Dare I ask?

Which American Presidential Canidate do you like best, Senetor Obama, or Senetor McCain? Why them?

Personally, I like Obama, if only because his running mate isn't a complete and total moron.

I don't really like either, but my parents want McCain to win. I think Palin is alright, I mean, she's not creepy and a "cheeseball" (quote), like Biden. Jk, he's not. I don't like elections, because everyone has to throw insults at each other. I mean, I know they're trying to win, but I already get people insulting/hurting others enough around here, and elections just raise it all up, with all of the emotional/political oppositions. I just want it to be over, but of course election day is the day after my birthday, so it'll be crazy. Sorry for ranting, bye. =3

I know I'm not voting for Obama, but I don't know if I want to vote for McCain. I may end up not voting at all.

PS: This thread will probably get locked, or turn into a mess

I'm a Democratic, so Obama. The fact that he just.. seems so much nicer than McCain. I was for Hilary before, but since she got voted out, I moved over to Obama. It might sound stupid for my reasoning, but.. that's my reasoning.

My parents are voting for McCain. My friends are voting for Obama. And I am thanking anything that is holy that Im not 18 yet and dont have to vote. I hate all of the candidates. When I turn 18 I will beneither republican nor democrat because I hate the governement. Im sick of McCain's "Oh, i was in the war, im your best choice," crap. And I don't know why I hate Obama. I never liked Hilary. And the only person I see with any speaking skill swhatsoever is Palin. (Please note that this last opinion is because I refused to watch anything related to politics, so I only got snippets of speeches.)

@Smellerbee: Well, if it does, it does, but hopefully people will have the common sense to be polite about it. After all, just because some one likes someone else better doesn't make them an idiot, or racist, or whatever, it just means they have a difference of opinion for whatever reason.

@Lt. Summers: You know, I didn't like Obama either, and I still don't know why, but I like a lot of his policies (Okay, he's just quoting Democratic policies which I support anyway, but...), and I like that you actually know who his wife and kids are. You don't get that with McCain. I don't know much about Biden though. McCain, I do like well enough because he has more experience with forgein policy, but Palin, I have absolutely no confidence in. I've seen a few political interviews with her, and I couldn't help but groan. I quote, "Well, we should be friends with Russia because they're our neighbors." I didn't get to see the running mate debate, but I don't like what I've heard from my friends and family.

Definitely an Obama supporter here. His policies just make so much more sense than McCain's. I really just foresee McCain driving the country into the ground more; he's apparently going to try to juggle all the country's problems at once, which will end in nothing getting done. He wants all these tax cuts that just result in us going farther and farther into an economic crisis-- no one likes higher taxes, but how else is the government going to get any money? Seriously?

And then... there's Palin. The woman is simply an idiot. She obviously has no idea what she's talking about, no political experience, and the only fucking word she knows is maverick. :\
There's a possibility that this woman could become president, especially since McCain is about 400 years old. I would MUCH rather have Biden as president than Palin. MUCH.

Of course, I can't vote, so I guess ultimately my opinion is irrelevant.

personally, i prefer Obama. It's not because he's black or anything; which is a great thing if he's elected president. But because he want to change from the way we're heading. Like the bailing out wal-streat for 700 billion dollars. you know we have to be fucked if wal-street needs money. He has plain to turn us around. i don't know about you but i don't want to live through a depression.

as for McCain, i can't say i like him all that much. he doesn't really see anything wrong with loaning wal-street 700 billion dollars. he has no real plain together. if he is elected i don't really see any change happening to our nation.

but it really doesn't matter what i think i'm not going to be able to vote for another three year. :x

I think their both terrible in their own ways.

Basically..

Obama is too inexperienced and by the looks of it he's going to break a lot of promises.

McCains too stubborn and is very unlucky and indecisive when it comes to decisions...

i don't know which is worse..

but this election is all about whos worse.. but whos less worse to run the US?[/b]

Honestly, I don't want either. XD

But I am a moderate republican, and I do like Sarah Palin. Though, if anything. I wanted Hilary Clinton to vote.

I loved Hilary Clinton. She was a strong leader and she would of been a great president. I just don't see the same spark in neither Obama nor McCain. I also think Obama stole some of Clinton's ideas, which in the end made me frustrated at the fact he wasn't original with his own ideas.

Also, she would of been a great leader and possibly get us out of this economic crisis, Obama may do the same as well... I don't know about McCain. I think he's just going to let the economic crisis continue so that way evolution takes it's course and find another great depression.

