We have a cupboard to keep our trash in. We never actually keep it in that cupboard. It's always sitting out in the kitchen somewhere. Today I went to put something in it and it wasn't there. I couldn't figure out where the heck the trash can went! Then my brother opened the cupboard that it's supposed to be in and there it was. I felt really smart ^_^;;

So do you have trouble finding things when they're put in their proper place or the most obvious location?

I have that a lot of times. D: Just because I don't pay enough attention.

Funny thing is; I always find it at the last place I check.. :B

Yeah, I actually did that just today! I was looking for a cereal bowl and my mom came up behind me saying they were in the cupboard on the bowl shelf! I choose to believe that I couldn't find a bowl because nothing is ever where it is supposed to be in my house. I hope I'm not just soothing my own ego though ^-^;;

I do things like this all the time. I was looking for my school I.D. and metro card everywhere and finally I looked in my wallet and it turned out for once I had put them away.

Like I said, that trash can is never in the cupboard. So I stood there genuinely confused as to wear it could have gone. It just never occured to me that it would actually be in its place! But in a house where nothing is where it should be, like you said, it's like a miracle when something ends up in its place!

If my glasses are actually put up, I can't find them in the morning. My grandmother thinks she's helping by moving them, but....gah!

I'm such a messy person that the place where anything is supposed to be is the last place I look.

I know how you feel! Once I spent hours looking for them when they were sitting on top of my head. I found this out because I looked in the mirror while I was scanning my desk.

I do that a lot with shoes!
My house mate is prone to moving them to the shoe rack but I hate using the shoe rack so I hunt around to where I believe my shoes should be and eventually find them sitting on the shoe rack.

Oh man. I do stuff like that all the time.
Which is why I hate cleaning up my room. 'Cause then I can't find anything. D:
Like, yesterday. I couldn't find my bottle of Febreeze. I looked all over the house for it. & It was on my book shelf, where it was supposed to be XD
& then, I lost all of my headbands, because I put them in the box that they go in. XD

HAH! That's nothing compared to what I've done. Just to day I spent an hour looking for my camera. Go figure it was in the case...where it's supposed to be. OH! Or when I went to answer my cell phone and couldn't find it...I still can't find the damn thing. I'm sure it's dead by now...it's been five days. o_o'

Yesterday I spent a LONG time looking for the remote to the tv...it was on top of the damn tv. T_T I'm so cluttered, but at least I'm an organized clutter. XD

If a OCD person walked into my room they would die of instant shock. <<' But hey...I know where everything...most of the time.

And yes...I'm one of the people who can't find the pencil that's on their ear....

All the time. My husband is worst, he can never find the ketchup in the fridge, even though we own storage boxes bigger then our tiny fridge.

my mother always cleans my room and puts everything in "logical places". personally, i like how i have my room set up. it's messy, yet organized. i can always find everything. "where's my mp3? oh yeah. under my pile of drawings. o 3o" so yeah. i'm just that sort of person.
so ofcourse, when my mother cleans my room, i have so much trouble finding things. "mother?" "yeees?" "where's the book i was getting to?" ".. on your bookshelf?" "why? i left it under my bed! >:U"
you can probably see how annoying that was for the both of us. x3
my mother doesn't clean my room anymore.

Actually, I can never find where I put anything. I have the memory/attention span of four goldfish, so I always forget... This is why I can't leave my phone on silent. I can never find it that way... D :

Oh man, I know how y'all feel. One time the phone was ringing and I couldn't find the phone...turns out it was in my hand...-.- That happens to me a lot.... DX

Oh and when I'm leaving for school, I'll flip the whole house over trying to find my ID for school and then when I finally give up and go to school and complain about not being able to find it; my best friend looks at me incredulously and points to my pocket and says, "You have it safety-pinned right there..."

Oh aha. I just did something like this again XD
I have a Spongebob CD wallet that has all of my soundtracks in it. It had been missing for about a month, & I was getting so mad about not being able to find it. 'Cause that has like...over 200$ worth of CDs in it.
So, I give up & start to clean my room ('cause I was tripping over things. that's the only time that i actually clean it XD). I start with my desk & guess what was in my desk, where it was supossed to be? XD
I was so glad that I found it. & Then I felt like a complete idiot 'cause the only place that I didn't look for the CD wallet was right there. XD n_n;

This happens to me all the time.

I'll be looking for something, and open the pantry or cupboard to reach for it, and it won't be there. No one will have touched it, and it might be a few inches another way, but it sends me into a momentary state of panic and distress when I don't have it immediately. Sounds silly, but when you start to go frantic, you never see it.

I have this terrible habit of piling all my clothes up in baskets on a spare bed instead of folding them and setting them away like I should. When I need a particular clothing item, I can never find it even when I just saw it. I'll take off a jacket, and poof! It's gone suddenly and I don't know what to do.
