Halbards/staves are cool. In the Soul Calibur games I always play as Kilik or Seong Mina.
But in more traditional fantasy rpgs I'm a fan of maces. >>' I play wow, and my main is a paladin, so maces are just the way to go. The idea of beating someone with a blunt object on the end of a stick is so ridiculous it's awesome. XD Giant, badass swords are always cool though. In the manga Zombie Powder the main character has a huge chainsaw sword that I've always thought was the greatest thing ever. X3 |

bow staff...
its practical. doesnt look threatening right off the bat. and it has simplicity. takes a lot of practice to maneuver it, you could end up hitting yourself if you are not careful. |
I never really thought about that. The first thing that came into my head was a staff, but the second thing was something strange, like a giant bowling ball! : D (-does evil laugh-) If I wanted to choose a weapon based on my personality, it would probably be a staff, or maybe a spellbook. A giant bowling ball sounds good though. ; ) Then on the other hand, how would I carry it around? : D

I like playing games where I can equip my characters with rods and staves and actually make them strong. (Disgaea, anyone?!) I also like whips and spears. Swords are cool, but way too common to my taste. I'd love to see original and special weapons, invented for some kind of characters. That would be awesome.

My favorite weapon would be a katana. Heavily influenced by Japanese history and anime. Used to watch a lot of Rurouni Kenshin. XD

Hm... I guess I'm a sucker for the generic sword and shield combo in video games, with the bow as back up of course! ^^; I find them easiest to work with. Other than that I created a character on my boyfriend's Soul Caliber game who had this giant ring blade? I really like that weapon for some reason. ^///^

I think that my favorite weapon would be ether a sharpened pencil or a wire hanger....
I think they would be excellent weapons because there are so many of them that if you wanted to you could go to CVS or a drug store and get some ...... and they are so common that they wouldn't be that suspicious... |

also staffs are good cause you can twirl it around and whack people around XD umm whips are fun too, and nunchucks, and what else, i love ridculously huge swords, like ichigo's on bleach, i like most of the weapons they have. and naruto has some cool weapons too ^w^ Quote:

I only have favorite weapons that i actually own, i used to love swords the most, but you know when it comes right down to it nothing really beats the elegance of a halberd. I mean really ... spear meets axe, that's a pretty sexy combination. you get the range benefits of a spear but the melee capabilities of an axe if range is not an option.
Sure it may be a bit hard to use compared to a sword or lighter weapon but hey all weapons have pro's and cons. Next to that can you really deny the simplicity and usefulness of a good strong handgun? i mean sure they are only good for ranged combat but there is something sexy about being able to dual wield handguns. >:3 |
I really like very large scythes. I mean VERY LARGE. As in, the blade is at least as big as the character XD
I also really like large fans, fans in general. But one of my favorite things is magic staffs, especially the elaborate ones with a large spherical gems as a sort of "centerpiece". |
In 'real' life, I prefer bladed mêlée type weapons - usually daggers, sometimes swords, occasionally halberds. I don't really care for ranged weapons, on the whole, although I grant that siege weaponry is pretty cool, especially trebuchets. In gaming (or at least the internet text-based game I hang out on), I am particularly fond of the Blazing Longspear - a fairly decent spear improved by a magical enchantment.
As far as Mene is concerned, I've built my avatar around being a very non-fighting type character . . . I don't even really see her as a mage type. If she were to have a weapon, though, I think it might stylized and fairly elegant . . . some sort of ornate knife perhaps: a stiletto or perhaps something with a slightly curved blade . . . or maybe something that is ostensibly just a piece of jewelery. |

When it comes to guns I have always been a fan of the shotgun. The thing is almost a utility gun! Flame shot, buckshot, slugs, spines, grenades, and even tasers. While I do love the distinctive sound of the pump action, appreciate the classic feel of breach loading, or even amuse myself with a lever pull to the quick shot I am most amazed by the most recent incarnation. The Pancor Jackhammer, ten rounds per clip, fully automatic at four rounds a second, and capable to be mounted and remote fired. I love the shotgun.
Science fictional I adore the plasma weaponry. Nothing like covering your opponent in ionized gas of terrible hat and attachment to watch him scream and melt, unable to remove the terrible substance before it burns through him totally. Sure less elegant than your typical laser...but I prefer that. In classical weaponry I have always been a fan of the well trained longbow, when your enemy never reaches you, he is doomed. Assured, well trained bowmen were rare back then, that made them even more deadly. In melee I love the spear, range, strategy, and elegance. Finally if you and me were to meet in a street fight give me a nailbat. A powerful, thick, oak, baseball bat heavily covered with long, deadly nails. If you don't fear yet...you will. Also I've always been a fan of psychokinesis or telekinesis, nothing like the mind to totally screw your enemy. |
I like leather whips. (I don't even know if that could be classed as a weapon XD)
