There are a lot of rants and reasonable raves about discrimination (racial discrimination etc etc), but has anyone really witnessed true indiscrimination?

Indiscrimination is the opposite to discrimination, I doubt anyone will really understand it unless I convey to you all what I have witnessed and heard, which is a society completely void of the taboo homosexuality. It's intriguing to see for yourself. It is a place where people are born without any negative notions of homosexuality embedded in their minds.

You will literally see, Men holding hands walking proudly through the streets, middle aged, youth, whoever... of course this alone does not mean that they are gay, two men holding each other's hand (and it's always 2, not 3 or 4) does not indicate that they are homosexual partners, but that they could simply be particularly fond of each other non-sexually. Either way you can't tell, I've seen them hugging from behind each other, holding their heads in each other's laps and in a variety of other rather intimate positions, yet no one considers this abnormal.

But that's the least interesting aspect...

Another occurrence which is extremely peculiar to me, but very interesting from a cultural perspective, is that it is socially revered for a man to egotistically brandish his handsome new boyfriend in the same manner one would with a beautiful new girlfriend. Almost as if it's a measure of his manhood to do either. And what is more peculiar is that in the first instance, the man in general may not particularly be gay or attracted to men, he may simply just be trying to boost his own ego or gain popularity. This is common among middle aged and young men of all ages.

Also... it's extremely common for seemingly heterosexual married men to seek illicit relationships with men elsewhere.

In schools, children of all ages perpetually exhibit homosexual tendencies and behavior among their peers. (I can personally confirm ages from 8- 9) Children that are strictly interested in heterosexual relationships are an acute minority.

And many of these examples are inter-racial.

Furthermore, according to the governmental institution and inherited religious dogma, homosexuality is strictly forbidden.

What are your opinions on indiscrimination and how do you think a society could become like this?

Wow..........I would absolutely LOVE a place like this. it'd be an extremely long and difficult process to become like that here in America. There's been a taboo put on homosexuality in Western cultures because of the catholic church, and though the situation is becoming more progressive in the regards to people's views on homosexuality.....but we still have a long way to go before it stops being taboo and before it can be seen as just.....normal. Like how in ancient Greece it was normal for a man to sleep with another man. It had it's own set of close minded views in regards to people of the same sex sleeping together...but they were more on the right track than we have been in recent years. There were no labels placed on two men who slept together.....it was just how things were, and people left it at that. Putting a label on it is what put so much stigma on two people of the same gender sleeping together, and now it's been ingrained so much into our heads for so long, it's going to take probably just as long to undo it. I think it's possible, but it isn't going to be in our lifetime I'm afraid.

I've never had indiscrimination happen to me but I have heard that some colleges and universities in an attempt to be more racially balanced have, during their acceptance application, separated applications into separate piles and go thru them systematically. (Again this is something that I have heard, whether or not is is completely true or false I have no idea)

But then sometimes I think people just like to have something to blame institutions for when they are not accepted or things don't go the way they think they should.

This place would be amazing to live in. I have male friends who are exactly that, friends, and they are not gay. They jump on each other's back, take the other's hand and run through the streets, and often wrestle on the grass. People call them horrible words for it. However, there's the double standard. If two women were walking hand in hand and wrestling, people would cheer it on. Two women kissing? Hot! Two men? Ew! I'd love a world where two men could behave such a way, and the world is good. Sadly, this won't be happening in the near future.

I don't understand what's so horrible about being homosexual anyway. I feel like a completely normal person, I just like women. Don't we all have our preferences? Blonds? Brunettes? Dark skin, tan skin, light skin? Heavy set or thin as a pencil? Male, female? I see nothing wrong with it. People should be able to love who they'd like, regardless of gender.

(Here comes the know-it-all moment) In some cultures it is perfectly acceptable for a man to hold the hand of another male, but not to hold the hand of a female.
And I agree with pweep: There is an extreme double standard in this society. Just look at how women dress. How many women do you see wearing what would have been considered mens clothes in the olden days? Back then, a women couldn't wear pants unless it was a special occasion like horse riding. But now look at a girl's wardrobe. But if a man decides that he wouldlike to wear so much as a kilt, he get's dirty looks and gets called names....While I would love to see a society like the one described, I don't think it can happen anytime soon. It would take to much rewiring of our collective mind.
