HELP-Organizational skills? Im hopeless
I have really bad organizational problems. I can't keep a locker at school clean, let alone a folder. I can barely keep my own room clean. Organization has never really been a big thing in my family nor in my life. I need help. If you have any tips at all could you let me know. Im a sophmore in high school and I think I should probably learn soon... thanks for all the help! =]] |
I'm a messy person too xD What I do? Hmm well, when I find "This is dissorganized" I try to put it all in order in the moment I realize. Say you're taking something from your locker, try in that moment to organize it. If you're running short on time, leave it half organized, then next time you come, finish the work.
I also find myself feeling good about "records" :D Today it just took me 30 seconds in making up my bed [not that it was very messy] so now I let myself be on the comp some time, and next time I stand up, I'll fight against my bathroom >.> About folders, everytime you open it, it'll be everytime you keep it organized. Each and every time you open it, you'll put or take the papers in the order they should be :) Basically my advice is to not dissorganize in the first place :o PS: Good luck with life~! :) |
thats really good advice thank you so much |
i'm super messy, but still organised i think. my tip would be to set ten minutes a day aside to spend on putting things where they belong.. and make sure everything has a spot. if it doesn't have a place to live, give it one! everything needs a home. it's just routine. when you come in from school for example, put your bag in the same place, make sure your shoes are dumped in the same spot. after your shower, hang your towel in the same spot. things like that. when you've finished your homework for the night, put your crap away and back in your schoolbag or books back on the shelf. it's little things. it's amazing how easy it is to keep some thing organized when everything has somewhere to go and when you spend five minutes a day doing it. it soon blends into your life and you don't even notice doing it ^_^

You could do what my mother does: never go to sleep if your room is still messy. If it's not tidy, clean it up first, then go to sleep. And after school, take ten minutes every day to tidy up your folders before you start your homework.
That helped for me when I was in high school. I'm in university now and I still do that. |
I'm pretty messy as a person too. What I do in terms of organizing is I usually put some music on, or a TV show and I distract myself from thinking that cleaning up is boring with the music/TV. I've found it helps a lot, as I can see my floor again. XD
Really though, it takes self discipline to at least get the ball rolling. That's the hardest part about staying organized. After you get it started, the rest is habit. |
