DO you think we have it in the world? I mean between anyone. Not just Men and Women, or between the various races.

Personally, I don't. We're getting better on the whole, but we still aren't quite there yet.

But at the same time, we'll never get there, not with how society thinks.

What do you all have to say about the subjecT? DO you think that we have it, or is it just a dream that will probably never com true?

This is sort of a spin-off on the racism/ sterotype threads, because the answers are the same. Races today are not equal, and some are valued only for certain areas of life and growth. I mean, let's face it- would you off the top of your head want an asian or a hispanic to make you a computer? Most people I think would say asian, because they are sterotypically "savy" with computer components. Vice versa, Hispanics or asians in a strawberry field? Hispanics, you can pay them less.

While we have improved over the years, we have a lot of barriers to break and ignorant minds to be opened. We need to try and end this now, while we can and prevent the line from continuing.

I don't think that anywhere in the world life will ever be perfect. The only way that could happen is if someone with a "GOOD" idea of communism came into power. *Note the quotes for sarcasm, and a word used out of normal context.

I think we would have it if people weren't constantly trying to force their ideas on others. I don't think it's possible, because for something to be equal it must be the same. Everyone is different. And there's always going to be someone out there who is hateful. So in a sense, we would be legally equal (if they would just make gay marriage legal). But we will never be socially equal. We are trying to achieve freedom and equality, yet it is impossible. Hateful people have the freedom to hate, it will always be this way and it's never going to change.
I dislike this fact as much as every other decent person, but it's true.

But even those striving for equality are trying to force their ideas on others.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with the ideal of equality. However, I'm not going to deny that trying to make it reality is forcing my idea and dream on another person.

No. No two people are born exactly equal in every aspect, no matter what the hell anyone says. If we were all made equal and perfect and happy, we'd be little clones of each other, living in some big stagnant monoculture.

No. Equality as you put it is an ideal, and one that is near-impossible to achieve. It's like world peace and other lofty ideals- it just won't work. Well, perhaps one day it will work, but that day is a damn long way off. We try at it, we say we have it in some cases, but true cases of treating everyone equally are incredibly rare.

But if we were all equal though, how would we progress? There would be no strive to be better, nothing. Stagnation. I'm sorry, but I like how flawed everything is. It gives variety, and it's just how things are.

Gosh, there are so many levels of inequality it isn't funny. @[email protected]; Any aspect where you could suggest difference there is inequality.

Equality is impossible. People will always be different, think differently. Balance and tolerance are key.

I never said that all people aren't born EQUAL, I said they weren't born the SAME. something cannot be exactly equal if it is not the same. Equality would be great! Sameness would suck. people will always be hating on others because they are different from them.

No.Everyone WAS made equal, but people arent TREATED equally.
Depending on your race, it could depend on how equally you are treated.
As well as sterotypes can be affective of treatment of people.
But, yet as well as mentally people arent equal as well.
Like some people are always happy.Yet, some people are sometimes usually sad and depressed as well.
Not making them 100% equal either.
Only way people could be equal, is if we all got the same things, all had the same feelings and all had everything similar.
Which would only lead us to everyone being the same.
Which wouldnt necessarily be a good thing.
