Body Image/Hair issues. again..
 

Ok so if you know me, you know that I care a lot, probably too much, about how my hair looks and my weight right now. I've been trying to lose weight and have been successful at losing about 20-25 pounds. I need to lose more, but i'm really struggling.

About my hair, i got it cut a couple months ago but i'm just not happy with it. the lady did not cut it short enough. she kept saying she didn't want to cut it too short and i felt like she was trying to say that i'd look fat if she went how short i wanted it. ever since getting it cut, i've been going nuts. i want to get it fixed, to get a pixie cut. but i'm scared i'd look like a boy or nobody would like it.

should I stop worrying about it and just move on? Or grow some balls and just go get it cut? If anyone wants some pictures, i'd gladly post some. (i know i'm vain)

I think that you'd really suit a pixie cut, Lon! :) If you're not happy with your hair you should change it. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about your appearance, as long as you like it that's the main thing :)

That hairstyle is lovely! I think you should go for it! :) Don't let what other people think stop you, if you really want it you should do it. You don't have a round face or anything, so you wouldn't look fat with shorter hair. Your last stylist was in the wrong for even implying that

I'll have to talk to hubby and see what he thinks. He gets tired of hearing me complain/ask if i can get my hair fixed.

I think you should go for that hairstyle. The haircut you have right now really does nothing for your face. If you got that pixie cut, the structure/texture of the hair would really bring out the great shape of your face, and elongate you so you appear taller.

It's upsetting that the hairstylist didn't do what you wanted. If she felt so unsure about your cut, she should've made another suggestion than give you a very boring cut. I wouldn't go to her again.

thank you. i'm glad somebody agrees. maybe that's why i hate this cut so much because it makes me so blah. i will not be going to her. I might call around this time and see who is excellent at pixie cuts.

I wouldn't pay a bitch to insult me and give me a cut I didn't want.

I really want to get it cut right now, but i better wait since i have a dentist appointment tomorrow. maybe i'll just live with this cut for a little bit. even though i don't want to. :P

I can see why you don't feel you can do much with the hair. I say go for it though. If you don't like it just grow it out again :)
If you like it, that's a hair win ^^

As for weight, if your face says much, I doubt you're as overweight as you think. Besides, if you just keep a lifestyle that slowly loses weight you'll get to your goal eventually ^^

At my highest weight i was almost 255, now i'm about 220 pounds.

This is me now, before i chopped my bangs.


This was me right after getting my hair colored 2011.


Me in 2009, after a short hair cut.

255 to 220 is good progress ^.^ just keep working at it slowly.
Just keep in mind, losing weight TOO fast is actually really bad for you. So take it steady like you have been ^^

What is your height if I may ask? Curious what your "ideal weight" range would be

I'm five foot three inches or so. [:P]

that's a 6.2 loss so far ^^

45.2 to 39 (in general, not based on body type)
If you keep going losing 3.1 body mass like that every year you'll be at a nice healthy weight in... about 5 years :)

Plus each year you'll be getting healthier and healthier ^^

I don't think you have to worry about the body image part though. You look nice ^^

Plus to be honest... if someone thinks you're a guy they really need their eyes checked... seriously... your face shows plenty of feminine traits.

If nobody likes it... well who cares :D if you like it that's all that matters. They can just wait until you tire of it
Besides... it's not like hair doesn't grow back anyways so it doesn't hurt to try

i might be able to find 20 dollars around here somewhere. we did have a new salon open, i might have to check them out.

20 dollars? Wow... it's a shame basic barbers don't do fancy haircuts XD

Well if they're big enough to be noticed there's no mistaking you for a guy xP unless the guy really is blind... (especially given most guys look there first =.=)
