The language of flowers is a beautiful thing. Many flowers and plants have special meanings to them, and I'd like to see which one you think fits you!

Victorian Language of Flowers

For me, I choose a Dahlia- instability. I'm very scatter-brained, and I have trouble sticking to plans or ideas, making me very usntable. Also, I can be over-emotional or react improperly to certain events.

They're also beautiful, and I plan on naming a daughter that (and calling her Dollie for short, which I find adorable).

Dunno what else. :3

Currently Whin, which apparently means anger. Hmm. Post-stalking rude Menewshan = ANGRY KEI.

I think that's really cool. I mean. I like them all. I could pick a flower for my every mood. Flowers have always ment something to me, so I'm glad that I found a list with more meanings on it.

Wow, that's quite a list.
I'm a bit too lazy at the moment, so I'll edit this post when I get the time to look through the entire list xD

Thats a really cool list!
I may bookmark it so I can dig through it more later. ^^
I always found things like this interesting for some reason, I think its because I always read into things a lot more than my friends when I was a child.
Nice knowing other people obsess about the little things as much as I do.
To represent me I would choose the Cactus. xD
The site says the Cactus represents warmth, (which I found amusing because normally you don't associate something prickly as being warm) and I feel that I am a warm and cheerful person.
I try to look on the bright side and always try and make time to help my friends when they need it.
But like a cactus you wouldn't suspect that on first glance, because I have a tendency to come off as unemotional and distant.

Interesting.
So, are you supposed to put a certain flower in the house to inspire attributes you would like to have?
I'll have to go with Alyssum, Cereus, and Dogwood to: be recognized for more than just a pretty face, stay sharp but not at the expense of belittling others and be able to take whatever is thrown in my direction.

Well, mostly it was for sending special messages through bouquets. Like, if you wanted to say that you return the person's love but you could never be with them, you'd send them Ambrosia and Anemone.

I know this still applies to certain cultures... like, if you gave some people a bouquet of carnations, they'd think you wish them death.

Haha. Like in Japan. Carnations are funeral flowers. Period.

(Thank you Hell Girl for reminding me of this.. *total manga/comics geek*)

Hmm. I think in my cultures (American and Israeli) there's no flower language thing.. excpet roses are romantic. Especially red. XD

Thats' a really cool site, I should bookmark it. I am often wondering what flowers mean. One time I was working when a woman, I think she was Koren, but don't remember, came up to me and asked. " I have a friend in the hospital, and have been told it is polite to by her flowers. Can you tell me what flowers don't mean death here?" I think she was a student at Cornell.

We finally got her a balloon, as she didn't want to "send the wrong message" with flowers. It was fun but awkward.

there are many different meanings to a flower..but I'd choose:

Quote:
Birch-Meekness.
I'm actually very shy in real life...or..meek ^^"

Quote:
Blackthorn-Difficulty.
..I consider myself a difficult person.
