i have starting doing things with drugs and what not i should not be doing. all my old friends kinda ignore me because they are not into that stuff. i already have 2 smoking tickets and an alcohol ticket which i got on school grounds. so i got expelled, but i have started talking to my old friends and going back to school no, so i think it may be getting a bit better, but it is still way to hard for me to give up smoking, that is something i will need help with. i just felt like posting this for support and wondering if anyone else is having similar problems?

Quitting smoking when you're young is imperative, if you plan on quitting ever.
The longer you do it, the harder it will be to quit.
Just play games with yourself. See how long you can go without one.
Only have one if you feel like you'll die without it.
Otherwise, be strong.
It's kind of like when you're training. With martial artists, at least, the mentality is that if you did one pushup you can do another. And another, and another...and you just try your best not to think about all you've done before or how many you have left to go. Just the one pushup that you're doing right then.

In any case, I believe in you.
If you truly want to get your life under your thumb, you will be capable of it.

Beyond that, I'll be around from time to time if you need my help, or just want to talk about something.

Smoking. A lovely habbit that can be a killer result sadly.
To stop is hard depending on the amount of time you have been doing it.
Make yourself a planner and write a quitting goal in it.
It may sound bad but every time you smoke, take less and less and less.
BUT before you chose to do so, eat something instead or take a sip of water.
Try sports to take your mind off of the thought so that's not what you always think about.
Try playing a game that will convince your hands and eyes.
Go to meetings to help you, they understand too.
I've helped out my friend nick and wayne with this kind of stuff.
I helped them from what they have told me.
They have been sober for 2 years now :) and it makes me smile everytime i think of it.
A little less of something can make a big change in your life. IM me is you need too also, i will be here to help you if you need more : )

thank you kitty yes doing that might just help me,
because a majority of the time,
the only reason i decide to smoke one is because i'm bored
and i need something else to do for like 5 mins
but i guess i could just go get some water or play a game,
it sure sounds like it's worth a try.
thank you for you help i greatly appreciate,
that you would take your time to try and help me :]

I'm glad you're taking steps to put you life back to rights. You definitely need to quit smoking though, it's a terrible habit. You could try the patch or a stop smoking program, I would hope your parents would help you with stopping. I hope everything works out for you.

Maybe if you talk to your dad and tell him you really want to stop, he will help you do what you need to quit?

Okay, well the best thing you for you to is to get off your ass and straighten shit out. Drugs alone are something to be worried about. I am not going to go into underage drinking because, well I did it until I was legal to buy it on my own. I was smart though and never did it in public places to where I would put myself in a position to get into trouble.
Smoking is the devil! It is a horrible habit and you should quit. All together, if you havent been smoking long it should be easier for you to quit now.
Drugs are the type of thing I should just smack the shit out of you for. However, I wont. I have gotten in trouble for them. Been to court and Jail. Still have the Tshirt. Drugs will ruin your life man. You need to not be getting involved with them. There are types of drugs which, in my opinion should not be illegal. Such as marijuana. However, they are. Your best bet is if you care about your future. You will not do anything to jeopardize it.

When I quit smoking I started chewing gum - after 2 days the physical addiction is gone - after that it's mostly habit.

Unfortunately the craving will never fully go away- but you need to be strong and resist.

For me when I wanted a smoke i grabbed a piece of gum and chomped away and it took care of at least some of the craving.

Good luck!!

I luckily never got into cigarettes. I myself smoke cigars, but I reserve them for special occasions. I find that if I have a craving for something, I'll drink water. Because if I feel full, I don't really want to smoke. Whenever I smoke, it's usually on an empty/partially filled stomach.
