I joke with a friend about your "end of the world " idea
But the way we figure it is that girls put on so much make-up and other chemicals that someday girls will become to nuclear radiation and be able to survive a nuclear war , so when a nuclear war breaks out everything on earth will die not counting the girl and the roaches ^^ have fun! |
The only thing I'm worried about when it comes to too many girls and less guys is the acceptance policy at colleges. It was created before when women cried out how less women were accepted at colleges because of their sex, and how men were picked over women.
The problem now is that more women try to get into college but are looked over because colleges try to get 50-50 sex rates. Even worse is though, men who have poorer qualifications are taken in while they push away women who have better qualifications! Another thing I want to point out is some countries have sooo much more male than females that , uhh, a "situation" has started happening. But, then in more advanced countries where female infantcide is not as common anymore, we have more females. It'll even out, I think. ((plus, when you say online, I agree! All the roleplays have girls playing guys when girl premades run out!)) |

There is an equal chance of you becoming a girl or a boy. The Y Chromosome is the male one. You mom can only give you and X, but your dad can give you an X or a Y chromosome. It's all determined by chance. Don't be fooled by the Avatars, it's true that more girls are going on the web, but sometimes male use female Avatars when they sign up for something.
I do agree that there are too many people in the world, and that we need something to wipe them out, thin the herd. We have too many dumb people who contribute nothing to society, and frankly society would do better without them. I wouldn't suggest killing off children, but murderers, rapists, and anyone else involved in terrorist attacks against anyone else need to be executed. It's either that or we all die from over population. I say that there is an equal chance of getting a girl or boy, but since boys live shorter it may seem that there are less of them. Don't worry there are still billions upon billions of boys in this messed up world we live in. |

There are more girls then boys these days. Its quite a true fact, even thought it shouldn't be judged by websites like Gaia or Mene~
anyways..the reason for may just be that girls live longer..resulting in a larger population? also in many cultures..boys are actually more wanted.. so i m quite unsure why there are more girls now..O.o |
I think there are alot more girls. In all my classes at school, always more girls were presant, and by quite a margin.
Some years back my brother and i were wathing the T.V, the program was about the degeneration of the males of our species. It stated that the male Y chromosone was getting shorter, and that far of in the future males would become rare, then extinct. It always stuck in my head, and thinking about it now, it could account for why there are more females. Perhaps the Y chromosone is getting overpowered by the stronger X. |
Wow, after posting in this topic I remembered something else. I don't have Animal Planet, but I remembered watching/reading somewhere that even animal have more females than male to survive. Think about it, a lion has a pride of lionesses right? That makes sense. Females are needed to give birth, and a single male has millions of sperm. Thus, maybe it's still Mother Nature that there are more females than male. But the ratio is getting too unbalanced (they are getting too close to 50-50) because people prefer males and there is a practice of female infantcide.

It does seem like their are more girls then guys on sites like this, but for a good reason.
Girls like to chat, gossip, & hang with friends more then guys. I'm not saying that guys don't do it but when do you see a straight guy gossip & chat about this seasons fashion? It's rarely seen. At least from my view point it is. I don't know exactly why their are more girls on this site and other sites like this but I have my guesses. Another one is; why would a guy want to dress up a doll looking character? I mean their are a few sites out there that do sport the doll like avatar. Gaia, Menewsha, & so many other forums like this. I guess it's more of a girl thing. |
I tend to get along better with boys than girls. 8)
I have noticed that there aren't that many boys on here. I think it's fairly balanced out on Gaia though. |
well i dont know true statistics on the matter...and with genetics it would be hard to say if there was truly not enough Y chromosome out there...the funny thing is..you can be a girl and still have a male genotype..which is XY and you can also be a boy with a girl genotype which is XX so its truly hard to say what might be in the future..

I think I remember hearing in my first biology class that the reason that women outlived men was because men were genetically built to be strong and work hard and their systems crashed sooner, and women were built to handle more/live longer? It was a long time ago x.x He compared men to sports cars with a tricked out engine and women to one of those super safe cars that'll last forever (unless you crash it XP) and I got really confused because I didn't know anything about cars then X.x
And I haven't really noticed the more women in college thing. My school is an engineering school, and it's a little bit less than 25% female. I mean, I worked really hard in high school but I really didn't have to because female applicants are on auto-accept. I kid you not. XP But I guess other schools have more females? I think that's a good thing. It may be harder for you to get into college, but it means more women are depending on themselves and trying to further themselves in life. Being the first female on my mom's side of the family to ever go to college has kind of gone to my head, though. I'm all for girls in college now XP |

Actually some people just happen to be males with female avatars. Trust me, I've known a few. But, I guess that these websites just may attract a different wave of people, am I right? If you went to play runescape the majority of people seems to be males. It really depends on what website your using.
However, if I walk down the street, its not really too much of difference between gender numbers. |
dont judge solely on avitars....I know alot of guys that like to use girl avitars cause the clothing selection is better....or so they say.

most guys think sites like these are for girls anyway. being that its alot about talking, avatars and stuff.

If you want guys, go play some MMO games. World of Warcraft, Unreal Tournament, Battlefield, etc. That's where all the guys are. Forums are more appealing to girls, and games are more appealing to guys.
And an increase in girls wouldn't be a bad thing at all. Much better than having an increase in guys. |
