Me and my friend have an inside joke about me and the 'ping fairy'. Basically, out of no where, I will suddenly like something. Usually it's something I enjoy the look of, or enjoy drawing: strawberries, robots, and tentacled boys in sailor suits to name a few. Often times I often get obsessions with a username or phrase I'll have made up, and I'll get the urge to create a new account; Lantern Fish is an example of this and has thankfully stood the test of time. So far.

Anyway, my friend and I named this phenomenon a 'ping moment', or getting attacked by the 'ping fairy'. It can be a current obsession or as simple as a sudden craving for chocolate.

Example: La de da de da........... *PING*...... 8D I LIKE SEAHORSES!

So, GD, do you ever have 'ping moments'? How often does it happen? How intense is it, and what is the strangest thing you've ever pinged for?

Not really. I do have five minute obsessions though. I get super obsessed with a certain subject and look up all sorts of things on it, maybe buy books on it and am all about that certain thing for a while....and then it just fades out. Some of them stick around for longer, but for the most part, they just fade. I still think they're interesting and fun, but not enough to stay super obsessed with them. I'm worried that Mene might be one of those things! *is sooo obsessed with Mene at the moment* But it's so fun here, I'm sure I'll keep coming back. ^_^

Umm no not that much? I don't know maybe. I had a ping moment with music. And I still loveeeee music soooo much. Doesn't make sense how much I love it :D

Everyday, mostly in the mornings, though. I guess that's when the ping moments are at their strongest, I'm a bit worried that the ping moments may be ADD. x[ When I have those moments I'm usually having a long speach to my friends and then I'll look at something and my mind will say what it was and then it would go blank. They're the worst when they happen in class, it's at random, though so I don't have to worry about being side tracked all the time.

D: oh man. Maybe it IS ADD. That wouldexplain why so few folks know what I'm saying.

When I first saw this thread, I thought you were talking about websites and getting a lot of computers pinging yours randomly. xD

Well...Kinda. The words on the left leg of the pants i'm wearing right now kinda demonstrate that type of thing. "Meaning of thought for nothing is naught but fantasy." I have NO clue what I believed it to mean when I was writing it in line to get my pass into Fanime, but it's there. Another thing which randomly popped into my brain was "the life that is thy death" and "to live a live where life is not." So basically, usually it's philosophical stuff which is open to interpretation which jump into my mind.

I'm not sure if I get 'ping' moments but i do have random impulses.

people hate going into stores with me because they'll stop to look at something and i'll stop with them but by the time they're finished looking i've darted off somewhere else.

Hecka yeah! But in my sect. It called an Holy moment. Because when it happens my face looks like I just met god. Atleast thats how my friend described it.. But I have The ADD so that might come into play and insomnia. So unstable minds generate great things................hehehehehehehehehee......... ....Farily odd parents=Harry potter glasses!!!

sometimes i suddenly feel like eating spaghetti and want to do a paper mache then go biking

then my friend thought i was pregnant.

I get ping moments with food.

But that's cause I'm a glutton.

I'll get random urges for garbonzo beans, frozen corn, fruit loops, chocolate mousse, scones, fried eggs, potato salad, pesto, strawberry milk, mint chocolate truffle bar (from Seattle Chocolates)

Dunno. I once got a craving for flour. yes. Plain. I have nooooo clue why. I'm a weird one.

I have ADD so I have like a two second attention span. XD There's not very much that I get really obsessed with though, it's more like a short interest then I move onto something else. There's a few things, like aquatics that I suddenly took an interest to that I just never lost interest in. Music is another one.

I get them alot... I'll see something and think it's the coolest damned thing ever! And want to know everything about it... every miniscule little detail.
Then I'll find out something I don't like that makes in not perfect anymore and it upsets me lol

So I find something else to obsess with.

I have those all the time. *ping* Ooh, I like chickens!

LOL, i don't know if i stop if i find out something i don't like about it, but I definetly look up all the details~
