Global warming is not going to end the world. It will end our species (maybe) but not the world. What Global warming does is heats up the world and then caused an ice age. That ice age will then purify the world to new. Everything we ever did to the automospher would be gone. It is actually natural for this planet to have global warming. It happened thousands of years ago and eventually it will happen again. Even if today we try to prevent it for future generations it will never happen. Nature needs to renew itself ever so often. It is not the end all, be all of this world. It is a renewing and I am sure we can survive it because animals have in the past. It just be devasting for a long time.

What will destory the world is the nuclear weapons we have or if the sun explodes or if there is a God he desides to end it. The end of the world is when the world is no more. Even Mars has not yet ended and is still active in some way.

With all the hostility of the world we will mostly end in a mucular explosion caused by a world war. Though I found this academic site when I was resurching volcanos and they said that the world will end in 2012 by a super volcano that they think will blow in Yellowstone..NASA thinks that it will blow so who knows the world may end in 2012.

The Earth will be destroyed when the sun goes into its red giant phase and burns it to a crisp.
Anything before that is more likely to destroy life as we know it, but not to destroy the earth itself. I have a feeling the ecosystem in general is rather adaptive - it's just that humans are at risk. If there's a nuclear war, some bacteria and insects will live on, and eventually new life will evolve. If global warming screws up our climate, we'll have problems, as will many endangered species, but other plants and animals will thrive. Life has a way of prevailing. But the sun thing is totally inescapable. Luckily, it'll be several billion years in the future.

I think there will be a huge flood...Which is why we should build an ark or maybe fake land to live on. Boat houses might become popular.. Well..In all honesty, I don't think the world will end any time soon.

Bottom line, human stupidity and arrogance will end the world. There is no need to cut down all the forests to build shopping malls and over priced housing and I can't understand who ever came up with the idea to make a weapon that can basically kill the entire world. I think it is too late to turn the world around now so it's time to sit and wait.

You're right there are MANY theories out there...there have been some philosophers that have predicted it, and what makes it creepy is that some or most of the other predictions that they have made have been quite accurate...

And then there is the mayan calender...and it ends in the year 2012...I don't know what, but the mayans are smart people and a lot of creepy things tend to happen with them...haha.

You know what I think? I think we will wipe ourselves out with nuclear wars and such. We dont seem to understand the horrible weapons we have created! If those bombs start flying, the poisons (and explosions) could wipe out the whole human and/or living population on the entire Earth. What cracks me up, is that no one in the governments seem to care.

well, me personally I think there could be several ways for the world to end.
One reason I think is by the sun. I heard its suppose to explode or grow.Something like that and then the gravity will raise and kill us all.
Next reason, Global Warming. Yes, I do believe in it. I don't think enough people take it seriously. Nor do alot of people care or even think about it. I remember I once had my 6th grade teacher spray some like Lysol at a fly outside her window...to kill it and everyone screamed at her saying "Your destroying the OZONE LAYER!!"
As well, other countries could possibly help with the worlds end. I mean, there are a lot of countries butting heads, like for instance Iraq and America. fighting and having all these people die for a pointless war.Well, atleast in my opinion.

And most of the time, the case is that if one nuclear power fires at another, the one fired upon will retaliate. That's what kept the Cold War cold, the knowledge that the US and the USSR could easily destroy the entire world.
One bomb couldn't do it, but it's never just one bomb when it comes to nuclear wars. (Things like terrorist 'dirty bombs' are another thing and much less dangerous on a global scale, though they could render a large city uninhabitable.)

well, as for me i, i have got this feeling that the world will end in a weird way. imagine the world, our earth, is just a advanced virtual game invented by some "higher-ups" and every alien get a chance to create their own world.

and earth is created by one of the snobby, lazy alien that don't care much about the condition and like to see us fight with ourselves. so back to the topic, our world will get destroyed by that alien through the "delete" button on the device.

In my opinion: WWIII (world war three). It's already happening. I think that their will be massive wars betweens countries and that will destroy us. At the same time the lack of food and resources in order to make the war supplies is going to litterally suck out the earth. We're already suffering from pollution and global warming. Airplanes and tanks and massive war weapons will only increase all the problems we already have with humanity. Thus, leading us to our doom! Dun dun DUUUN!

I skipped through most of the pages so if im repeating i apologise. there are certainly many ways that the earth and its population could be destroed. aside from world war three and us all blasting each other to bits would be by weather, changing temperatures even by a few degrees in the oceans can have a masive effect as weve seen already with el nino ((sp?)) ice caps and glaciers could melt raising the oceans even a few feet and much of the coastline would be submerged. a large amount of the population lives near the coasts, atleast close enough to be affected. millions of people would need to be evacuated. then theres hurricanes and cyclones that destroy homes already. that would then be more powerful due to the warming of the oceans. there could also be drouts that would be a big problem since there would be food shortage and even more important water shortage. and thats enough of a reason to start wars there since the main reason wars are started were because of need of food, water, oil, and or religion. now that we are realizing that we are having an affect over the weather with our polution you can see we are inventing stuff to lessen our impact on global warming and our affect on the inviornment.

As for some odd theories ive heard the apocolips will be the end of our existance. well for most people there will be a small part of the population that will suposedly survive. and im going by the profocies of Arostotle on these. for those of you who dont know who he is. hes a very ancient profit who could see things for the future. hes predicted alot of things already including the fall of the twin towers of newyork. by his profecies the apocolips is comming and will arive by the year 2012 to 2020 i think. if im remembering right. And there are others who have profecised the same thing. the incas the egyptians the myans. they all point to about the same time as Aristotle. even the bible has some of these predictions in hidden codes throughout its pages. (not that i follow the bible at all.)

I even heard of the end of the world because we once colided with another planet. earth is now about half the size it used to be. back when it was one big contenent before it split up. someone made a point to ask about the other side of the planet. aside from it being nothing but ocean there is none. anyway the idea is that this planet that we colided with way back then will be coming back around near our orbit. which the gravitational force alone would also destroy our planet. causing higher tides, earthquakes and whatnot, it could also be a reason that would bring about the apocolips. and the end of mankind if not the planet itself. the theory also sits in the same timezone as Arostotles and others predicitons.

Either natural disaster or nuclear holocaust. But I honestly believe we have the capability to make the earth last to the end of its time, and that we'll do so barring any extreme event.

i think that the world will end with a newcleare winter. or it will cave in on its self.
