I have really short hair for a girl, and sometimes my chest can look really flat under a T-shirt. No one at school has seen my short hair cut yet, so I bet when I return a few people will think I'm a guy at first before they recognise me. I'm kinda looking forward to that just because it'll be amusing. But if it continues for too long, I'd get very annoyed.

I bet it's really frustrating. But sometimes people just don't care. I knew a boy who just didn't say anything for a week as someone else assumed he was female. I don't think he was transsexual but it was funny after the other boy found out that this hot chick he was hitting on for a week was a boy. Ambiguous name are hilarious. Like Chris or Jamie. People make too many assumptions but then again some assumptions are correct. And no matter how much you hate it-the way you look affects what people think of you. Frankly I think short-haired butchy girls are sexy and I can tell the difference between a butch girl and a boy.

No but my husband often is. I am sure you can find my many stories about it. Last night we went out to dinner and was greeted as ladies. I have to g to the mall today, I am sure at least one of the many cell phone sellers will call out to us as ladies.
Personally I think it would be fun to enter him in a wet tee shirt contest. The judges would have nightmares afterwards. Giggle |
Oh! This one time, I was doing a school play, and I had to wear a hat (sombrero BD) and a toupee. Well, I just put all my hair up in a ponytail in the sombrero and put the toupee on under it, so it looked like I ahd really sort hair and bangs. And then I had on this blue suit and tie.
All my friends kept telling me I looked very manly. Even though I'm short. And fyi I was Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite xD |
i remember being mistaken for a guy. it was in the airport. the guy sitting behind me told his child to stop looking at the cat butts on "that guy's" shirt.
nice neon avatar, btw. |
I've never been called a boy before because of my really long hair o____o
|
nope never. XD
|
Not that I remember, though I've seen pictures of myself at 2 or 3 and I looked pretty girly. Probably because my parents dressed me in my sister's manlier hand-me-downs. xD
I also look very girly in baseball caps, so I never wear 'em. xP |
Even though I often dress gender neutral...never ever...I have boobs and I guess it's unmistable.
|
Unfortunately I have been called "Sir" quite a few times in person and on the phone before people realize I'm a girl. =___= I don't have a deep voice but it's not high-pitched either. I'm almost 6 ft tall and have broad shoulders so somehow they mistake me for a man before actually looking at me and realizing I have a very obvious female chest, lol.
|
I have never been mistaken for a boy after I hit puberty, especially since there is the obvious feature of 40D breasts. xD But when I was a kid, I'm sure there could have been some time that I was mistaken for a boy, especially since I was a big tomboy and I liked short hair.
|
No, i have never been mistaken, well at least no one said it to my face xD
My friend told me though that her sister's friend saw a photo of her and thought she was a boy, and she also though her brother was a girl. She also said she was wearing girly clothes too so it was funny xD I have seen some people who i couldn't tell if they were a boy or girl. I remember there was this one girl (well i know now) in middleschool who when i saw for the first time i had no clue since she had hair that was very short like a guy's, was very flat-chested/shapeless, and her face didn't look feminine, more boyish. Now i feel kind of bad for thinking that now ^^; |
I've never been mistaken for a boy.. but not because I look like a girl or anything. I'm a plain jane. But started to develop really early... and not have really big boobs. People are always thinking they aren't real, which annoys me even more.
|
I'm always mistaken as a guy. I guess that's because I dress like one and somewhat consider myself genderless. I'm a mix I suppose.
|
LOL people seem to think I'm a boy sometimes. But then, I'm obviously not. I'm very feminine. o_o
|
I did. LOL. What happened is I had chopped off my hair in my sleep (yeah, pretty crazy sleepwalking story), and nobody at school knew who I was. xD So one of my more...uhh...slutty? friends walked up behind me (not realizing it was me) and was like "hey there, sexy. You knew to the school?" when I turned around she looked like she'd died right there. xD It was pretty classic. lol

Happens to my younger brother all the time.
He's only just 18, but he often gets that kind of thing. Generally from bus drivers, oddly enough. |
Actually... all my middle/high school life. For P.E. I changed in the stalls, so everyone for some reason thought I was "secretly a girl" or something >.>"
Then again... my name is for both gender so that doesn't help me argue it >.< |
In the thrift store .. i had my hair in a pony tail and i was wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans and this old lady said to my parents "Oh and is that your older brother?" then i though if she was talking to me,it was funny and my sister said"OMG YOUR A BOY?! I LET YOU WASH ME!" then i had to convince her im a Girl not a BOY
|
suprisingly not!
but a LOT of my boyfriends have. which i find really funny (: |
My girlfriend jokes that I look like a girl :x
|
Nope. Well, not to my knowledge...anyway.
|
i have not been mistaken for the opposite sex before, though my hair seems a bit confusing ( its quite too short, its like a boyish cut )
|
Its never happened to me but my old neighbor had that problem with her voice. She has a real low husky voice. She'd go thru a drive thru, finish her order, and they'd say "Anything else sir?" Totally peeved her. She smokes too,so I can only imagine what she's gonna sound like at 60.

I;ve been mistaken as a guy on the internet. Of course, I was on my mule on Gaia so it's understandable. ^^;
As for real life... Only once can I recall, and that was because I was cosplaying a guy at a convention. The girl was pretty ditsy I think, considering I had long hair and female parts. >>; I can't really think of a time that someone mistakened me as a guy when I wasn't on Gaia or in real life. *shrugs* I have mistakened a guy as a girl before though, since he was EXTREMELY girly.
