So I'm 21 and I've been living on my own since I was 17. March 5th I got married, March 28th I got fired from my job of 3 years, I get a job two months later, unfortunately it's only part time. My car gets impounded, I got a possession charge for something that's not even illegal and when I decide to do some good for myself and go back to school I find out that I can't go back until my loan is paid off.

Oi....is life always this hard? >_>

My love life is great but everything else isn't. I just had to rant.

Anybody else hitting rough patches and that sulk with me for a bit? :vicky:

Oh that sucks. Pay off the loan if you can, and then try and get the car back somehow. Or get a cheap new one. Luckly you still have a job which is good. And you got married so thats a good thing too.

Sorry things have gotten hard lately.

It may not seem like it right now, but these things sound like they can be fixed soon. They're mostly financial problems - Some hard work and coupon cutting can take care of this.

Keep focusing on school. The loan might be in your way right now, but it won't always be like that. As soon as the loan is paid off, hopefully you'll still have the drive to keep going with your education. It'll help you out so much in the long run!

I asked the same thing at the age of 16 when i had to take a job to take care of my mother who got really sick. Juggling work and school on top of dealing with a sister who had such an oh so hard life and constantly stayed in trouble I kept hoping things would get better.

Now I'm 29, been in college a few times ... I can honestly say it's gotten worse. I have an extensive education but no one is hiring and I've been waiting to catch a break for the last 13 years. Odds are it won't get better. I suggest you just toughen up and learn to take it because life will continue to kick you even when you're down and it won't stop until you're dead.

You may luck out and do pretty well for yourself in the future but I suggest you get thick skin quickly because life is always cruel and hard unless you luck out and end up born with a silver spoon in your mouth.

Stargazer, I'm sorry that bad fortune has came your way as well, what you need to understand is I have thick skin for everything that I've been through, this was just an open rant for me to get it off my shoulders because I rarely have a chance to. I know things will get better, I'm just amazed at how fast it all has happened. I'm taking one day at a time and saving up money to start a better life.

Thankyou everyone for listening :)

Just think of it this way - If the problems came on fast, they can go away just as quickly. It's amazing how easily life can turn a 180.

The times right now are really tough what with the economy and all. Its good that you have a job though and a stable relationship. It sounds like you just have some financial problems which can be fixed over time.

I wish my problems could be fixed. I was born with bad kidneys and knot knees, so I take a lot of medicine and avoid all forms of exercise, including walking too far and using stairs. My health just seems to be getting worse, but I try to look at the good things in life such as my new disability placard for my car (yay for parking! lol ) and I will never have bone problems either. My teeth are super awesome and I will never have teeth issues. Also, my family has helped me through it a lot so it made me realize how much the people around me care for me. ^^

While it may just seem to get worse, I like to be optimistic about the future and say that it will always get better. Until then, count your blessings and enjoy what you can in life, for it is very short and time flies quickly.
