i'm starting to have a problem of not getting enough food.

first of all, my husband and i are having to live with his mom. we have a one month old child, and my husband is trying to find a job. so far, it appears that only one of the places he's looking at is possibly going to accept him, but they said that they don't need him until February.

anyway, we're getting food stamps and cash assistance to help us out. right now, there is almost no food in the house. there are possible 3 dinner meals left (pork chops, a small chicken cord on bleu, and salmon). there are a few fruits and veggies left, as well as small snack like things, but nothing for lunch and nothing for breakfast. i haven't actually had a decent meal in several days!! and i have a kid to try to feed!

the man problem is, my mother-in-law doesn't buy decent food. she says she does, then says, don't eat that. for example, she buys these side dish thing for my husband and me because we often eat those for lunch together, but then she says not to touch them! then she buys lunch meats, mostly for my husband cuz i don't eat them, then she says don't touch that, it's for me! she buys all these snack things that no one is allowed to eat, but not enough dinner stuff.

right now, according to my husband, she said she's not putting any more food into the house until next month. and worse, we can't go get food because we dont get our food stamps for about another week, and our cash assistance is almost used up. there isnt enough left to get enough food.

i don't know what to do, because i really need to eat. if i don't i won't be able to take care of my own baby very well. my mother-in-law swears that there is food in the house, but i know there isn't. if there is, i'd sure as hell would like for her to show me!!

Try finding some online jobs, sell all your old junk on eBay. Got Pokemon cards? Sell each individual card for like 2 dollars, it adds up.
Make a slick website and put a donations thing up on there, maybe you'll get lucky. <3
Where do you live? Maybe you can go on welfare.. As sad as it sounds, that is definitely an option (I think)

You should find a local food pantry before your food stamps kick in, and say it's an emergency and you have a small child. It'll keep you from really being hungry until you can control your own food budget.

I wish you luck D:
I'm sorry I don't know much about what I would do, I have such a large family that I was never faced with anything like that before.

Here are some emergency food places you can contact.
(I dont know if you live in the USA, but if you do these will work. )

Food & Nutrition Service Home Page
(TEFAP Home Page) - in particular
WIC - Women, Infants, and Children : Food Assistance Programs : Nutrition.gov

I wish you luck! Message me if this doesn't help and I'd be willing to search around for you and see what I can find that might help you.
