Anyone Else Have Anxiety and What do you do?

I suffer from anxiety. I have for a long time. My doctor had me on an anti-anxiety med. earlier in the year, but I stopped taking it because I thought I was doing well enough. Here recently, it's come back and my sleep is all messed up, my appetite is very small, etc. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about what to do to help with anxiety or help lessen the effects?

I'd go back on the medicine.

I also agree with second post. You shouldn't have gone off of them until your doctor told you you could stop taking them. It's just the most logical thing to do. Though I also do that when I think I am feeling better but to prevent anything from happening to you, you might as well take them for if they hadn't gave you med's in the first place then you wouldn't have to take them but you have them so you should use them. :) So...Yea I don't have that but I hope you feel better. 8D

I had quite bad anxiety a couple years back. My doctor tried to perscribe me Diazapan, but having known about it from my mom, (it would seem a nervous disposition/mental problems run in my family) i refused.
I went on struggling with it on my own for almost a year, before i tried hyponotherapy. Cured me right as nine pence. It might be something you'd like to consider.
Either way, i'd say go back on the meds for now. I hope you feel better eventually. ^^

I also suffer from anxiety and i just recently have gotten on meds for it. It has helped alot and I agree with everyone else that you should go back on them.

I've considered going back on them. I just wasn't sure if that was the best thing to do, but it looks like it may be. Thanks :)

Talk to your doctor, not with random people on the Internet.

Tell your doctor the reason that you went off them in the first place and work together on creating a solution. Only someone who understands your medical history can really help you out with this.

Well...I know how you feel. I've got anxiety issues...the usual way I calm down though is music...my Mother stole my emergency medicine for it two years ago..but my anxiety issues are going away slowly but surely.

I've had anxiety problems my entire life. But I didn't ever want to be medicated so instead I go homeopathic with St. Johns Wart. But if you were perscribed medication you should stay on it unless 1. your doctor says you can get off it, 2. You have adverse side effects.

You felt better, why? because of the medication. Which is shown in the fact you got worse when you got off. I hate being on medication, but maybe it's something you're going to need, at least until you get a handle on things.

Also deep breathing, yoga, music, go for a walk (or jog), eat healthier (less caffeine), practice telling yourself when you have anxiety that you don't need to worry about it now, that later you'll have time to worry about it, maybe practice saying "stop" outloud or in your head when you feel anxiety coming on, lots of water, and keep up on your sleep.

At least; thats what they told me o__o
