Okay, here's the situation. I receive a medical card from the state every month that expires and then they send a new card for that month. My father told me that they could use an expired card to get me in to an immediate care center or something, because it had the same basic information, as well as the case number. I argued about this with him for days, and gave up. This is a big deal, because he has a PO Box that he forwards his mail to. This wouldn't be such an issue, if he didn't... you know, only come into town every three months or so. I have no authorization to get the mail, and I don't even have a key.
Well, turns out that I have to go to a doctor on Saturday. I called the immediate care center that my mom went to, and the lady who answered the phone told me that there was no way they could use an expired card. I wasn't really surprised by this - I just called to make sure.
I call the post office, and they say that if I have my name on the mail, I can certainly pick it up from the PO Box. Only issue, the medical card that is sent is sent addressed to my father. Guess who has the key? Also, the only people who are allowed to access that box is my dad and his girlfriend. The post office lady told me that if I had the key, that it would be no trouble. However... I do not have the key.
Now I'm scrambling, because I have no way to get my medical card, and I actually need it. I just wish my dad would've listened to me for once, and at least gave me the authorization to go get that mail. It's depressing, because I don't wanna be in debt from a medical issue that could be covered in a card.
