1. Yes, the parents have a right. Yes, the public has a right. So long as one is not forcing it on the other, including the child, I see no reason why that right should be removed, unless they are living on someone's property under the condition that the child be taught their gender. 2. I think they can grow up to be psychologically healthy adults, but I doubt that they will in most cases, not including school teasing, etc. 3. As long as the child is not opposing it or wants to remain with the parents, their right is not being impeded. 4. No, it is not ethical and it is scientifically ridiculous. 5. Intervention...NO! Unless it is their landlord or they refuse the child's attempts to leave. 6. No, she did not turn him into a girl, but there is no question that the parents had something to do with his choice. I think there are many that are using their children as examples--as was said--a social experiment that did not meet scientific guidelines and procedures. However, that is not to say that there are not some out there that honestly allow their children the choice, but most people push their own beliefs, as seen by subjective (non-objective) laws, both in social and fiscal aspects. 7. It's natural and there is no genetic battle between an EXISTING gene that supplies boys with their gender and a NON-EXISTING gene that makes them gay, straight, bi, pan or otherwise. That said, social norms should not be simply accepted. A boy wants to wear a dress or a girl wants to wear boxers; where is the problem? |
