It's perfectly fine to love the same. People really need to realize that the world is different and every individual has the right to there own. I mean gays aren't harming anyone? People will feel uncomfortable sure but gays have the right to that to that freedom. There trying to gain there right just like minorities and females did. It's really sad what they have to go through.
I use to not really support gay marriage and such and accepting them but after having a good friend of mine gay and seeing the shit they have to go through it completely changed. People that bring religion to it just don't... what id there was no religion for you guys? Then what would you say? go with what's right instead of following what a stupid book or person says. They deserve as much right as we do and are thus far treated a lot worse ,just like Rutgers suicide, Some are even scared to tell there parents which is really sad because they want acceptance. |
One of the main points I never understood, particularly in relation to the denial of same sex marriages, was that "They aren't fruitful" But that leads me to the question of - what if the woman is barren? Or the couple are unable - or even have no desire - to have any children. Does that mean that they are then unfit to be married? And as far as it being a choice or made, I think in this thread at least it's pretty steady in the thought. But any doubt can be cleared up with just thinking about the first crush you had in high school. Or any other at that time. Did you look at that person and say "Yes, I will decide to think you are attractive" Or did it happen, and at some point, you wish that it hadn't because liking that person was causing you some form of discomfort or pain. I can speak from personal experience. I went through years of wishing to change or to like the people that I was told I was supposed to before I could come to terms with who I was- Who I was born as and to be, and start to like myself. More so, to say that God would hate homosexuals, transsexual, and transgendered people is more than ludicrous. It is said in the bible that God is within everyone, and to hate those people would imply that god is self hating. Now that's a bit of a problem, eh? More often than not it's singular people or extreme groups that are very outwardly against one thing or the other, including homosexuality, rather than a religion as a whole. |
I think that's wrong because it would be contradicted by the fact that Christianity also states that go loves all his children for who they are and that he forgives all sin. So I don't think the religion or any other religion should be against same sex relationships. There is absolutely wrong with it.

Minor thing to note: YHVH certainly hates things, if you go by the Bible. I found this fancy list (had to sort through a ton of WBC bullshit, so you young'ns better appreciate it D:<) of things the Bible says YHVH loathes, detests, sees as abominations, or otherwise hates.

Funny, how many of those things are what I love. Anywho, you'll notice homosexual acts is on that list. As I've mentioned before, Levitical laws are not ones Christians must follow, and that verse is more speaking to ritual purity than the acts themselves (to engage in homosexual acts and then enter his temple is to defile it), but it's still not particularly loving of him. Indeed, I can't seem to find a verse calling him all-loving. The closest I could find was John 3:16 ("For God so loved the world..."), but that doesn't mean he loved each individual person in that world, just enough of them that he didn't want the lot of them damned. Now, I'm definitely a supporter of the right of people to marry those they love, I'm pansexual myself, and I have a ton of respect for Christians who support civil rights, but this claim that your god loves everyone isn't really supported. |
Maybe it's a love-hate thing? You know there are people you love so much in the world... but when those people do things that really irritate you... it makes you want to hate them. And you do for a time? At least I know how it works for me. Maybe if we were "made in his image" he does the same thing. He hates the sin and not the sinner? (I'm not really Christian anymore and I'm pansexual as well... just throwing it out as a suggestion for debate because I like debating.)

Oh no, in several of those verses he quite clearly says that he hates and condemns (occasionally to death) the sinner. I'm not Christian either, and when I was Christian I was fed nothing but pop-Christianity, so I don't really have any insight, either. I'm not saying he has to be all-loving to be a deity, that's certainly not the case, I was just correcting a minor detail. There's nothing to say that he hasn't changed his mind or that the OT isn't completely wrong and he doesn't love (Christian) people regardless of their sexuality, that may very well be the case. Not my concern, really, and not my place to speculate.

May I just say that, God made every single person on this Earth, so if they love the same sex, that was His plan
