This is super awkward to talk about, especially since I'm a newblet here.
I've searched and searched site engines and web pages, but I can't find the answer to my question, nor do I know how exactly to phrase it! D;

Lately, I've been having this feeling like... I have to pee. Like, a burning sensation. So I get up to go to the bathroom, sit down... and wait... and wait. And wait..... Nothing happens.
If something does happen, I urinate a tiiiiiiiny bit. I go back to sit down (or in recent cases... lay) and in about five minutes, the sensation is back. And I end up repeating myself again and again!

This is causing me to lose sleep. It's woken me up in the middle of the night, and had me back and forth in the bathroom until six in the morning. Once I even fell asleep on the toilet just waiting for it to come out! I'm not sure what to do! I don't think its a kidney or liver problem because I'm not having any other pains as described. I'm getting kind of worried if I'm losing immense amounts of sleep due to this, as school is starting back up next month. :/
I would love any feedback you can give. Don't be like stupid gaians and just post a little "tl;dr". D; That's exactly why I didn't post it in Gaia.

The sensation is back again, so... I'll return in a while... ><

It sounds like a urinary tract infection. If anything, you need to see a doctor about it for proper antibiotics.

It sounds like you might have a urinary tract infection.
You should definitely tell a family member and get checked out by an actual doctor, as soon as you possibly can, especially if it's so bad it's causing you to lose sleep.

I've mentioned it to my mother, but she didn't really seem to show much of a spark of interest after I denied pains in my back and sides as she made sure it wasn't a kidney infection.
Money is really tight for us right now, so I'm not sure if going to see a doctor is one of the best things, with our insurances so crazy, and copay costs super high...

Do you think the fact that I'm on a birth control can effect this any? Random thought, but... Its generally the same area, yeah? :/

My mother who is a retired registered nurse, whom i was on the phone with when i was reading this, i described it to her she says it sounds like kidney stones or a gal bladder/kidney infection.

Back/Side pains are not necissarily linked with the infections etc..

And if the whites of your eyes are not turning yellowish i doubt its something to do with your liver.

Not much a doctor can do for me at 2 in the morning... I'll bring up the subject to my mother again in the morning and see if we can schedule an appointment.
However, if they actually have to strip me down and take a peek, it will be super awkward for me.... only two people, excluding myself have looked down there in my teen years, and that would be my gynecologist and current boyfriend! :x
*prays a urine sample will suffice*

But for now, at two in the morning, any idea what I should do to try and relax, attempt to ignore the feelings? I'm so tired from a long day full of bike rides and grad parties, and all I want to do is sleep! :(

My mom on the phone said go drink a crap ton of water then you really will have to pee, may ease it off for the night ... maybe.

And your gyno would be a good person to go to for this issue.

I talked to mom about bringing it up with the gyno when we were going to go back to try a different birth control method (I'm currently gaining too much weight on this patch. And the maximum weight for it to be effective is 190. I'm 188... X.x ) but she said she probably wouldn't be much help because she deals more with the ovaries and what not.

I'll try drinking down some water. I'm worried about what it will do to my stomach if I drink it all to fast though!! XD i'm such a worry wart.

Your mom is awesome. I got more advice from her than google. Your mom is now my medical search engine. <3

As for beer, I'm not legal yet. :P Not too fond of the smell either way, so I probably wouldn't.
Coffee isn't exactly the best idea at two thirty in the morning, I would assume. Not if I'm trying to fall asleep! XD
If I had some, I'd be chugging down an Arizona raspberry ice tea or a SOBE Strawberry Daiquiri juice. :3 Yummmy.

Feeling relieved as of now.. I'm going to try and lie down and relax to fall asleep as soon as I can! Thanks for listening to my bladder issues!! :3

If you think it might be a UTI, I suggest drinking cranberry juice or taking cranberry supplements in some form or other.
If you want to see a Doctor about it, make sure to have enough pee in you to be able to give a sample when you're there, because that's the only way to grow the bacteria to see if that's what you have. (:
I've had chronic UTI, and I know the little pest comes in different shapes, and the symptoms vary. I usually bleed, but I know a lot of people don't, and peeing hurts like eff when I have it. It is true that a UTI can move to the kidneys, but it's better if it doesn't, so killing it off before it reaches the kidneys is important.

Edit: Try to stay off of sugar, keep your feet warm, and empty your bladder as much as you can before you go. Drink lots! But preferably acidic stuff, like cranberry/orange juice. (The brands with less sugar.)
Good luck.

I'm agreeing with everyone who's saying it sounds like a bladder infection, I've had that myself and it's not nice, is there any blood when you pee? Looked pretty scary for me at the time, but I managed to ignore the incessant need to pee long enough to be able to fall asleep for a few hours, and stuff clotted during that time and things were much clearer after the first pee the next morning. If it is an infection though, it's unlikely to go away without antibiotics, I was amazed how quickly they worked for this too, within a couple of hours of starting taking them that constant urge to pee just disappeared.

I don't know much about the US medical system, can you visit a free clinic or anything similar? You will only need a course of basic antibiotics.

