Well I've finally signed on at the job center just waiting for the forms to go through to recive money.

And well I just feel rather crappy

What type of job is HIM going for? ^^ HIM must have some talents or mindsets that make her good for certain jobs.

The mothership keeps trying to push him towards attempting to get a job in the call center because it's really only the place which is taking people on being not in the biggest town arround the area. I couldn't do that because if there was one of thse people who do yell abuse down the phone then it'd probibly set me back a long way because it's taken this long for me to get to a point where I am feeling better than I was.

True... you'll get jerks like that everywhere HIM... they're just snobby little bullies that think that they can yell at some stranger to feel better about their ego... has nothing to do with you at all really.

I hate people like that but I almost went for that field once...

Job hunting in today's economy is enough to make anyone feel worthless, regardless of whatever skills, talents, degrees, etc. they may have. With so many people out of work and overqualified, even places like Walmart have their pick of anyone they damn well please, and it's difficult to deal with those little rejections because, after a while, they begin to add up. Before you know it, it feels like there's little point in continuing the search, that you'll never find anything. Just remember that there IS something out there for you and you WILL find it.

Seri's hunting for a job at the moment as well (and fresh out of college with crazy student loans on the horizon to boot...which is enough to make her a basket case more often than it isn't, truth be told), so if you'd like, HIM and Seri can hunt for jobs together, send one another links to useful apps, encourage one another and what not, and perhaps it will make the experience a little less discouraging. What say you, HIM?

I'm feelling rather stuck at the moment

In regard to job hunting, or in general?

I hit a rut for about a month and a half, myself. I'd gotten so discouraged by the lack of responses that I stopped caring, stopped sending out apps, told myself they wouldn't respond anyway.

Well job hunting is getting me down as I'm supposed to be applying for 3 jobs a week doesn't sound much but some weeks there is nothing and if a job at Asda turns up I can't apply for that because I can't apply again for 6 months with them.

And there's something else getting me down

I've been trying to get around 3-5 apps sent out a week, so I completely understand. Sometimes there's nothing new. >.<
Have you checked Craigslist and local Temp Agencies?

Being in a small town means that it's pretty much job center website or they advertise it in their shop window.
