Just about everyone has at least one posting habit, what's yours?

My posting habit is that I seem to always be 'laughing out loud' or 'laughing my ass off' I have no idea why i always type 'lol' or 'lmao', it just happens.

I also have a habit of repeating words. Today's word repetition seems to be 'completely'

the sad part is that even though I realize I'm doing it, I still let the habits slip into my postings *growls*

^ I also tend to act out what I'm doing in real life.. god I'm such a weirdo! :sarcasm:

I totally overuse 'XD' if I let myself lol. So I often have to go over my posts an extra time or two before hitting submit to take out any extra 'XD's.

And I just had to force myself to resist using it again just a second ago. x___x

:3, ;3, :0, ;0, XD

Those are my habits. :3 I'm a huge self-made-emoticon fan. ;3

XD see? right there!

I'm a bit of a dork. Plus sometimes I tend to post a hell of a lot. And I tend to put an empty line between text.

you mean you break your text into paragraphs? or that you randomly put lines between your sentences?

and try this for a self made emote -> 0->-<]:

XD

nah, I just put lines in-between sentences or paragraphs where it seems like they're different subjects or something..

dunno really. XD I just do it when it seems right? XD

The XD face is a big laugh. Laughing so hard you can't keep your eyes open? :0

Emoticons. I love them. Be it ^_^ or XD I use them a lot in my posts. ^_^;; They just add that extra bit of expression since you can't see me.

I also type all of my posts with properly capitalized letters and punctuation. I have a hard time not writing out a proper post with proper grammar and punctuation and such. Even in IMs, I need to capitalize. It just goes against the grain for me not to do it right!

Although, there are the exceptions. One of them is that I will not punctuate my sentences if I end it with an emoticon XD

I'll be the first to admit that my grammar and punctuation is not perfect. I did work in a writing center for two years, but I always felt that I wasn't as helpful as the other tutors there. ._.

LOL wow, I didn't think I'd ever come across someone on a forum like this who didn't understand that face. I know my mom and my friend's mom used to constantly ask us what XD meant and we'd make up all sorts of things about it being some sort of secret code... But in all seriousness, it's a laughing face, as someone said already. Look at it sideways. The X is two eyes shut tightly, a >.< type face, as in hard laughter where your eyes shut tight because you're laughing so hard. And the D is a big laughing mouth. It isn't constipated LOL. But I often think that the >_< face is very constipated looking.

I use emoticons like XD, 8D and O; a lot.. well, on Mene at least. XD And I have a tendency to randomly type certain lines in upper case 8D It's a habit I picked up off my friends, who seem to influence my posting habits a fair bit. XD And I say things like homg and lolol or lulz (when it's appropriate ;D).

I guess I'm also pretty anal about punctuation and grammar. Spelling too.

I may make mistakes, but unless I'm extremely tired and forgetting my capitalization, I'll have the best grammar and spelling I can. :3

I just feel so EMBARRASSED when I don't. It's like, why would I want to act like I'm illiterate? It's harder to think out the illiterate way to write stuff on the internet then just use proper spelling. >.>

I too have the lol complex. It's a very critical disease and I'm trying to switch off between lol and haha...but it just don't work that well. Cause when I think Haha I think haha you suck. It's very sarcastic. Just like the tone of my voice right now.

Which leads me to my second habit. I tend to mumble as I'm typing. lol (<<<) I don't mean to do it, but it helps me spell my words better then if I weren't. XD

I punctuate with emoticons.
I feel wrong without them! And it lets everyone know the mood of my post, so if I'm being sarcastic it won't be misconstrued. It's hard to tell with text.

I try to spell things correctly because my spelling, grammar and punctuation isn't very good I don't know why I've never been able to do it but either no one noticed or no one cared in high school so I try. I use firefox spell checker to help with the spelling. I use emoticons a lot as well.

My biggest posting habit is to use certain emoticons after each little section of what I write. The ones I use the most are:

I also have a habit of repeating things.

And I have a habit of pressing enter,
and going down a level, every time I start a new line of emphasis.

On the plus side, it seems to make my posts easier to read.

I don't seem to have any posting habits on Menew yet. I do tend to watch my spelling and what I say whenever I am on Menewsha or Gaia for that matter. I think I am a bit more reserved on Menewsha, and tend to be a bit more aloof just because I really don't know many people on here yet.
On gaia, dear lord. I do the XD face too much. I also tend to use the mrgreen smiley face a lot as well.
I can't help but wonder why I am different at posting when I am on Menewsha than when I am on Gaia.

I definitely overuse: xD, ^___^, D:
I guess 'lol' really bothers me, although 'lmao' never has for some reason. Another thing my friends have told me is that I have a tendency to type my sentences out unnecessarily(thank you, Menewsha! xD ) and also use better grammar/spelling/mechanics than most, especially on IM clients like GTalk and AIM.

Well, in my posts I usually end up being shot at or running away crying into the sunset. :'D I also make too many faces in my posts and I tend to post rambling jibberish that I don't understand but people seem to understand it and it's almost like "...o_o Well, hot dog! I guess you understand my brain better than myself, yeh?" I also use yeh a lot and I don't do this anymore but I used to type like a speak. The full on English English, it tended to scare people. - _ -;
