I would rather have "President of the United States of America" and "Commander in Chief" two separate jobs.

President, no military past.
Commander in Chief, Yes military past.

Most of our presidents who have not been in Military, are completely oblivious of Combat Tactics.
Having them be Commander in Chief is ludicrous.

But Military background for President should be optional.
