remorse, they're bad, they know it but feel kinda but for screwing everyone around.

Thankfully, it doesn't stop them though :)

Hooray for the villain!

Pink 05-25-2008 12:20 PM

I would be the person who mouthed off and got the main character in trouble in the first place. >>

=D

lol, maybe we could team up! We both seem to like causing a bit of trouble :)
Hopefully you won't be the character that gets the blame in the end though.
