I was all Emo today.
and i felt suicidal.
and he told me" Go ahead and kill yourself then"

IS he really a friend?

• Does he joke around like that usually? If so, maybe it was meant as a joke. If that doesn't sound like Chris, maybe he was in a pissy mood or something...I honestly think that wasn't the right thing to say.

Sometimes people say things that they don't mean, I'm sure that he was kidding. And if he wasn't, maybe you guys should have a talk.

Well, to be honest, if one of my friends would be suicidal I'd ask them why and stuff, and if they'd come up with good reasons I'd tell them the same thing.
If you truly would want to, you wouldn't be talking about it but you would have done it already. if you don't want to and want attention, you say you want it and behave all sad and stuff. >_<;; Just say you're very sad, don't say you want to kill yourself.


My ex was/(is?) suicidal. After he tried to cut his wrists I dumped him because he was being a dumbass stalker, and after we broke up he jumped from a second storey window to try and smutter pedestrians. >_< Frigging nut.

I say you find help and try to express yourself better.

I used to have those days, occasionally last year. It sucked.

Well maybe he thought you were joking, or something along those lines. Are you always serious or are you a more comical type of person? If you joke around a lot, he might not have taken it seriously :3

He also might've been having a mega crappy day. Whenever I get those, I'm mean to even my best friends. And I bitchslap my boyfriend constantly and hit random stuff the whole day. He might've had a day similar to that.

It depends. If he jokes around like that, yes he's your friend. He might have had a bad day or something, or was joking.

Or he's really that mean. I doubt it though.

Well, ask yourself:

How does he treat you normally?
Is he a sarcastic person?
Did he sound sarcastic when he said it?

I don't think anyone would outright to tell a person to go ahead and commit suicide, especially if that person's a friend. Perhaps he was just joking around, or that it's possible he's using reverse psycholoy or something on you.

Maybe he thinks suicide could be a very serious issue.

He didn't want you to be joking around like that, and maybe he got really mad.

I mean, some people really hate it when their friends say they feel like killing themselves, because they could know people who actually did kill themselves, and he could feel that anyone who would say that is being really...like...mean? I guess? I mean, if one of my friends said that, I would be kind of really mad that she would say that, or even have considered it.

Maybe he wasn't in his best today, like maybe he was irritated with something. Rather, maybe he wants you to get better and by saying that, he'd have you think about things a little more. I hope the situation turns out better for you.

Do you go emo/suicidal on him often? Many people can't take other people's stresses and react that way if it happens too often.

For example, maybe you do it a lot and he just knows you're never going to act so he said that to get you to stop whining?

I know that sounds harsh, but I've had several (failed, obviously) suicide attempts and I've made two boys (I guess both of which were in love with me) put up with everyone of them for a year and a half.

They always took care of me, but after too many cry-wolf's they started getting rougher and less kind about it. I stopped when I got off my meds causing all the chaos, but it's still a lot for a friend to handle.

Maybe he believed he should respect your wishes? If you said you wanted to die, he could have hought something like: "Well, it's her life so her choice. I support her own choices, so...." and then he said what he said. :yes:
If it's not what you wanted to hear, why didn't you just tell him what you wanted to hear?

He was probably as stressed out as you were that day. I'm sure he didn't mean it. Maybe he has tried to help you many times but you haven't listened so he felt that he couldn't do anything for you. Most people who I know that say stuff like that normally say that thinking that it will make you look at things differently and in turn they don't kill themselves. It's just some people's way of doing things.

well actually i am back and things patched up. he was sorry for his harsh words and i was sorry for my rude-ness...he wont stop doing the ;W; face on MSN though.. :?
