You can spice up boring mac n cheese by adding the burger to it, along with a tablespoon or so of taco seasoning if you have it. It's like your own hamburger helper. If you have a can of tuna and a bell pepper you can dice it adds a nice flavor too! You can also throw out the cheese pouch (or save it for a double cheesy batch) and use the elbows to make macaroni salad. I've been craving that bad lately.

AH CRAP. I used the rest of my onions making enchiladas. I should have put some aside.[gonk]

I made Mongolian beef tonight, as I forgot I had these ginger paste packets to try. I almost always have soy sauce, so... quick and easy! I also swapped some meats with my dad--exchanging our beef for some of his fresh pork from a hog he shot--, so that'll be a change. I think we have three chops, and a small roast.

Alexander J Luthor 05-22-2014 05:39 PM

Ugggh, I don't have anything to cook. Been cleaning out some old boxes that haven't been opened since the first of my last three house moves.

Chi 05-22-2014 05:42 PM

I'm doing steak tips and gravy over rice tonight. I'm not sure about the weekend yet.

jellysundae 05-23-2014 03:54 PM

HA! What is it with humans and boxes of stuff! lol. We can look in those boxes and not want to get rid of any of the things in them, but not do anything with them other than leave them in that box for a few more years, we're such weirdos!

I need to cook something, but I've no idea what. ><

As a complete aside...Chi, Iro drew some art of one of Cora:s OCs and I think it looks really like you! Will you share, Cora?

Cora 05-23-2014 04:17 PM

Of course I will. I totally love showing off my new arts, but it will have to wait until I get home.

But I totally will ^.^

Chi 05-23-2014 05:35 PM

I wanna see for sure! X3

jellysundae 05-23-2014 06:00 PM

I'm interested to see your response. >< You might entirely disagree with me, lol.

D'aww, Jelly. <3 I can see how you saw it! It's the hair for sure.

Thanks for posting it Cora! :D

Cora 05-23-2014 07:51 PM

Lol, no problem.

I never pass off a chance to show off my new pretty's [XP]

Pistachio_Moustache 05-23-2014 08:18 PM

I've been working on art, but it's nowhere near that.
[gonk]

Cora 05-23-2014 08:19 PM

That's Iro's artwork. Its hard to top [XP]

Chi 05-23-2014 08:23 PM

Iro does an awesome job for sure!

TACO SOUP WAS ON THE MENU TONIGHT. T'was yummy, too.

Pistachio_Moustache 05-24-2014 01:20 AM

I posted it in two places.
Didn't know where you would check first.
xDD

I made chicken sandwiches tonight.
Super salty.
D:

I brined them for too long.

Chi 05-24-2014 01:22 AM

Mmm, I love brined chicken. Yummy. <3 I think I'll make beef stroganoff tomorrow over some tagliatelle noodles.

Alexander J Luthor 05-24-2014 05:52 AM

I bought some hamburger soup today! I just gotta wait for it to heat up...

Pearl 05-24-2014 12:26 PM

I feel like soups are one of those dishes that aren't worth the surprising amount of effort (ie lots of ingredients, using the blender).
I'm sure they taste much better homemade, though.

I had a bacon sandwich for breakfast 8D
And a prawn salad for lunch.

For dinner... who knows? Beef stroganoff sounds delish.

Do you ever have trouble deciding if you want comfort food or something a bit lighter? If I go for comfort food I'll probably make grilled cheese + ham (with a tomato soup)... or possibly cheesy, spicy chicken quesadillas and salsa.

But since it's a saturday and I've got loads of time, maybe I should do something fancier o3o

Chi 05-24-2014 12:56 PM

I tend to make a meal list every week, grocery shop, and cook based on that. It's usually a day-to-day decision, but from that list. Or we go based on whatever items would go bad first. XD

I love, love, love cooking soups. I want an immersion blender though, and an enamel pot, so that I can expand my options in that department.

jellysundae 05-24-2014 08:49 PM

Homemade soup is totally worth it. I made a lot during the winter, always the same basic method for the veggies with various other bits added; and while none of them ever blew me away, when I had a tin of soup one day I was so unimpressed by that in comparison.

Chi! Cyclops/sloth! [lol] It was a combination of the hair and glasses that made me think of you. [yes] Oh and because it's an angel, of course! =3

PiM, he's cute!
