Voting is so important as it will define our future as well as our past, its a meaning for continuation. I think that the election however is screwed as all parties involved are just playing up to the public and are trying to win sympathies or friends which is quite sad. People should be voting for who will be the best person to lead, not the person who will crap on about blah blah blah. Which is basically how the parties are doing it at the moment, they are trying to undermine one another and are trying to make the other party look bad infront of the audience which is us. If we don't vote though how do things get changed? what needs to be changed for the better? health, education and employment.

You're right there Queen, people shouldn't vote just based on party. I still refuse to vote Democratic or Republican, there has just been too much crap when it comes to those parties. Most politicians lie to get into office anyway so, how can we truly make a good informed decision?

I'm really favoring Obama. However, if Clinton wins the Democratic primary I will cast my vote for her.

I don't really like any of the Republicans... xDDD

I could live with Giuliani or McCain, but all the other GOP candidates are WAY too extremist on social issues in my opinion.

I wish we had a multi-party system, instead of a two party system, because I would like to be able to vote for who ever I wanted without feeling like I was wasting my vote.

That said, since we are somewhat stuck in this two party system, I think it's more important to vote for the right person of the wrong party that the wrong person from the right party. (Which party is which of course depends on your personal politics.) Nor do I want to vote for someone just because they're a man or a woman, or black or white, or whatever else.

I'm not sure who I'm going to vote for. I keep meaning to do some research, but I never get around to it, which is irritating. I live in California, and some of our primaries are early this year, I think.

Sometimes, I really wish that voting was mandatory in order to receive social services. I mean, if you're going to live here and get benefits from teh government, you should participate in making it what you want. It pisses me off that so many people in America don't bother to vote, but then spend all kinds of time bitching about how poorly the country is run. <muttermuttermutter>

Ecuador is cool.

I liked most of the stuff I've heard about Obama, but there was also some stuff that made me pause. I dunno.

I'm lukewarm on Hillary, don't like how Giuliani and Romney are both being morons sniping at each other...and Ron Paul annoys me by the sheer level of hype there's been on my campus. For heaven's sake, people, he's not the Messiah. But so far the actual facts I've heard about him have been good, so I'll check him out more and I might vote for him.

Important issues to me are the war in Iraq, abortion, and health.

Kucinich is a pretty cool guy. In my politics class we took a quiz to see who we should vote for, and my supposed "top choice" was Giuliani, which makes sense I guess. Out of all the major candidates, he's the best fit for a libertarian. Although I honestly wish that there was a real libertarian candidate to vote for. I decided I wouldn't vote Democrat because of last election, which was a total failure and bungle by the party.

Not voting for any of them, 'cause I'm not an American, and can't.

But I am unsure about who to vote for in the British elections, which are coming next year. The problem is, I don't like any of the main parties, and the minor parties have no chance of getting any seats, because of the way the system's set up. Not to mention that I'm registered to vote in a seat which is always won by the Conservative party, whatever happens, so my vote's essentially worthless anyway.
