I fainted once in my life. Came close another time.

The "close" time was when I was getting an MRI. I didn't realize I had to have an injection of the ink stuff, and was scared of needles still. I had no numbing cream, and they couldn't find the vein. I had to lay down for a while. It was NOT fun.

The time I did faint, I guess I was technically anorexic. I had been feeling dizzy for days, and nauseous for weeks. I was eating a bunch, but apparently I wasn't absorbing any of it. They were doing both a blood draw, and a fingertip poke to see what was wrong. My veins were shrunken, and that was hard enough to get the needle in. they finally got it in, (after the 3rd poke) and I was really nauseous and dizzy. The lab guy gave me a garbage can in case I had to throw up, and told me to put my head down a bit. He poked my finger and that was it. I felt HORRIBLY nauseous, and then I kinda came too a bit, and felt a whole lot better. He asked me if I was ok, and told me I fainted sitting up, and the blood draw was over. He helped me over to a bed. I still didn't realize I'd fainted. It took me a bit to understand. But I felt a lot better.

turns out, that was the Crohn's.. I was in the hosptial a few days later.

@KeiKei: i never herd of getting injected with ink during an MRI but it sounds gross! wait like squid ink?

KeiKei Shunu 06-05-2008 02:23 PM

No, it's some weird dye that shows up in the scan. It helps them see some stuff. But depending on what the MRI is for, they may or may not use it. ;3

I didn't think they would.. >.>

It hurt!

But I'm fine with needles now. I wouldn't faint from that. XD

I'll admit, at first, I thought the title said, "Farting hurts!" I was just like, "Are you kidding me?!" -does a double glance back-

Anyways, I agree, FAINTing hurts. C; I'm fainted plenty of times during junior high and high school. Was actually sent to the hospital three times because I fainted. The school said they wasn't allowed to just send me to the sick room if something like that occurs. There is some sort of rule or law saying that they must send the person to the ER, even if the person comes to, soon after. I'll tell you, I never did like all those trips into the ambulance coming out of the school. EVERYONE looks of course when something like that is going on. And I don't like people just looking at me. ;'C

Owie.

I've never fainted before, but I've come close several times. It was drug-induced..everything went black for a minute, and then it went back to normal. Scared the hell outta me the first time it happened. I thought I'd gone blind.

When I was a Freshman in High School, my friend was over at my house and we were getting ready to film a movie for history class. Right before we left, she leaned over my shoulder into the fridge and said "oh my god", then she just fell on me...it was scary. She woke up crying and didn't know where she was. We had to call her parents but they hardly spoke a word of English. They said she was on her period and hadn't eaten or drank all day, and it was well over 90 degrees outside.

The only time I ever feinted was when I was getting blood drawn for some tests. I felt my head getting heavier, then the next thing I knew I woke up and there were two nurses and my mom standing around me yelling at eachother, haha. And my shoes were on the floor....somehow they fell off. Of course, I knew what happened right away so I woke up and started laughing.

I've never fainted before and I fear it with a passion. My boyfriend has fainted several times in the past and I'm always afraid he'll faint out on me.

Unthreaded Bobbin 06-05-2008 11:08 PM

Wow. Ive only almost fainted once.

That sounds intense.

Rolling Box 06-06-2008 03:57 AM

I've blacked-out before.
Hit my head on a wooden chair on my way down too :o

I've never fainted, but I have passed out. I don't ever drink alcohol anymore.

Passing from alcohol I don't find to be scary at all, because you know what you passed out from. But when you're not intoxicated and you black out, its terrifying.

sutebi 06-06-2008 05:36 PM

@Rolling Box: wow that must of hurt a lot if i were there i would of been freaking out :)

a_shy_girl_1999 06-06-2008 06:07 PM

My last experience was cought before i went down all the way. It happened my first day doing volunteer work at the hospital. I was working in the ER and they called me one of the patients room so I can help the nurse restrain a patient while the nursing assistant was out to look for a arm restrainer (I didn't know where it was). When the nurse was putting the IV in I started to feel dizzy, but not enough to pull back out of the room ...well I should have, but the nurse was already putting it in and I couldn't just leave. After she finished I was releaved ... but then she took a long tube measured it and cut it. put some stuff on the end and put it down the patients nose and I freaked out. My head was spinning and I felt faint and dizzy and I walked away. I couldn't even walk strait and then I remember I hit the side of the wall. I don't remember much after that except I was then sitting in a chair in the room with the nurse and nurse assistant.

All I know ... I was very wrong when I said I could handle it ... lol
I also get faint when I have to give blood for tests or have iv's put in for surgery(only two times). I don't like needles.

RainbowSuicide 06-06-2008 06:10 PM

OUCH.... thats all I can say, since I've never fainted I dont really know what it's like so...um...^^;

Klaw 06-06-2008 06:17 PM

Ergh, that's gotta suck..

I've only fainted once, from what I can remember..I was standing up from my desk to go get dressed or take a bath or whatever, and my mom happened to walk in just as I fell..She said I was just holding onto a chair funny like I was being silly, when the whole time I was actually blacked out, due to getting up way too fast making me dizzy I guess..

Not sure how long I was out, but OW. that damn chair hurt!I hit it VERY hard..Next thing I knew I woke up and my mom was reaching her hand down to help me up..It felt like a few seconds but I'd bet it was a good minute or two.never happened again, luckily.Have felt very close to fainting before..

Never fainted but I did almost faint a few times by now.
Most of the times were when I was taking blood. >__>;; Ugh, how I hate that.

Somehow, the feeling of going to faint makes me really nauseous and that sort of 'wakes me up' and keeps me from going out.

Do you have any idea what caused you to black out? Had too little fresh air or drank too little water? Hmm?

Klaw 06-07-2008 12:09 AM

@Username Censored
If you happen to be speaking to me, I'm not sure why I fainted. It's never happened again luckily, but I think I just shocked my body by getting up WAY too fast.I remember I made it about halfway across the room, then I blacked out..

But that was 2-3 years ago, so I'm not too sure.

As it turns out i fell forward so now my cheek is busted up, my teeth almost went through my upper lip, and my shoulder is bruised up from the impact so yeah.

So i want to know:
Any of your fainting experiences/or if you had friends that fainted?
Any injuries acquired from fainting?
Has anyone ever played any of those fainting games?
Any interesting reactions from people around you?

Once, when I was five, I got knocked in by a giant metal door. I remember, the last few seconds before blacking out, I heard people screaming and someone ask if I had died. Before I blacked out, I didn't remember feeling pain, but when I awoke, I was in alot of it. I literally killed two of my teeth. I hadn't knocked them out, but, I'd hit the nerves somehow so hard that the teeth died and turned a grayish-blackish color and fell out.

Oh my goodness....
Fainting is so embarrassing!
I fainted, for the first time, a week or so ago, but I was at school....
And I was talking to a teacher!

She says I almost knocked her over.

> ___ <;;;

I hit my head and since then I've been a bit more headache prone, but that's about it.

It was bad, because when I came to, everyone was stanging around me starring.
I was just sitting there, trying to firgure out how the heck I wound up on the floor, and why everyone was looking all bug eyed at me.

x P

Fainting for the lose.