Either way, I hope Clinton comes back in 2012. :3 I also hope that whoever gets into the White House, they will do a decent job for us. I really don't want to stay in an economic crisis for another 5-10 years. ._. Hopefully at least McCain or Obama can reverse this.

I'm afraid of what will happen.
I have my ballot, but I'm afraid to vote. My dad acts like it will be the end of the world if Obama wins. My boyfriend and roommates act like it will be the end of the world is McCain wins.

I might just vote independent.

-Wobbly raises hand up-:(
My parents are voting for Mccain. I completely agree with them on who they're voting for. Obama is very inexperienced, he worked in training Acorn workers, he was one of Bill aires associates, he wants to raise taxes, and was under Rev. Wrights hate church for 20 YEARS, he wants to sit down with foreign leaders without pre-conditions, and his running mate is a complete idiot. xD

I have never voted because I don't like politics. However, I registered and voted this year-mail in ballot-because this is just too important of an election to sit out of.
McCain can't seem to make up his mind about...well, anything. But never mind him, because he has cancer and there is a fairly good chance that he will die in the next four years. Let's move to Palin...where to start?!
I'm all for a woman president or VP, but not THIS woman. She has no idea what is going on around her. When asked, "How does it feel to be running for VP?" who says, "Oh I don't know, what does the VP do?" She doesn't make sense when she talks, she's close minded, and she wants to deny women rights that we have fought years and years for to get.
I don't want this woman running the white house. Hell, I don't even want this woman touring the white house. She needs to gather her complete lack of knowledge, grab her PREGNANT 'oh, abstinence works' 17 year old daughter, and go back to Alaska.

By the way, I'm sure someone else has already said this, but there are other candidates besides Obama and McCain...

I'm voting for Obama. I'm not going to get into it right now, I've had enough of debating with my friends / family / classmates.

Edit: not trying to sound snarky or anything. It's 5am and I've yet to go to bed

Well, in my opinion McCain is the better candidate. Obama just says what people want to hear not what is actually best for the country in the long run. He has absolutely no experience. Let's break it downnnn...
Socialized medical care sounds good in theory but really you'd be getting really bad medical care. Yeah it's free but why do you think Canadians come over the border for surgery? They have to wait forever for doctor appointments and the care they get is sub-par. On the subject of taxes, my dad works and my mother is unemployed. We have a family of six and life in a place with taxes that are already high. My dad is the only one providing for this 6-person family. There are 4 kids here that are aiming for a higher education and that is a lot for one working family member to support. My dad has a high-paying job but it is enough for us to get by. We would get taxed a lot because of his income even though we need the money for college and medical care (my family has a lot of doctors). If we will be taxed a lot more why should my dad have to support the millions of unemployed people in addition to the 6 people in my family?
Back to the topic of medical care, Obama has a policy he would like to introduce that makes owners of small companies provide medical care for the workers or something along those lines. My friend's dad owns a small company with her uncle who is a smoker and in general bad health. Why should her dad have to pay for his health care if all of his issues were self-inflicted?
Obama also wants to stop outsourcing jobs... he doesn't realize that if he stops that the price of already expensive things such as electronics will go up because people here want to be paid more...therefore, accomplishing nothing. If someone is voting Obama because they think that McCain will keep us in the Middle East longer, that's ridiculous. McCain has had so much war experience that he understands what it is like to be one of those troops. Why would anyone who endured that want to put more people through it? McCain will do what he would want the president to do if he was still one of those soldiers.
Another thing, if McCain was really on the verge of death, he wouldn't have been able to put up with this campaign. It's a lot of work and a lot of travel and if he wasn't ready for presidency he wouldn't be able to handle this. To anyone who cares about Israel, the Obama campaign is completely against helping them. Both Biden and Obama said they don't want to help Israel anymore.

This election is about the economy, not social issues.
If it were about social issues I would be prObama because I am a major advocate of gay rights and pro-choice.

I voted for Obama. I am SO glad he won. SOOOOOOO glad.

He's for people like me. The student who can't afford school without aid. He was the one that called out against the stereotype of young people's apathy. He called out to the people I'm surrounded by.

I won't talk about Palin. As a woman, I'd like to see a woman in charge, but not her.

Say hello to our first African-American president~

Edit: well, if you think about economy, many said that McCain would lose if he kept going along the lines he was going. And he.. well.. lost.