@Jelly; Its cool that the assistant admin posted on my pathetic board asking about urine. XD
In America, everything is taxed and has a price. Our government's always looking to make some cash. And with such horrible economic times, prices are getting higher because even a doctor needs more money to continue surviving.
There is no blood when I urinate. I have made it a task to check every time once I got out of bed for the fourth time and realized something fishy was going on with my body. When I go and its just a tiny bit, it is completely clear. Normally, my urine is yellow (in which I am sure everyone else's as well, but...) and I am confused at why the pigments aren't going through. Is it that there's not enough liquid to take it in? Or is it... that what is coming out in these little bits isn't really urine? Could it be a discharge?

The light color is because there's very little actual urine in your bladder. The more time urine spends in the bladder, the darker the color. :) Urine will also be really lightly colored if you're drinking a lot of water and you're well-hydrated. My guess is that because you're peeing so much, urine doesn't have time to collect in the bladder and take on the yellow coloration.

You definitely sound like you have a UTI. You will need to get a prescription for antibiotics to clear it up, but when I get them all I have to do is call my gyno and ask her to call in a urinanalysis to the lab. I just show up at the lab, pee in a cup and that's it. It shouldn't cost more than $15 for the test, and you can get a generic antibiotic for $10 or less. You shouldn't have to actually go to the doctor's office to have this done. Most gynos are understanding of this problem and let you just give a urine sample.

EDIT: Just to give you an idea of where I'm coming from -- I've had at least three or four UTIs in the past, and now have a chronic bladder problem where it feels like I have a UTI all the time, but I don't actually have anything bad in my urine. So be sure to take care of it before it can get worse!

Does it actually burn or do you just have to pee really badly?
Something similar has happened to me, though I was super hungover and therefore super dehydrated. It was TERRIBLE :( I kept drinking water and trying to go to the bathroom. I assumed my body was trying to get toxins out but I was too dehydrated. Eventually I was able to go (it was clear too) and the feeling went away after a couple hours. You really should try to see a doctor as none of us are qualified to diagnose or really advise you; see if there are free clinics in your area like Jelly said (I'm in the US and I have never gone to one myself, but apparently they exist lol and just have long wait times).

Hey guys, my mother scheduled a doctor's appointment for today. So after I return from that with results, we'll finally be able to understand what this is!! :)
But thanks for all your help!

I agree with everyone else that it's probably a UTI. I had one once and it was really uncomfortable and embarrassing. My friend went to the doctor with me and my mom, which was ridiculous, but okay because we laughed about it, since she had had one before, too. The awkward part was when we were in the doctor's room and she was asking me questions, like if I was sexually active and whatnot. My mom was giving me all kinds of looks because she thought I was having sex, but I wasn't! Then the doctor asked me if I had sat down in a bathtub recently and it just hit me. A few days before my symptoms popped up, I got tired during my shower and just sat down. xD I had no idea that you're supposed to scour a bathtub before sitting or laying in it, but now I know! I'm ridiculous and have silly stories. xD But yeah... seeing a doctor is a great idea. Once you're on antibiotics, you'll feel better in no time. It's a huge relief. D:

Yes, this is a urinary tract infection or a UTI. I've known this from personal experience and to get rid of this you need to see your doctor and give a urine sample and they'll prescribe you antibiotics to help get rid of it (:

I went to the doctor yesterday, peed in their little cup and let the analyze. They said they didn't see anything bad in the urine, but they were going to send it to the main lab to have it further looked at. The doctor said that what I claim to be feeling would be a UTI. She said, if we can't find anything in the urine, it must mean that it is just starting. She gave me an antibiotic. She perscribed me for ten days, and said that she would call when the results came back from the lab, which should take three or four days. If something was found, I was to keep taking the antibiotic. If they didn't find anything, she was going to ask if I felt any better. If I felt better, and hadn't had the feelings in a while, she would tell me to stop the medicine. If I was still feeling this way, she wants another urine sample, etc etc.

All in all, these antibiotic pills are F-ing HUGE. D;

Definitely sounds like UTI or a bladder infection! I had that when I was a kid from not peeing often enough... x3; I was afraid of the bathrooms in kindergarten... long story, haha. But. Yes. It sounds exactly like what I remember. Get to a doctor if you can! They will probably prescribe antibiotics if it is an infection, or at least be able to tell you what it is. If it goes untreated, it could get worse and cause more problems, so go and check it out. :-)

Keep drinking lots of water in the meantime and other cleansing liquids... such as cranberry juice, lemonade/lemon water, green tea.

Yes, they will be :3

BUT, remember that you need to keep taking the anti-biotics even after the side effects are gone. Finish all the pills because if you don't there's a chance that the bacteria can rise up again (:

I had that happen to me. I went on to Web MD to their thingy that lets you describe your symptoms and it comes up with a list of what you could have. The weird peeing patterns continued so I went to the doctor and it turns out it was just a UTI. He gave me a prescription for some antibiotics and it was cleared up within a week. Very simple.

Hope you get better!

By the way, how many milligrams are those pills anyways? I've never taken anything higher than a gram. And I had to cut that one into fourths!

Luckily you visited a doctor :D
However, if the condition persists (with the antibiotics) then I would visit a gynecologist (or at least get a re-evaluation from the doctor).

I hope you feel better though <3
