My main comp is infected with at least 38 viruses so I'm using another computer in the house until I can get help. I'd try to get rid of the viruses if I could, but the computer is coming up with proceedors I don't recognize and I can't do anything against the infections on my own. My dad is a computer man, but he never thought to teach me about things like registration keys or spyware protection--another issue of the problem is the screen says to get rid of spyware--and so I'm totally in the dark and in stress over what's happening to my PC.    I don't want all the work I've done on Microsoft Word to be destroyed, and I don't want to lose any accounts I've made on the computer. It all started with that damn trojan virus and my comp hasn't stopped having troubles since maybe 10:30 this morning. If only I had someone in the house who could help me out with this stuff.
I know it sounds like I'm being a dramatic baby, but the issue is I have no idea what to do to protect my computer and all the stuff on it on my own because I was never taught how. Whenever I'd try, my dad would bark that he was handling it, then I'd just have to wait. Well, I got news for Daddy Dearest, computer viruses DON'T WAIT! If anything is lost when he gets back, I'm putting the fault partly on him for never taking the time to teach me how to protect my PC.
Anyone else out there had this kind of issue and know what's going on with my comp?

Well, for one it doesn't take a computer genius to realize how registration keys work.. I'm sorry but it's the truth.
I've had that happen once. Our main desktop got really bad virus', but we always put whatever we were working on/important on disks or remove-able drives, so that was never an issue. We always had a back up...
Sorry, I'm no computer genius, so I'm no help, but you might want to get off your dad's case. If he's working on it, let him work on it. If you don't know what your doing you may just end up making things worse.

My last computer suffered many horrible deaths at my hands. It took me a fair bit of trial and error to figure out how to combat viruses.

Sounds like what you need is a good virus protection program and scanning system- what do you use specifically? An excellent free program to use is Avast. It worked really well for the time that I had it. Now with my new computer I'm running Trend Micro, which is also a solid program, but I'm thinking of switching back to Avast, actually.

So if you can still use your PC, get and install Avast. It starts up with a really thorough virus scan, which should take care of most, if not all of your issues.

Spyware, which, for all the hype, doesn't seem to do anythign to delete infections.
It's that Rouge Security virus and it's proving so difficult to get rid of that we may need to totally rebuild my computer like we had to when I caught the Trojan virus. Could that fix it at all? Because a part of me is still nervous and worried that it might happen again.

Just Spyware? No wonder you're having issues. Spyware works best as a secondary program, with a more thorough virus protection agency running the front lines. So go download Avast (like I said, it's free and works EXCELLENT) and install it. It'll do a real thorough run of your system, which should most definitely take care of your trojans. If not, you got something nastier than a plain old Trojan.

It's Rogue Security. And I have a very nervous feeling about this thing...
I've been so PO'd all day, it makes me wanna beat whoever made this thing and sent it to me with an oar. I just hope it doesn't get to my family's other PCs. We don't need the entire household pissed off by this lousy virus.

I suggest downloading Avast like Alegretto said (and probably Spybot and Ad-Aware too) and running those while your computer is in safe mode. If there's anything Avast can't take care of, it'll at least identify it so you can get the proper removal tools. You can download removal kits for the particularly nasty stuff on the internet, just watch what you're downloading.
If your computer is beyond the point of repair, back up all your important files to a flash drive and just reformat your hard drive. It's shockingly easy to do.

In the future, I suggest a nice firewall and frequent virus scans so this stuff doesn't build up. Screw what your dad says, it's best to know how to take care of this yourself.

if you are getting viruses and such stay off thing such as: aim express, and IAMBORED. idk if you go there but if you do STOP. and to protect your PC get AVG free edition! its a great way to protect your precious PC!(thats how i protect mine.) and i also have CCleaner it removes junk from your computer, just a sec ago i removed 38mb of junk from surfing the net! it also analizes your problems and helps alot to make your pc faster.
good luck!
