Ok so I have to write a paper and I am not happy about it. Its for my Early American Literature class and it is soooo boring. The professor expects me to make a "claim" about something to do with a literary movement from this timer period and then relate it to the texts we are reading for class.
I dont care enough about this subject, class, or paper to make a "claim".
I claim that this paper is dumb. :(

I had to do two or three papers when I was in high school. It was a LOT of work, researching, footnotes, bibliography and all that. We had a specific criteria to follow when writing papers, and I followed it to the letter. Plus, I'm a good writer, so I always got 90% or higher on all of the papers.

I hate writing papers too, especially when you have to do all the extra source garbage.

I have to write a 5 page one for psychology but I keep putting it off. :lol:

Ugh..I hate research papers. I'm so glad I don't have to write any for a couple months.

This kind of makes me glad that I don't go to school anymore, the only thing I liked about school was being with my friends.

Papers are awful! My new teacher for US History 1 assigns papers as our only homework, but they suck! I never get good grades ever and I pretty much copy his notes word for word like my friends do and they get 100's. I always get like an 80 :(

I actually like writing papers, but I procrastinate so much. Deciding to do it is the painful part for me. xD

I hate researching for a topic, but writing them and getting them done is that part that's easy for me. :]

Writing papers is annoying.
My college English instructor always wanted us to write 4-5 pages.
Which didn't include the cover page, contents page, or sources page...

Why am I the only person to vote I love them?!? This is learning people! Expanding your brainsss!!! Try working in a grocery store for a year and then see how much you want to write that paper

I sucked at them REALLY bad... but I did them. Not well though! XD

I still think I hate them and am better off doing creative writing of some sort!

Yeah, ditto.
I love writing, but I don't usually have a lot of time to do it anymore. Not to mention I am always getting ideas when I am at work, but by the time I get home I am too tired and can't remember anymore.
Research can be extremely fun and interesting. Although, I really did start to hate it when we had to put it in MLA format. I would rather just research things to learn, and not have to prove where I got it from.

oh papers... they still make me cringe when I think about some of the things they asked us to do and how they always wanted us to relate this and that to whatever we were doing at the time. but for some reason I always do worse when they let me pick my own topic :(

I have two papers due Monday. ones a research paper on the negative effects of advertising and the other is a paper on parallel themes of romeo and juliet. and im procrastinating right now and i just cant wait to get these over with *dies on the inside* :headdesk:
i feel like i have writers block but i have two days so tonight im staying up until i finish one and get the other at least half way finished (never gonna happen)

What I do is I just ramble about the subject. I normally get a decent mark. I don't put that much effort in to them either.

I had to do a paper every two weeks in high school, and now in college I have to do one once a week, sometimes twice, so count your blessings.

Worst paper I ever had to do though was a convincing letter about how to be happy. Total bullshit. I didn't do it.

I did about fifteen papers this semester, but ten of them were ridiculously easy papers for my women's studies class, and two other ones were only three to four pages. I actually love writing argumentative papers. Research papers are boring, but I haven't done one of those since high school.

Worst paper I had to write was a letter to someone who "made a difference in my life". I wrote a passive aggressive letter to my worst teacher ever. I felt like a horrible person afterwards.

At least you don't have to make a children's book within 5 days time. S:
What's worse is I have to read my book and analyze it-- both of these assignments are due on the same day. :gonk:

@iC[a]ndy - Yeah, the hardest class for education majors at my university is the children's literature class, where they have to write a children's book. We get a lot of students asking for help with that where I work.

@the_paper_crane - lol. I wrote a twelve page paper on Moby-Dick relating the novel to epic and religious sources. It filled out so many pages.

research papers are stressful for me..
it's even harder for me this year because..
our research papers have to be handwritten no matter how long or short it is..
