I'm a college student, and I have so much homework, tests and essays due every week. I work all weekend, and I have a boyfriend.
I am getting a break in november though! I am going to the Pacific media expo, and I'm going on a trip to Vegas with my boyfriend's family.
The problem, I have about $100 for both trips, and that includes the $70 (I'm paying for my boyfriend to) regestration fee for the Pacific media expo. I get payed every two weeks, and I get payed again, i think next monday, but I only have two (?) more paychecks before both my trips!
I'm used to living with only a little money (remember, I said I'm a college student)
but I hate going on trips like this without at least $200. I'm making only a little more than minimum wage, so I know I wont have $400 by then, which bums me out.
But, Halloween is coming up! Thats the one thing that is cheering me up. I love Halloween. Me and my boyfriend and one of his friends decorated his house last night. it was fun.
my life is really busy...

I totally understand your pain. >_< I'm a master's student, and teaching two university level classes while I'm at it. My pay's a bit better than what it sounds like you're making, but the time it's taking out of me is insane. And, like you, I have a boyfriend, so I'm finding it very difficult to balance everything in my life. o_o He got a job recently though, so that's helping me out a lot...it helps me to manage the time I spend with him and the time I work much better.
As for the money...are there any expenses you're having to pay? Also...I know you're crunched for time...but is there a way you can get some overtime...or maybe pick up somebody else's shift? I bet if you explain it to your managers, they'd be willing to help you out. As for your work load for school though...sometimes even good management doesn't help with that. Like I said...I'm teaching and studying at the same time. I use up all of my days trying to get everything done on time...I literally have no time to get ahead in my classes...it's really sad. >_<; But maybe you can find a few extra seconds to get some studying in here and there so that you'll have more time to do other things. o_o

haha, yeah, I thought about asking my manager for extra work. she said that she had something, but it was during a class I have. T_T
holy cow! Teaching and taking classes? How have you not exploded yet?
I would be insane doing both!
*and suddenly, I don't feel so busy anymore*

I don't know how I haven't exploded yet, to be honest. I've been kind of hovering on the edge of blowing up since the school year started. Though the good thing is that I think I'm finally getting the hang of things...it's still difficult, but I'm adapting at least a little bit. It amazes me what we humans are capable of taking onto our backs sometimes. o_o; It's not as bad as some people I know though...since I'm a graduate assistant, I'm only working part time. One of the girls I went to class with though...she was teaching high school full time and taking classes. She quit teaching and is studying full time this year, but I know last year was ridiculously tough for her. >_<
And one of the girls I work with now...she's doing the same thing I am PLUS working another job. I don't know how she manages. She just got married and moved in with her husband too. I can't understand how she's not going crazy.
And by the way...I know I'm telling all these stories that may make you feel like you're not having to deal with much...but I don't think you should feel that way. Balancing work and school and a relationship is difficult, no matter what. So you feel free to complain and release your stress as much as you want! You have every right and don't need to feel bad at all. :D

haha, I don't feel bad!
I'm looking for a second job as well. I need more money, even when I don't have two events to go to next week. Its hard to pay for food, and rent, and books, and Scantrons, and all that.
Also, I can't drive... Its not that I have any condition that wont let me, I don't have a car, so I cant get a license, so I have to schedule myself around my boyfriend's work and school because he has to give me a ride where I need to go.

That does make things really tough. I would recommend looking for jobs on-campus. Your school probably has plenty of job opportunities that you can take advantage of. And there are so many pluses to working with the school, transportation cost savings being the least. Most school jobs will be more than happy to work around your schedule. They know you're a student and are almost always willing to be very flexible. If there's a library, computer labs, or dorms, I would definitely see if there are any available jobs there.

Thats a good idea! There are plenty of places that offer student jobs, I don't know why I didn't think of that! XD
