My oldest brother came home not too long ago...about a month and a half ago. He messes everything up and is destroying things like crazy.....my mom ends up breaking down and crying almost twice a week now......I don't know what to do about it.

My older brother has MS and I think my mom just needs to stop thinking that he is going to behave and get better because he isn't doing anything to help himself.

You need to talk to her about it. Your brother has MS, he's probably angry about the un-curable illness in his system. I would talk to her about getting him to see someone whether religious or professional, or someone that has MS. My cousin has MS and he's better. Your brother doesn't have to be bitter but that's his choice. I would try to spend tie with him. Let him know for all his faults you love him dearly. You need to accept that fact that your brother is ill too and everything is not going to be bed of roses. Your mother is grieving, your brother is dieing. Her broken shattered stuff is foreshadowing of the future to her. Someday that shattered stuff is going to be her son. You really have to look at the bigger picture here and not assume this link to the heart is going to be one talk and it's over.
