I was just curious if anyone here on Mene had ever heard of Rigsby. Basically his story goes like this: Rigsby is a dog that was abducted from his texas home. His family searched for him but he was never found. Until a month or so later when pictures of someone holding his head surfaced. Someone BEHEADED this dog. They found the people that did this but it looks like they are going to walk away without any charges.

My question is this: Is it fair to Rigsby and his family that the people who did this get away without charges?

My opinion is no its not. But animal cruelty laws are so lax that its easy for people who torture, neglect or kill innocent animals to get away with it.

If nothing else, the man should be charged with theft. There's no way he should be able to walk away without being convicted of something.

see the thing is that the perpetrators were all teens. One took the dog, brought it to another where she said it was hers and then he was beheaded. They say he was dead at the time of beheading... but we really cant be sure. and the person who did it is questionable... at best. she's been in trouble with cops before.

I don't think that age is excusable in this case, since such acts can be an indicator of some very deep-seated problems. Perhaps commitment to a mental facility is in order.
