My step-dad is currently in the hospital with three brain tumors. They're going to operate on him tomorrow. His chances aren't good. I didn't really like him, but this is really serious and it's tearing up my mom. Please pray to whatever deity you believe in for him.

I'm sorry to hear about your stepfather. I don't pray but, I will keep him in my thoughts and hope for the best for him. Maybe if he pulls through, the two of you will get along better.

Aw! I hate my stepdad, and my uncle is going through a hard time in the hospital also so I do know how you feel. I'm talkin' tubes and induced coma here. And a neat self turning bed. It looks horrible, please keep him in your prayers also.

I'll hope that he will get through the surgery. Surgery sure is a scary thought.

I'm sorry to hear about your step-father. You might not like him much but he's still a presence in your life that would be odd to live without. I hope he pulls through. I don't pray but I'll keep up high hopes for you.
Since the topic is on death... a good friend of mine I'd met on Zantarni passed away on Christmas day before last. We might not have known each other in real life but it still affected me a lot when I learned of it because we had become good friends. Was sorta odd on Christmas day this year knowing that my friend had died on the surgery table exactly one year ago to that day. :(

Thanks. I just realized.. all the deaths I've experienced.. all of them were very near Christmas.. usually a week or two later however. Or it's just my memory focusing on how many were close to such a holiday a lot of people celebrate.
What's sad about my friend was.. if he knew the symptoms or even just went in because of the amount of headaches/nosebleeds he had they might have got it in time. That's the sad part about it. I didn't even learn of his death until a few weeks later when one of his other friends that knew him closely learned of it somehow.

I'll offer a prayer to the godess for him.
Its quite nice of you t osay even though you dislike him, you still care enough to offer prayers. Though mainly for your mother I am guessing.
Most of the people I love die, all around the december january area. This year it was my grandfather who I was close to, who knows about this year. But all will be good. As long as you have memories of that person and can call them to you with your heart, they are never gone. Never. And they will always be there if you let them. Just remember that.

I (like most people in here, I guess) very rarely pray. But I will for your stepfather.
I'm really sorry to hear that. One tumor is more than bad enough. Three is really scary.
I really hope he pulls through, and do remember that there IS a chance. :3
I have pretty high confidence in most doctors (not saying that I think that he has 100% success rate) because I've spent almost half my life in and out of the local Children's Hospital.
I know his doctors will try their hardest.
I actually, about 3 months ago, found out that my Uncle (who is no longer technically related to me, my Aunt and he got divorced) was diagnosed fairly late with cancer. It has progressed too far, and there is nothing they can do, but try to decrease his pain. I'm a bit shocked, and upset, but I hadn't really known him too much.
I'm kinda worried for my cousins though. Sam is 14, and Hannah is 12.. it'll be really hard for them, especially Sam, considering he's at a point in life where his dad is pretty damned important. :c
At least they have a very supportive and loving step-dad, but, as Sam apparently keeps telling Uncle Nick, he's not their father, he never will be. Sam likes him as a person, but he's really having a hard time with realizing that he's not going to have his dad at all pretty soon.

I just got back from the hospital. It turns out the tumors are inoperable. The good news is that it's lymphoma, which can be treated with chemotherapy and radiation. So it's the best kind of inoperable brain cancer. If all goes well, he'll be discharged tomorrow. He's got a long road ahead of him, but there's some light there now. Thank you all for your prayers.
Also, I'm so sorry about your uncle. I'll pray for his family.
