Neighbours. <.<"

Up until last spring, an old lady lived next door to me. She was called Joy and -- please believe me when I say this, I'm not just being mean. "^-^ -- she was a complete cow.

Last summer, we got some new neighbours. From the Phillipeans. <.<"

They like karaoke. A lot. As in, they ♥ it. More than . . . . . air.

And, when I say karaoke, I don't just mean SingStar. I mean, a propper 3,000 jazillion watt amp and a maHOOSIVE mic.

They LOVE LOVE LOVE to sing karaoke in the middle of the night. And it's not even anything decent. It's complete drivel. And they all sound -- without me trying to sound seriously harsh -- like someone strangling a cat on a roasting spit.

Now, they REFUSE to shut the hell up. I've asked them and they just smile and act like they don't understand English. They do understand, though. They speak English fluently to eachother and everyone else in the street.

Nobody else has dared to say anything about it but me and my Mom and brother all have to get up insainly early in the morning and we're loosing sleep because of them. They stay up until about 3 AM and then FINALLY decide to go to sleep.

And I KNOW they have to get up early too because three of the kids go to my school. ¬_¬ I've found myself getting up and throwing large, heavy objects at the wall repetatively in the night to try to get them to shut up.

I'm curious as to whether or not we can take legal action. Something that'll MAKE them stop.

Either way, I need some help on this. Please.

Oh, and do YOU have any irritating neighbours ? What do they do that gets under your skin ? (:

You can take legal action ^^

I suggest you get some evidence first if you really wish to take this to courts. If you don't, the police will just come and talk to them, which could probably make them stop.

Yeah, you're missing out on living your life normally because of the disruption they are causing. If they were more modest about it that would be one thing. Now I wouldn't personally go all out on them just because they have made you irritated but it does certainly need to cool down so that everyone can be happier. I know around here.. well, my dad used to be in rock bands in the 80s and we still have mics and his Marshall amps and everything. But see. we know the rules. Once it comes to 10:00pm, it all goes off. That is by law too because in this government we need to keep order. Since it has not just happened a few times but continually it is reasonable to take action like contacting the police or.. I don't know what else, I guess taking them to court could work but it seems a bit too tedious to me.

The cranky old woman next door died ):
She was just a total arg and was always calling the cops on teens in the neighborhood. Gangsters all up across the street are always throwing parties and just being so damn loud, but everyone else just lets it go on the weekends. She couldnt. ): Theres also TOO MANY children.

Bummer D:
I'm half filipino so I know how much we love karaoke lol.
I'd honestly talk to them about it and let them know you're considering notifying authorities or the landowner.
That should work :p
I like my neighbors :D

I'd talk to them and tell them that if it continues you will take legal actions or call the cops. Frighten them >.< Muahaha. XD There's this once chick that used to live down the street. She was about 10. Every time the middle and high schoolers in the neighborhood got off the bus, she'd open her front door a crack and watch me and my friend walk down the street. It was so weird and stalkerish. And not just that, but she dressed like a hoe. Not to be mean, but she'd wear this either really long with very low v-cut dresses, or very very short shorts or dresses.

I'd call the police on 'em if I were you. It's considered disturbing the peace, which is a violation. And I know that you probably wouldn't mind it so much during the day, but at night, they should be quiet. I've had my fair share of annoying ass neighbors. I used to live in apartments. And the kids next door would run up and down the stairs (note: I lived in town houses), and the mother didn't give a damn that the kids would do that. I've had neighbors who would consistently blast their music. And I mean, every now and then is fine. But constantly doing that is another thing. But I hope that you can get your neighbors to stop soon.

Call the police. That's a good way to get them to shut the hell up, for that night at least.
I understand how you feel, completely! I have neighbors (above me) and nearly every night they are partying. The music is always so loud that I can hear all the words, they are constantly falling making loud thuds. I can even hear when they puke. It's pretty disgusting.
We've told the complex manager, but apparently if they can't do anything about it and since me and my father are moving soon, I don't really feel like starting anything by calling the police. Plus, I have some extreme ear plugs that block out pretty much all the noise they make, so it's not so bad.

I have some neighbors across the street that were irritating for a while. They actually called the cops on us a few times because our dog was barking. They haven't been able to in years, though. Their new dog barks twice as much as mine, so they can't say anything about it anymore otherwise they'd be seen as hypocrites.

Call the cops. Legally, there is a time interval that people aren't supposed to be loud. We had issues with neighbors and their seriously annoying, awful, very badly trained dog and the ye olde constabulary fixed it up nicely. Show them you're not joking and it's causing problems.
