Unless you've led a very sheltered life or are imparied in some way, I find it hard to see how you could not recognize acne or acne scars.
I haven't had that problem with people. I'm not from a 'race of perfect complexioned people'. :B Certainly not. But acne's never been a problem for me. I get that from my mom, she was the same. When my friends were breaking out in junior high and high school, I never did. That's not to say I haven't gotten the odd pimple here in there, but i've had an outbreak. |
That use to happen to me all the time at work a few years back. I had pretty bad acne on my face, but come on. I was like 17. It was perfectly normal. But no. I had one of my managers grab me by my arm and whip me around while exclaiming, "Good lord! Would you look at your face..."
Great. Because I was soooo positive with my appearance in the first place. I hated that woman. |
I love how people assume that everyone gets acne. They don't.
I have never seen anyone with acne before. The odd spot or two but not actually acne. And no one except my mum with scars. Here's a tip, don't scratch them and then you won't get that kind of reaction. |
I have a birthmark on my nose. Right on that spot on the bridge where's a bump.
When I was a baby it was BRIGHT red and raised. But now it's very faint and it's even. One day my great uncle was looking at me and was like "What's on your nose? Are you okay? Is that a pimple or something?" And I had no idea what he was talking about. Since my birthmark is so faint, I barely ever think about it. And my mom was like "That's her birthmark... it's always been there...." and my uncle was like "I don't remember that...." It was odd. He's seen me A LOT over my life. It's not like we're estranged or something. I see him about once a month. But, in his defense, he does have a slight mental condition. *shrug* |
I don't have acne problems, I get the occasional pimple but that's it. However, the webbing between my toes and fingers sometimes get inflamed, and really itchy. (I've went to a doctor, and it's not athletes foot, he says it's a small case of psoriasis) and I scratch them, because they're itchy, but pain is better than the feeling of itch, so I scratch them 'til they're raw...and sometimes bleeding.
I call them my red triangles. Oh and in response to Cherry's post, I have this birthmark on the right side of my chin, and it's allways been there. It's not discolored or anything, it's just a slightly raised little strip, (it looks like a KFC chicken strip actually) and it's always been there. And people are always telling my that I have dirt on my face, but it's my birthmark, and my Dad, my Dad, a couple of weeks ago noticed it for the first time. |
Wynna - Wow. XD Your dad's really observant.... XD
(Oh, and hi! I haven't seen you around in forever) Oh, and somewhat on topic.... So, you know how some short socks have little pom poms on the back? Well, I had a pair that had little piggies on the back. And one day I was wearing those, and I guess my pants were short or something, because my friend is like "Did you know there are pigs on the back of your shoes?" ... I had the urge to be like "NO! REALLY? SERIOUSLY? I HAD NO IDEA. WONDER HOW THOSE GOT THERE. NOT LIKE I PUT THEM ON." But instead I was nice and I just looked at him like he was retarded and was like "Yeah...?" |

People are ignorant and unaware of it these days. How else could you have the capacity to ask someone a stupid question like that? I mean, even if it were a tropical jungle disease with boils and a rash, it's rude to ask.
I've had an experience where someone asked me what was on my arm... but it wasn't acne they were asking about. Not the same situation, but the same stupidity. |
