Should anything exist? to everyone theres a problem with it. To this religion we don't believe in this god or something so i say let it be and get on with your life. Buddhists don't believe in the Catholic God and so forth and so forth so should any of them exist do to the fact that another person says its wrong or doesn't believe?

It's not whether or not certain religions should or should not exist. It is to question the validity of religion as a whole. I can certainly see valid points of religion. The fact that religion is a mass propaganda tool that spreads ideals to follow effectively and efficiently is a great way to bring stability and order to a specific society that can all agree on those specific values. The downside is that religion, while being useful, has the ability to brainwash by keeping its followers close minded and thus not open to any other ideas that may or may not be contradictory to the religion they follow.

Religion also has its way of trying to force its way on other places (ie: the Crusades) but it does give people something to believe in when times are hard. my grandparents on my moms side are Catholic i was baptized Catholic went to a Catholic elementary school and discovered it wasn't for me. but I am one person and I do get a lil ticked when people i know start talking about discarding a Catholic church. not cause I believe but my grandparents and as much as I don't do anything Catholic I still am. So its to the point let the people believe in what they want

Tutela, seeing some of these one-off posters, I think you should probably change the topic title to something that better reflects that it's a bit more about the brain and a bit less about beliefs.

If they would read the OP that comes with the Title they would probably understand. Though, I do see what you mean...any suggestions?

I was actually having a hard time thinking of anything

The best thing I could come up with was "Is God in the brain?"

Ah, that's much better! Users might actually read the OP now!
