Before you even THINK of putting in your two week's notice, go job hunting. I made that mistake thinking I was a shoo-in for another job since I was promised that job from a friend, turns out I didn't get the job and now I'm unemployed, struggling to make ends meet by begging family members for money T__T;;

It's hard enough getting a job to earn money for your bills, it's even worse to swallow your pride and come to family for help. So please, before you put in your two weeks....make absolutely 100% sure that you will have a job right after you quit.

I agree with Leenalia.

It's hard, but I say try your best to deal with the jerk.

Think of how you're getting money for it.

I understand the feeling. My second boss I ever had (he bought the store that I worked at at the time) wasn't a jerk, but he didn't know proper business practices for my state. He was from another country and I guess bought the store misguidedly believing in the "from rags to riches" impression that the US still seems to have. Unlike your boss, he was a really nice guy, but I ended up walking out on him because I couldn't work well in the new atmosphere of the store. I regret walking out because I didn't even say good bye to my coworkers, and I left them in the busy season. It was immature of me, and I was still a minor at the time.

I second Leenalia's advice of finding a job before putting in your two week's notice. Finding a job is still far too hard, and not being paid is even worse than hating a job that you're being paid for. Just try to endure it until you find a new job. Either that, or complain to an even higher up with sufficient proof of your claims and see if your boss's boss will do something. Your boss might hate you for it, but the other employees would probably be happy, and there's still the possibility of finding another job since you're already looking. Of course, I could be wrong about that last advice. I'm still a freshman in college...

Get a job. They are absolutely right. And perhaps you could talk several more employees into talking to someone higher up, or even talking to this "other doctor" you mentioned about how he's annoying patients. I don't know if it'll get you anywhere, but I'm sure someone will be more than willing to listen when you talk about the fact that he's potentially driving away patients, especially since he seems a bit obsessed with getting new patients.

Which, by the way, strikes me as trying to replace the people that are leaving because of him, but maybe that's just me.........

I have a question to ask:

Is there an ethics board you can report him to?

If so, I would go and do that, bring with you proof of his misdeeds and talk with them. they will have more power over him than you do.

I, must say I aplaud your self control. If I had been faced with a jerk of that caliber I probably would have gone off on him more than once and you haven't.
