i just kind of skipped over the bullshit people believe that you posted in the beginning. i used to be a huge pot head. but unforeseen events lead to me quitting. however, i still support the government legalizing. there is a lot of talk in many states of legalizing it! *dancey dance* and the state i live in is one of them.. i hope to talk to someone about opening up a dispensary! ^^ there are a LOT of benefits of legalizing marijuana. including all of the things you mentioned above. there is also the fact that it grows so quickly and can be used so many ways. such as to make clothing, paper, hygiene products, butters, etc. also, legalizing would prevent twelve year olds from getting their hands on it. trust me, it's happening because my brother first got pot from the dealer down the street. let me assure you that i had a talk with him. this was eleven years ago. sorry i didn't read through the last eleven pages, but i would like to comment on CiaoPinkZebra's post. the reason i don't smoke anymore is because it caused me to have anxiety attacks. but i have to disagree with your statement that it could be laced with other substances. i'm sure the government would eliminate that. |

I think you should look up the real reasons it was abolished in the first place (hint: It had nothing to do with it being used as a drug; in fact, its most popular use before its criminalization was for paper manufacturing) |
Hell yes.
I am bipolar, and after 4 years of experimenting with pills that have done nothing but give me horrible side effects, I started smoking weed. No other medicine has helped me as much as weed has. My mood swings are less common AND less intense, it pulled me out of a very deep, suicidal depression, and as a person? I feel more insightful...I feel like everything has a deeper meaning and I'm out to find what it is. I am just a happier person, with a more open mind. "The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world." - Carl Sagan. This. It was illegal because the cotton companies back in the 30's felt threatened by hemp. It is the growth and prosperity of the nation, in a sense that it is a very amazing product that would make billions. So, they set out to make weed out to be the most awful thing in the world, with propaganda here and scare tactics there, such as "Reefer Madness." George Washington, U.S. President - "Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere." |
